the hotel was great, very clean, staff was very nice, location was good, the only issue i had with this hotel was that the noise level from adjoining room was very high, it was almost like they were in the same room as me. dont know if it was just that section of the hotel or what but i've stayed at 14 different hotels in new orleans in the last 4 years and none were that noisy

Me and my family (husband, 3 year old and 5 month old) recently stayed at the Hilton Riverside and loved our stay. We had a room that faced the river and our daughter loved looking out the window and seeing all the boats going up and down the river. We planned on taking the kids to the Aquarium and the hotel is really close to it. The parking is really good and convenient. The restaurant located on the bottom floor is really good and catered to picky 3 year old. When we checked out of the hotel my husband and I agreed that when we go back with the kids we are defiantly staying at this hotel again.

When we checked in, it took them a long time to find our reservation. It turns out that "Johnson" is a hard name to spell. We ended up with 2 doubles instead of 2 queens. The first day, we woke up to a banging noise, and it took them half a day to figure out what it was (they had several complaints from around the hotel), but it did go away. You are overlooking the Mississippi river which is nice, but you are also right next to train tracks (and you hear the horn blowing in the middle of the night).

The hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The location was good if you don't want to be right in the heart of the French Quarter. Nice area for walking your way to the French Quarter. The food in the restaurant was not good at all. They could not even get pancakes right. Eat elsewhere. Everyone was quite helpful and friendly. Overall this hotel is certainly worth your consideration.

I would've like to know of additional fees such as parking fees for the duration of our stay. It was quite expensive ($30.00 per day). I was not expecting this additional cost.

I took my kids to the Aquarium, Insectarium, and IMAX theatre over the weekend, and the Hilton Riverside is within walking distance to all those attractions. I would stay at this hotel again.

If you are planning on walking every where in the french quarter then I would reccomend staying at one of the older hotels IN the French Quarter. This hotel is a bit too far to do days of walking to and from the FQ. Other than that it's a fine hotel. The pool was nice, the bed was SUPER comfy :) and it was clean.

The hotel is great. I booked a smoking room and they gave me non-smoking room. They say its a request and they are not obligated to provide it. They changed my room after two days and when I left a laptop charger in the previous room. the front desk said they will look and mail you (though I was staying there for 5 more days). When I checked out they said they didn't find any charger. But after 2 weeks they found it and mailed me.

The room was great except for the pubic hair all over the bathroom floor. It looked as if someone shaved and it never got cleaned. I told one of the cleaning ladies, and she sweeped and mopped it right away. She was very nice.

This hotel is located directly on the river. Wonderful views. It is exceptionaly clean and comfortable. Located close to the French Quarter and great resturants. We visit New Orleans often and stay at different hotels and feel that this is one of the better ones.

we attended essence 2009. the hotel location was perfect. convenient to river walk, trolley,and super dome, in fact we walked back to the hotel after the show. the convention center was a walk down the second floor lobby with direct access .the restaurants were great, total buffet, best seafood in New Orleans.The casino was one block away and with one winning hand it will pay for your stay. I will stay anytime I am in New Orleans.

Congratulations on the great service received during my stay in this magnificent hotel. The conditions of the hotel and room service were wonderful. I must also congratulate the staff for the good service offered at all times. My roommate is diabetic and needed to store her insulin. Ask to room service her needs and immediately brought us a little refrigerator. Thanks for all your attentions.

We had a great room on the river side of the hotel on the top floor (5th) of that wing of the hotel. All of the restaurants and attractions were within walking distance except for Commander's Palace restaurant in the Garden District.

Our clean and comfortable room was overlooking the mighty Mississippi river, the rate was good, and the service was good. The only qualm is that EVERYTHING in and around the area was very expensive, except the delicious beignet at Cafe le Monde

The hotel is in a great place, but that was the only advantage. The lobby is impressive, but that was the only really nice part of the place. I have stayed in Comfort Inns with better rooms. Not that they were bad, just not impressive at all. We requested a double and ended up with a King and roll away bed. The room was small before the roll away and tiny after it was put down. We had no other option with two adults and two children. Since we were in a room for two we had to ask again and again for more towels and glasses. The room service prices were ridiculous. Fifteen dollars for the cheapest sandwich on the menu. We ordered from Dominos Pizza. Make sure they bring you something to drink though. Twenty ounce Cokes go for three dollars a piece from the machine. And nice as the hotel seems the parking area is pure slums, very dark with no security or cameras at all. Plus it cost thirty dollars a day to park even if you are a guest of the hotel. Also internet is available for a hourly charge. So if you stay bring your on drinks and list of local places to eat, the breakfast runs twenty dollars for adults.

The location is a bit farther than I'd like from Cafe du Monde than I would prefer. The hotel has a couple buildings - most without views of much. The service and the food in Drago's restaurant was disappointing - bland onion rings - with no remoulade, luke warm duck breast. Better chargrilled oysters at French Market Restaurant.

We stayed in a room that overlooked the river and it was incredibly clean and very quiet (it looked liked this section of the hotel had just been remodeled so it was very clean). We also ate at all of the restaurants and they were very good (the charbroiled oysters were out of this world!). I liked the area of town - it was right across the street from Harrah's, next door to the mall and very close to the French Quarter and we walked to Mother's for breakfast. If we go back to NOLA, we'll stay there for sure.

Location was great, hotel was in great condition, really liked "Building 2" Parking was somewhat of a hassle and the long walk to the room may be a problem for some, usually like the boutique hotels, but pleasantly surprised....

The hotel is connected to the riverwalk mall. It is 4-5 blocks from the starting point of the crescent city class 10K Race. It is walking distance to bourbon street, but I would not recommend being alone outside of the hotel after dark. It is in downtown New Orleans, afterall.

The hotel was not finished with it's renovation and as a result, there were no signs to indicate where the pools were. There was only one set of curtains on the windows. The blackouts were up, but the actual curtains were not. The remote for the TV didn't work, when I called the front desk for a new one, the phone rang for 10 minutes without it being picked up. I finally got a hold of housekeeping, then sent someone up with another remote that didn't work. But the cherry on the cake was the rude bell man who threw our luggage on a cart and then told me that if my items were packed well, then I need not worry about if items might be damaged. I mentioned my conderns to the assistant manager who was very understanding. She agreed to credit my valet, which I thought was very accomidating. Until I got to the valet booth and was told that the credit was done wrong and that I would have to pay for the valet. I told them that they needed to work it out internally and refused to pay. This was a road trip, 200 miles away at our next hotel I relized that several of our items were never put in the car. I payed a bell man to load our car, with all the luggage packed away I didn't relize that my laptop and a small package were never placed in my car. I had to drive back to get them. The hotel is very nice, but for the money, the staff could use some training. I go to New Orleans at least once a year, I don't know if I will stay here again.
