The Highlander Inn - Manchester

Good hotel, very nice staff. Right near the airport and very close to just about anything you need. Only downside is the hotel is a tad bit old and could use some updates. Other than that, it was well worth the price.

The hotel is just minutes away from Manchester Airport, and there's a 24-hour shuttle. No long wait as with many other hotels.

This is THE place to stay when flying out of Manchester Airport. Very economical to stay, and to leave your car while you are away. The staff and shuttle drivers are very friendly and helpful.

Great shuttle service to the airport -- very quick and close by. Did not hear any airplane noises. Great bathroom with wonderful towels. They forgot the wake up call - use your ophone alarm just in case.

The room was too hot when I got there, because nobody had left the a/c on, but after an hour of a/c it cooled off nicely and I was very comfortable and quiet. Its really close to the airport, so it was perfect for the one night with my 6:30 am flight.

Great hotel with wonderful service. Food good at restaurant but get there before it closes at 10:00pm. Use the parking program to save at the airport and the courtesy van is prompt and runs 24 hours. Anyone flying to and from Manchester needs to stay here.

The Highlander Inn is next to an airport, and there was some occasional loud noise, but most of the time it was pretty quiet. The rooms were very nice, and it had the best towels I have ever seen in a hotel.

The free airport shuttle was available in minutes and at the airport within 3 minutes or less. The room was comfortable, quiet and a nice, light breakfast was complementary. Will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

Good Hotel. Poor restaurant. Food not recomended poor service.

This hotel had a personality of its own. It was clean, the small restaurant had very good food, and it was surrounded by pretty trees. The continental breakfast in our building wasn't much, but we didn't to to the main building. Very nice!

Hotel did not meet the expectations or information that we were given upon booking. The hotel smelled like fish and they have another building they use for some rooms. We were put in one of these rooms and were very disappointed. The bed was VERY uncomfortable and felt like a wooden board. The room smelled like fish and didn't have any air circulation. The bathroom didn't have any airflow and got disgustingly hot when taking a shower. Check-out was a 12pm yet the maid come by at 10am to ask when we were leaving, and not in a nice manner at all. Overall, we were VERY disappointed in the hotel and would never stay here again.

Great room for the money. Very comfortable bed. Room was quiet and clean. Nice breakfast.

The Highlander was quiet, clean, and extremely convenient to Manchester, NH airport. Shuttle drivers were courteous and prompt. The whole experience was very positive. I have already recommended the Highlander to co-workers.

Hotel staff were very nice, room was clean and comfortable, location was so close to the airport. We left something in the room and they brought it to the airport for us, great customer service. Would stay again!

Convenient to airport, dining, and shopping. Room space was more than adequate.(Much more than a Disney hotel - we stayed in deluxe room.) Quiet. Slamming doors noted in other comments were not an issue, a dull thud not a bang. On the "con" side, the restaurant needs improvement in service and decor. Sheets, pillows, and pillow cases can be upgraded. Overall, the Highlander will certainly be our place to stay the next time we're in Manchester.

very comfortable room, good air conditioning, excellent breakfast buffet included in the meal and just a few minutes from the airport. they upgraded us to 2 queens for the price of one and printed out our boarding passes.

This place was very nice place to stay quiet area with great bed and bath. The cost to stay was very reasonable.

Soft mattress, hot constant shower, fairly quite room, true menu representation--that's what I expect. Mattress-Check! Shower--OUch!!not reliable shower. Noise--was that housekeeping or guests??Why soo loud upstairs??. When did New England Clam Chowder become "cream of potato bacon soup"? Stay was ok. Helpful staff, fine breakfast,clean room. Easy from the airport--best feature.

Got in late, the front desk was a little slow, was hungry but nothing close that was open except McDonalds. Other than that good deal for the money.

Simple but clean, convenient and a good value. Kind of small room in Colwell House, but neat, well-kept, quiet and afforable. Pleasantly surprised. Actually cancelled a follwoing night at another hotel and stay here fopr a 2nd night. They were very accomodating.

Am I the only one who seems to be bothered by the sound of slamming hotel doors? Why don't surveys on sites like this one ask about how quiet the place is? This hotel is great except for that one thing--the doors seem to have been built by an especially loud sound-effects company. Of course, people don't have to slam doors, but they do. Very late at night and early in the morning. And because the Highlander's rooms are small, those doors slam very close to your head. Sorry if this seems grouchy. I'm a bit sleep-deprived.

Great place. Inexpensive. Breakfast was pretty small and not that satisfying, but all in all great time. Since this is near the airport there are people coming and going all night long which got a little noisy. Tv had only a few channels and picture quality was subpar. With all that said I would absolutly stay here again for the price I paid. The location is great and the staff were wonderful.

Loved the hotel. The close location to the airport was one of the reasons we picked it. Even though the airport is practically across the street, we heard no airplane noise. Our room was nicely furnished, the grounds were well-maintained, and the dining room had great food. The continental breakfast, which to me is usually juice and Danish, included make your own waffles, cereal, bagels, fruit, and hard-boiled eggs. They have a computer room, which is handy for on-line check-in for your flight. We can't say anything negative about our stay, and if we ever get out that way again, would definitely stay there.

I recently booked a room for 6 nights. I had reserved a room in the Caldwell House/Bed and Breakfast which is on the property but not in the main Inn. When I arrived, the very friendly desk clerk said they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a room in the Inn! It was on the 3rd/top floor with a beautiful view of the front property. All of the staff at the inn were very friendly and willing to do anything to make my stay great! My room was very clean and was cleaned each day of my stay. The restaurant located in the Inn was great for breakfast and dinner. This was my second stay at the Highlander and it was great! Great price and great service. Even though it is adjacent to the Manchester Airport, I could barely hear the planes. Not a problem at all. Plus it was fun to watch the planes fly so close to the inn..quite a thrill!

Rooms are comfortable and clean, situated right next to the airport however we didn't hear the it. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The people (both management and employees) running the hotel were as frinedly as I could have imagined.

Stayed at the hotel over night for an early morning flight. It was a great location to the airport. My husband wanted me to drive him instead of taking the bus. I didn't mind because it was so close. I after dropping him off, I went back to the hotel for a few more hours of sleep before checkout. The room was comfy. I paid less for this room than some motels I priced and I was very pleased.

Entry door hard to find from parkinglot only one way in and out. We hauled luggage up 2 flights of stairs exhausted. Office told us to change rooms $20 more. Then we decide to stay...too tired. When we go back to room had to turn on light. Floor hasn't been vacuumed in some time. Tub has big black/blue stain on bottom and dirty. Bed posts stick out so jam the toes. We hoped management would take a little off our bill and we recommended a powerscrub in tub. They didn't offer to compensate. The main building is great we stayed in that on way to Maine. Very satisfied. But if you are afraid to stick your feet in a tub like that as we were, don't stay in the out buildings. Most unhappy and we are not janitors but we expect clean rooms.

I travel monthly and this is one of the lowest priced rooms that is not a flea-bag. This doesn't seem like a chain either, although no pool everything is nice and quiet. Comparable rooms are much higher, would compare this place to a Marriot Travelers.

Great airport location. Although you are right next to the airport you feel as if you are in the country. No traffic or noise. The nice size rooms are very clean and comfortable. Also very friendly staff.

We always enjoy our stay there. The staff is so very friendly each and every time we go. They all go out of their way to make our stay even more enjoyable and so very relaxing, esp. after a long flight back home. The rooms are so very comfortable and the food, oh yes, is also very good indeed.

The Highlander is extremely easy to get to from the Manchester airport. There's a 24-hour shuttle that really does operate 24 hours (unlike some that say 24, but close at midnight or some other time). Good value for the money.

Got a great deal at this hotel and it was tremendous! Considering the 30% discount rate that was LESS than the (terrible) Quality Inn in Bedford it truly was "a steal of a deal"! Did learn later that the Caldwell House (where I stayed there) is reportedly haunted...how cool is that? And if it means I get a great discount at a great hotel...WOO-HOO! Great service...great room...breakfast bar/dining room just OK...but for the price I paid, it was a great stay!

24 hour airport shuttle; nice breakfast with bagels, waffles & fresh fruit with pretty view of gardens.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Dining was enjoyable.

We picked the Highlander because of flight times out of and into Manchester - we had to stay the evneing before the flight out and again late on the night we got in. Our first night was in the main bulding and could not have been nicer. It was far better than a major hotel we stayed in in Boston two weeks before. The breakfast was far more than we anticipated - usually a "continental breakfast" means stale rolls and luke warm coffee. Our return night was in the old B&B house, a smaller room but very comfortable, a very nice bath, and quiet. The staff on boht visits were great and the parking was a deal. Oh, and did I mention we run a B&B and know something about good hospitality?
