Sheraton Universal Hotel - Universal City

Just stoppped for 3 nights at this hotel, excellent location if you are visiting the theme park, , Hotel is very modern, well designed and large rooms, we had a pool side room with its own balcony. The hotel has a shuttle service up to the park which is a very steep climb up the hill, was surprised the shuttle back finishes 30 monutes before the park closes, which means you have to walk back to the hotel by cutting though the Hilton hotels car park and then using the hilton hotels car park lift to reach the Sheraton front. Not ideal as it it was quite dark and deserted once you get to 7pm

Hotel staff went out of their way with specific instructions to get to the near by Hollywood Bowl and other local attractions. (including best transporatation and parking options.) Free shuttle was convenient. Breakfast at the hotel was a little expensive, but very good. Very enjoyable stay.

Nice rooms, very close to Universal Studios. Room service food was awesome, although expensive. The pool looked nice too, but we didn't have time to use it. Hotel is pet-friendly with no fee and no weight or size restrictions.

We spent a couple days in LA and a few days in Vegas at Treasure Island (which was a garbage dump, 1.5 hours for towels, really? in a suite no less...) The Sheraton was wonderful, the concierge was ridiculously helpful and polite, as was the speed as which the valet operated (basically the people who worked there made the stay that much better) Happy hour is 1/2 off all drinks - ended up overall considerably better than I had invisioned it!

Maybe when you book a prepaid room you get the little tiny room with a motror home size Batroom. It was noisey and frankly very disappointing. The room was redicilous especially the bathroom . That was carzy!!! No counter Space and looked lie a motor home bathroom . BAD !!!

I will never recommend sheraton hotel @ universal studios, or any other sheraton!!! I arrived @ the sheraton where i had booked the 2 queen lanai room, (lanai:larger than standard rooms & pool-side) which i was told when i called the sheraton that it also had a couch bed. well thats not what i got! check in was 3:00 we arrived at 3:30 & our room wouldn't be ready for over 1 hour, which was unacceptable bcuz the bachelorette party, wich was the reason 4 the stay @ the sheraton, was going 2 start w/ in 1 hour & we all still needed 2 change & freshen up. they originally offered a 2 double bed room in the tower, wich was smaller, & oh yeah they only hav 1 room in the entire hotel that has a couch bed, which wasn't the room i had booked!!!, 4 the same price as the room i had originally booked wich was bigger 2 accomadate more guests & w/ queen beds instead of doubles & they would comp the difference! I then said we'll use the tower room leave our luggage w/ the front desk when we leave & once the queen-lanai room is available they could put our luggage there & we pick up our keys when we came back, she agreed, went to talk with a manager for 10 minutes & came back 2 try & tell me they couldn't do that, well after argueing 4 over 20 minutes w/ the lady she let sumthing slip, they double booked, which she said "it happens" & its basically 1st come 1st serve & the lanai-queen actually wasn't available, @ all!!! i couldnt believe it, i had already paid & reserved the specific room i had wanted & yet that didn't matter. I got the feeling they told me the room wasn't available soon so that i would just settle 4 another & they didn't hav 2 tell me it actually was completely unavailable. i was flaming mad. & just 2 add a lil icing on the cake another guest checking in who had reserved a room 3 WEEKS prior was told that there were no 2 bed rooms available. i overheard that he too had reserved the 2-queen lanai, he made a bigger sceen than i did. there is only one restaurant checked it out (but did not eat there) for breakfast and dinner not a soul in the place at either time probably scared off by the ridiculous prices $21 for breakfast buffet cheapest thiing on dinner menu was $15 burger

Very nice, conveniently located to Universal Studios. Shuttle could have been more accommodating. It was supposed to come every 15 minutes but we waited 35 and then just decided to walk to Universal which wasn't far but a very hilly walk if someone was older or not wearing comfortable shoes.

This hotel is nice except for the loud noise from the air conditioning keeping you up all night. Also, one of the elevators is out of service and had to wait for 6 elevators before squeezing into one. Unless you are on a top floor the view is terrible. The roof!

The staff was great and very helpful. The walk to Universal Studios was short and the the hotel was about 5 to 10 min from all the Hollywood attractions. I had a wonderful stay and would stay here again.

This hotel charged us for a garage parking fee without verbally informing us. We only saw it on our charged card two days later.We were given a pass that allows us to go in and out of the garage and we were made to believe that the parking is part of the service they give to the hotel guests. The pillows in the beds were too soft and were not ergonomically good to support your neck and head.

The look of the hotel was beautiful. The room was classy. I wasn't very impressed with the bedding. The sheets were VERY stiff and the comforter hardly kept me warm. The room next to us had a crying baby, we called the front desk it stopped for 5 minutes and all night long and into the morning the baby was crying, needless to say the room walls were thin. I would definitely now consider to look more at the reviews on the hotel before choosing, next time i will decide to stay at the hilton, which is closer to universal studios and less expensive.

Hotel is located just a short walk from City Walk at Universal Studios. No need to get in the car to go to a nice place for dinner. Also, an easy drive to the studios in Burbank.

I was visiting Universal City and going to see the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. This location was close and easy to get to. It was right next to Universal Studios - - Linda

We went for a girls night out concert getaway-it was perfect. EVERY staff member was courteous and helpful. Awesome location-literally across the street from the hotel drive in were escalators up to Universal Studios/City Walk/Gibson Amphitheatre. The rooms were very nice, and the beds were sooo comfy, but if you like to hit snack vending machines after hours,come prepared, there aren't any (drinks only). That is the only (minor) negative. I would definitely recommend it!

The hotel is located right along the freeway with heavy traffic even on saturdays or Sundays and the windows are very, very thin. I now know how it feels like to be a truck driver and spend the night on a rest stop along a busy highway!

Pros: Only hotel more convenient to Universal Studios is the Hilton, but this hotel has all the charm and ambiance of Hollywood that you'd want from the photos of the 50s era stars who used to stay tehre. The hotel lobby has gone through some recent renovations which help capture the feel of an eras past. Cons: We were put in a low floor room above the convention area so you could hear the chairs scraping underneath. Parking is $18 and the garage attendant gave me grief that I didn't have my entry ticket although I had my form which said I had pre-paid.

Front Desk attendants were very courteous and greeted with a smile. Polite, informative, and professional. Good first impression. Lobby was modern and seemed lively and inviting. The Standard King room we stayed in was nicely designed and comfortable with all room amenities readily accessible. The shower could use a little more water pressure. High quality bed, linen, and towels. Awesome stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely TWO THUMBS UP!!!

We had a four day business conference and everyone was great. However; just one girl, a hostess, at the restaurant was rude. This will be the last thing I will remember.

Nice clean room Nice view of the valley. Fooze my tushie off when we discovered the room had no heat. Seems the Renovation was not really finished. The tower only has 1 master thermostat for heat. Or so we were told after a long and winding run around. I was wondering why they were pushing the lanai around the pool. Said we could open our windows. "Screw that" I live in South Florida. I wanted the view. Disappointment to say the least. glad we left when we did. The night we left temps dropped into the low 30's. I'm sure it was a great place when Kojack lived there.

Service and room excellent!

the food was not great for the prices they handle. too expensive for the quality of food they serve. everything else was very good, clean and the bed was very confortable.

The hotel lobby and rooms look great after their renovation. The only complaint is that the room was hot and stuffy, and the air conditioner only marginally improved the conditions.

very close to univdios...great hotel

The Sheraton is an outstanding hotel and the service is excellent. Great location to Universal Studios and close to Hollywood and Studio City areas.

Our room was alot nicer than expected. Just a 5 minute walk to Universal Studios. But they do have a bus, no extra charge. The parking fee was alittle high. But we didnt have to pay for parking at Universal Studios. We enjoyed our stay. We would like to stay there again.

The room was beautiful, very comfortable, and had a lot of neat features. The pool area was also very nice and the hotel in general was great. Minor drawbacks- The faucet water was brown, but they didn't charge us to drink their $5 water bottles that were already in the room. If we decide to head in that direction again, we would definitely stay there again. Also, an extremely convenient location and the shuttle service came in handy.

Great Room! Great room service! We came back to our room at 3a.m. and the adjoining room-rented by some lonely guy was complaining about the noise. We were all in a conversation, no music, no loud TV just talking....wow...better not stay in Las Vegas...a 24/7 town..of course Los Angeles and Hollywood have late nights---til 4-5 am at local hot spots...so who would guess that the hotel was so OLD FASHIONED!....

-- no ink in business center printers -- very odd layout of hotel floors -- hotel has a musty odor -- extra charges for everything including receiving a package -- expensive parking -- great location

The customer service was good. The hotel lobby, restaurant area, and pool deck are very well maintained and modern. However, the rooms are small for the price paid. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The only real draw back was the parking. You have to pay a fee each night for parking and that adds up fast.

The only problem is check in and check out was too long since they only have 2 clerks working at the front desk.

Well Worth the money paid and conveniently located!
