The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows - Santa Monica

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was smallish, but well appointed. Our only complaints were that there wasn't a proper bathroom door (just closet-type slatted doors), and parking is expensive but typical for the area. The restaurant (Fig) was wonderful.

I needed to get away from the fires and smoke in socal. It was a great one day getaway with fresh air!

Great location on the ocean. Nice lobby, pool area, restaurant. We were upgraded to Ocean view room in tower which sounds nice but the room is small and the bathroom is very small without real doors. Very nice terrace though with ocean view. Decor is dated and needs update. Last criticism, nice pool but not enough lounges/chairs and really couldn't use it.

The Fairmont was fabulous. While checking in the staff came up with a basket of plush toys and gave one to our 7month old. Service was fabulous and the location is spectacular.

From the moment we stepped out of the car -- heck, from the moment we pulled up to the hotel -- we were greeting with a warm, friendly, and courteous face. The hotel and its grounds are beautiful, but really that wouldn't mean a thing if the staff weren't so wonderful. We arrived early for check in, and although our room wasn't ready, the front desk person went through the process and called us as soon as it was. Because the hotel is located right next to Ocean Drive and the 3rd Street Promenade, it was easy to kill time while waiting. Our luggage -- and my sweater that I had told them I had forgotten in the back seat -- was brought out of the car and placed in our room, which was so comfy! We had a balcony with a perfect view of the beach, too! The in-room treats were very very tempting, but pricey. We lounged on the fantastically comfortable bed watching shows on our flat-screen TV and treated ourselves to room service, which was flawless: the food was great, didn't take long to come, and was delivered by another kind staffer. We even invited our LA friends to come to brunch at Fig, the hotel restaurant (had lovely hazelnut waffles!) rather than go somewhere outside. They were really impressed as well. We were sad to leave and asked for a late check-out, which was granted without a hassle and with a smile. The Fairmont will definitely be our home away from home whenever we find ourselves in Santa Monica (which, happily, is quite often). We felt pampered in every way, and we didn't even get to try the spa! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates simple elegance and fine service.

Hard to find fault here, well managed, well located. Helpful friendly staff, who really made an effort.

this place was one of the nicest and accomodating hotels that I have ever stayed in and I travel 3 out of 4 weeks a month. They took really good care of you from start to finish. they even gave us a late check out and made the stay here a comfortable as possible. Bravo to the staff! Great Hotel!

Hotel staff (from the front desk, to the spa staff, pool staff, valet and restaurant waiters) were extremely friendly and accomodating. We had an issue with the room (problem with the air conditioning unit/generator) - front desk immediately responded and rectified the issue (we were moved to another room and compensated (free breakfast)). Look forward to staying at the Fairmont again -could not ask for a better experience!

Hotel was fine. Rooms were very small, lounge staff openly disparaging of other guests while I waited for change. Room service adequate but not what I expected. Surprised that it did not have the "wow" factor that other 4-5 star hotels live up to.

This hotel met my expectations in every way. Great food, great service, well maintained building and grounds. Perfect!

The Miramar is nicely located. The food service is limited. Rooms are clean and comfortable with small balconies overlooking the pool. Very nice gym space.

This is a very classy place to stay. The only disappointment was the $30.00 per night parking fee. Other than that, it was wonderful.

The staff was very attentive and the hotel was great if very expensive on drinks and other things.

The outstanding staff really cares about your needs, and they go out of their way to help. It is situated in the heart of Santa Monica, and all rooms have a beautiful view of the ocean.

Clean, great location across from Pacific Ocean and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Rooms are pleasant but small and bathrooms are very small. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This hotel is beautiful and best of all has a wonderful location. Walking distance to lots of shopping, dining, and directly across the street from the beach. The room was emmaculate and the staff was always ready to help with anything. Worth the splurge if you are planning on being in Santa Monica.

THE HOTEL WAS FINE BUT PARKING FEE IS TOO EXPENSIVE.

I fell in love with the hotel. The oceanview was breathtaking and the room was like an oasis. I was disapointed by the fact that they overcharged for things that would normally be comped or included for the price. The room service charge was 22% which I found outrageous. Breakfast for two (Bacon and eggs - ended up coasting over 50.00. Valet parking was 33.00 and there was no self-parking option.

I was looking for a luxury hotel and a good price where I could park the car and walk to a variety of places, enjoy the hotel space and be comfortable in the room. The Fairmont met all those requirements. I was allowed an early check-in. I had a nice room overlooking the Santa Monica Pier, and the radio was turned on to a smooth jazz station to set the mood. The concierge recommended several places to have dinner after I'd enjoyed a dip in the (deserted) heated pool and jacuzzi. The next morning, both the LA and New York Times were delivered to the room. When it was time to leave, the valet brought my car up--and in the cup holders were two bottles of water for my drive home. From start to finish, my short stay was memorable.

not only was the price fantastic and way under their normal price, I was upgraded to an ocean view room with a balcony. It's an extraordinary hotel and for the price I paid, it was even more extraordinary.

Excellent service, parking is pricey, emergency communciation system not audible in the rooms and hallway.

My fiancee and I had a great time at this place and found the service to be excellent! We will be back!

Very nice hotel. Good location. Nice pool. Two things they charge $35 or $25 for parking a day and $15/day for internet.

We enjoyed our one night at The Fairmont. The view was of the pier and the lit up amusement park ... no sound just the beauty of the lights. We walked to dinner which gave a feel for the area. The room was a comfy,inviting place.

I normally rent a car but didnt need it because of the hotels proximity to anything you want.

Other than being overcharged two times at the bar everything was fantastic! Double check your receipts.

The Hotel was beautiful, great views, and excellent service. Room service was a bit pricey ($80 for two people for breakfast - just eggs, toast, etc.). Concierge was excellent, set up dinner reservations for us, sent us a bottle of champagne to our room (we just got married), just really excellent service all around. Very easy walk to the promenade and many restaurants on Ocean Avenue

The Hotel was terrific. The service was superb . The only comment was the food service was a little on the slow side . I would certainly stay there again and recommend the Hotel to others.

Nice hotel in great location. The service was very friendly and prompt. Rooms are well appointed, although a bit small (tower room). Noise level from traffice in the tower is a high, in particular if your window/door is open. The Hotel restaurant is under construction (as of Dec 2008), which was ok for us as we usually dine out. Overall a very nice place, but it comes at a price adding up room rates, valet parking morning coffee etc.

Room was a bit on the small side. Don't forget to include parking costs in your final decision. A bit pricey.

The Fairmont Miramar far exceeded any expectations we had. The moment we walked into the hotel, the staff was gracious and accommodating to us and especially to our two little boys. Everyone with whom we came into contact was professional and friendly, and the room and grounds were beautifully kept. We will definitely be back!

Rooms and bathroom are very small. I think it's a shame to pay $140 for parking and you have to pay to use internet. I didn't expect that from this kind of hotel.
