Hilton Checkers - Los Angeles

Gute Lage, mit optimaler Verkehrsanbindung an die Interstate. Pool auf der Dachterrasse bei Nacht einmalig. Zimmer nach vorn ist etwas laut, aber nicht unerträglich nach Seitenlage fragen. In unmittelbarer Nähe sind Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Frühstück um die Ecke ist wesentlich billiger als im Hotel

I stayed at the Hilton for 2 nights in September. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a good size, not a big corporate hotel. The rooms very clean, the rooftop pool is a nice surprise, a great place to just to chill out after a days outing, not the biggest pool in the world, all the same not many people using it. Close to subway. If visiting in LA again I would consider staying again.

Very nice room and very nice accommadations. Though I was discouraged that I had requested a room with 2 double beds and received a room with 1 King bed. The front desk was quick to offer me a roll away bed at no additional charge and were quick to deliver to my room. I was told that the mix was due to the fact that I had reserved my room with Hotels.com. Through this mechanism Hilton said they do not receive specific room requests. So basically, you get whatever the hotel has available when you get there. I was not the only one at the hotel that was not unhappy upon discovering this information.

I honestly wish i had canceled both nights and never stayed at this hotel. I received awful service. From begining to end. The guy at the front desk was so rude to me and my guest. He couldnt find my reservation and because i had made a change to it and then had the nerve to tell me that it canceled my reservation without a refund. I was insulted. I told him i had called hotels.com & the hotel ahead of time to confirm the change, and he acted like i was lying to him & very smart mouthed. I immediately asked for a manager and of course she didn't want to deal with me and just gave me the room after the front desk attendant told me all the rooms were booked. My room was very small, i got a view of a brick wall and the room was dirty, esp. the bathroom, my guest and i were both male, and in the bathroom around the toliet, tub, and floor there were long hairs everywhere like they didn't clean it and the sink had a gross brown resedue. My guest and I both have short hair. For two hundred a night i expected much more. I truly wish i hadn't visited this hotel and i was so embarrassed i will definately not recommend this hotel to others.

I was pleasantly surprised by checkers. It's a beautiful old hotel that still has some of the details (like marble and nice moldings) but the rooms have recently been renovated. service was great. had some sliders and salad at the bar that were delicious. it was clean and the location was great.

Hotel was fabulous. Valet is awesome it's best to take it. Beds were super comfortable, hotel is in great shape, courteous hotel staff, Very elegant for the price. I will definatley return....in the future..;-)

Only problem was that there were no rooms left on non-smoking floors. They did take me through several rooms on the smoking floor so I could pick one and I found one that worked out really well. City noise kept me awake somewhat. Very convenient location. Very nice clean room. Staff are all extremely polite.

The lobby is small but the decor, rooms and staff areexcellent. Exactly what you'd expect from a Hilton. The location is 2.5 blocks from the Macy's complex and about a mile from the L.A. Convention Center. Wish it was a bit closer, but no other hotel really is. Taxis are plentiful here and the bed was amazing.

I understand that you will be paying a little extra for any hotel in downtown LA because of the location, but I feel I would have been better off at one of the other nice hotels. The Hilton Checkers was somewhat of a disappointment. The room was comfortable and had a nice view, but the service and staff were less than adequate. They were not particularly friendly...they seemed annoyed or bothered by the simplest requests or questions. The room service was sub-par. When they forgot to bring my drink with the food, it took them another 40 minutes to get it to me. Plus they charged an automatic 21% gratuity and a $3.25 service charge and still have the gall to leave a space for tip on the reciept, pressuring patrons to give even more for poor service. Another outrageous expense incurred upon me was the charge for wi-fi. $10 for 24 hours worth. I mean, come on! Your most basic, cheap motel off the highway has free wi-fi! I would never stay at the Hilton Checkers again and do not recommend that anyone else does!

This was a surprising jewel in the center of downtown LA. Beautiful older building with an outstanding redo,very helpful staff, and great location. The room was a little small but done very tasteful. Great big screen and nice bathroom made for a comfortable stay. The valet parking is pricey, but the public garage is only a block away. Would stay there again.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were in town for a concert and had contemplated not staying over night, but drive the two hours back it takes to get home. I decided to surprise my wife and book the hotel without her knowledge. From the pictures I had seen online I knew she would be pleased. Our accomodations that evening did not fall short of my expectations. My wife and i truely enjoyed our stay. If I had anything negative to say about my stay, it would be about the parking arrangements. We were required to pay for parking everytime we exited the hotel.

Very comfortable beds. Many paperview movies. Nice bathroom. The parking was really bad, unless you paid for valet. The hotel is on a one way street which makes it hard to get around. If you blink you might miss it.

The hotel is very nice looking thur out the hotel. From the rooms, to the lobby, to the bar, & so on. I loved the customer service thur out the whole time I was there. The one thing I didn't like was the parking situation. The rates of the hotels garage was outragous! I had to go to another parking garage a block down from the hotel. Other than that I recommend this hotel

This hotel was better than I expected. The location was great and very easy to get to. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful. My room was very nice and comfortable. I would stay there again.

Seemed to be needing a little deferred maintenance. Steam room, sauna, whirlpool all needed attention. Ice makers on my floor and below down as well. Room itself was very nice and location was very convenient for my needs. Didn't eat or drink there so can't say. Everybody at front desk and valet station was very helpful.

A very nice hotel with a convenient location. A huge TV, fantastic comfy bed and they just completed some renovations so it was clean and elegant.

The hotel has just been renovated. All the rooms have been done over. New Plasma tv's, wall paper, bedding and carpeting. Restuarant is pricey but you get a wonderful meal. Well worth what you pay. Chef is outstanding. This was part of my wife's Christmas gift to see Dancing with the Stars show at Staples Center this hotel is perfectly located. Planning another stay here already.

Some of the tours offered to Disneyland, San Diego area, etc. are not going directly to your destination, so you will spend extra 2 hours in average coming and going to the operator's bases. Better to rent a car on your own. People at the hotel is not too familiar with the tours.

Smelled like an old smokers breath.

Small. but beautiful hotel right across from the Biltmore with lots of style and history. I will stay here again when I need to be in LA

The Hilton Checkers was a great stay for the price. The inside was immaculate and the service was stupendous. The only drawback was the location; downtown LA with homeless people begging for money while you wait for the valet.

I felt that this hotel was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for just one night for an event in Los Angeles. The customer service was great and for the price we paid, we felt it a good deal.

My best friend and I stayed at this hotel for only one night on our way up north, but had a great experience! The hotel staff were very efficient and welcoming. We ordered room service; the food was delicious, and we were served quickly. Afterwards, we went up to the pool and jacuzzi that are located on the roof, and were taken aback by the lovely view around us - it was so beautiful. We will definitely go back, and recommend this hotel to others! In fact, they kind of set the bar high, as we were disappointed with the following places that we stayed after having stayed here!

Lovely hotel.

I would give the Hilton Checkers a very high rating. The hotel was very comfortable and the cleanliness was outstanding.

Experience was nice. Felt very welcome because the doorman greets and always open door for the guests. Not much selection on food room service.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. This is the best hotel in this price range that we've stayed at in the downtown area. However, the quality of the in-room (make yourself) and lobby coffee was terrible, and the Starbucks across the street is not open on Sundays. The area surrounding the hotel has improved within the last 10 years, though it still feels a bit desolate at night.

Great for business stay but not so good for leisure. Also, parking is so expensive ($37/Day).
