Hilton Hotels are knows for a high quality standard in terms of service, comfort and quality. The Hilton Union Square does not show any of those: Upon arrival there is no valet parking available in front of the hotel, the guest has to drive around the block to get this done or park his car himself. The lobby looks like the main station of a train, same applies for the check in area, which reminds strongly at the check in area of low cost carriers these days. A quite unfriendly staff, the whole interior needs a refurnishment. Waiting queues were quite long and checking out also took at least 15 minutes. On the aisles to the rooms you can find half empty plates supplied by the room service to the guests, staying there for half days or longer. The rooms where quite small, the whole furniture is ancient and signs of a frequent usage can't be hidden. The use of the internet is charged with prices out of this world in the US, the Hilton wholly owned Hamtpon Inn chain does not charge Internet at all. So all in all I would summarize, that the Hilton Union Square is far behind the standards Europeans are used by Hilton Hotels in Europe. Hilton Union Square did not offer anything else than a typical middle class hotel would offer.

ZImmer war sehr ordentlich und die Einrichtung ansprechend. Leider funktionierte die Kaffeemaschine nicht. Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral.

Riesenhotel, nicht schlecht geführt, aber wenig Atmosphäre. Bad nicht ganz saubr, Toilette nicht ganz in Ordnung. Service aber gut, Gratis-Frühstück in der Executive Lobby im 45. Stock auch gut. Blick aus dem 37. Stock ein Erlebnis.

Das war das kleinste Zimmer in unserem USA Urlaub! Zimmer sind supereng und klein!Nicht besonders Eingerichtet und im Bad musste ich meinen Kulturbeutel auf der Toilette abstellen,weil sonst kein Platz war!Wenn man auf die Toilette musste,musste man erst rein,dann Türe schliessen und dann.... naja sehr enge Angelegenheit!Lobby und Empfangsbereich war ok!Das beste an diesem Hotel und das wird den Preis Ausmachen ist die Lage!Zentraler geht nicht!

Das Hilton San Francisco Union Square erfüllt die Erwartungen, die man an ein Hotel dieser Preiskategorie stellen kann. Zimmer und sonstiges Hotel sind sauber, Handtücher und Bettwäsche sind in sehr gutem Zustand, der Service ist hervorragend, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Der Pool ist zwar nicht herausragend, aber in Ordnung. Bemerkenswert ist die sehr zentrale Lage - innerhalb von 5 Laufminuten erreicht man den Union Square inklusive Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, eine MUNI- und BART-Station, Cable Car-Haltestelle, Buslinien, Theater und mehrere Restaurants.

Comfy beds , easy access to bart , car hire across the road and good prices for a branded hotel.

Excellent price for the room, don't stay there if you have a car, overnight parking is $59, down the street is $20 of course SF has very high taxes on parking. I left a bag of personal items in the drawer. First time in 40 years of traveling. The hotel wanted $26 to mail me the small bag. Not customer friendly

The people were sooooo nice, which is refreshing...not an upgraded hotel (t.v.'s) and my husband complained the bed was too hard. He had tweaked muscle for a few days after. I expected the parking fee, but for everyone who complains about it, it is just part of the city experience. There really was no surprize. I don't mind because you get a convenient safe entry from the car to hotel. No noisy neighbors, convenient to union square. I would stay again for a discounted price.

HOTEL WAS GREAT. THE ROOM WAS A BIT SMALL BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED IN SAN FRANCISCO. PARKING IS EXPENSIVE. I WAS READY TO PUT DOWN CASH FOR INCIDENTAL CHARGES AND THEY TOLD ME I DIDN'T HAVE TO MOST HOTELS WANT CASH OR A CREDIT CARD. PLACES TO EAT ARE ONE BLOCK OVER THE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS NOT THE BEST DURING THE DAY IT WAS FINE BUT AT NIGHT A LITTLE SCARY. IT'S NOT WALKING DISTANCE TO FISHERMANS WHARF. THE ONLY 2 PROBLEMS AND NOT MAJOR WAS THE BATHROOM DID'NT HAVE A LOCK AND THE CHAIR FOR THE DESK TOOK UP ALOT OF SPACE. I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.

Great location near Union Square that allows you to get to San Francisco sights. Hotel is a legitimte 4-Star facility and is near a cable car stop, and just a few blocks to BART, trolleys, and rental car offices. You can get good room rates on the internet in advance, but be prepared to pay and tip for everything from the sidewalk entry to your room....typical downtown big-city, big-lobby atmosphere. After arriving from Napa and dropping off luggage at the lobby, we conveniently returned our rental car two blocks away. Hotel parking fees are expensive, and you must pay for wireless internet available in the lobby. After staying at a less expensive chain hotel near Napa where we got free wireless, free parking, free hot breakfast, fresh cookies and free wine (once), it was a reality check in the big city. That was expected, however, and, overall, we were very happy with the discounted room rate, cleanliness, and good location. Would cetainly stay again if we could get a similar discounted rate.

Its a wonderful hotel with all the facilities and required amenities available at our disposal. The room is neat and the service is great. Close to public transportation and close to shopping malls. Only the parking is expensive which we can get away by parking in the buildings behind and in front of the hotel where they charge around 1/2 the price of what Hilton charges. Overall its a great place.

Great price, central location,however would exercise caution if you go too far south or west of location. Great shopping easy access to all major sites. Not too expensive to get by taxi anywhere. Hotel staff more than helpful. It was a busy weekend but all the staff were friendly. Beds were extremely comfortable. Would stay there in a heartbeat again.

The only thing I was dissapointed in was the fact that they do not offer their guests free wifi, you have to pay about six dollars an hour for it. They do have a kinkos in the hotel w computers for use but again they cost money for use. Otherwise, the hotel is great. Staff is very friendly, location is awesome and close to everything, someone did warn that a block away is an unsafe area to walk at night but I never had a problem and at night there are security in the lobby. Starbucks in the lobby was very convenient and lobby is huge with lots of comfy chairs to sit and relax..Also the Urban Tavern is delicious!

Being a "Hilton" I had very high expectations of this hotel. The rooms walls were PAPER thin. We had to switch rooms due to feeling like we were in a frat house in the first one. Within minutes of moving our stuff into a different room we heard the next room having sex. It was very disturbing and I would never stay in this hotel again. The front desk was not very friendly or helpful either. We asked how to get to the Castro district and the gentlemens recommended walking. Come to find out it was miles from the hotel and we would of had to walk through some very questionable neighborhoods.

We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. We checked in late, after 10:00pm, and the check-in was smooth and completed within 5 minutes. The front desk was aware we had booked through hotels.com and confirmed our excellent rate. Our room was in Tower 3, 17th floor (very quiet). Room was clean and good sized. Bathroom was small but acceptable. Water pressure was good for both the shower, basin and toilet. Complimentary soap, etc. was a pleasant surprise. Their green policy re: changing towels and sheets was a big plus for us (two adults): sheets changed every four days and upon checkout, unless you indicate by placing a "green" Hilton card on your pillow. Towels changed when you leave them on the floor. We had an excellent, although high priced, one-time breakfast at the Hilton's coffee shop (Urban Tavern) and decided to have our breakfasts at outside shops (5 minutes walking distance). Housekeeping staff very pleasant and greeted us when we passed them in the hallways. Limosine service to SFO International was $40 versus about $30 plus tip for minivan. Excellent convenient location: Powell Street station is about 15 minute walk. We felt very secure during our entire stay (4 nights). In summary a very good value for us (hotels.com price included all taxes and fees) and a very pleasant stay.

Wanted and extra hour to checkout and was told ask in morning, went downstairs and waited in line for 40 minutes to be told no .dont mind the no but 40 minutes???? Staff were not amazingly friendly Valet is mega overpriced at $55 plus tax a night. When going out be careful which way you turn Convenient location if all you want to do is sleep Oh and be ready for the big time upgrade selling when you check in overated at 4*

I was allowed to check in early which is always a good thing. The overall service was great for such a big hotel and the view from my room was awesome. Also, the surrounding area had plenty of restaurants and shops. I'd stay there again.

I slept so well in the Hilton Hotel bed that I am purchasing some of their pillows and mattress pad. It was phenomenal! Nice hotel! Nice staff! Great deal for the price! Beautiful lobby. Nice upscale bar to hang out in. Great location! Close to Powell street and public transportation for wherever else you want to go in the city. The only thing that was out of control was the price of room service food! Waaaaaaaaaaaay over priced! Needless to say we did not order room service...there's plenty of places to eat in the surrounding areas.

This hotel is easily accessed using the local public transportation, you can get anywhere in the city with the Bart, Muni, buses or cable cars. Shoping was super convenient, tons of great local restaurants, staff was friendly.

We found a great deal for this room right in the heart of Union Square. We were pleasently suprised when they told us we had a Jr. Suite. We just thought okay, whatever, that's just what they call it. But to our suprise, we walked into a huge room! We had our own office, living room and two windows with great city views! It was one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in! The price was great and the service was amazing! Parking is expensive so we just parked a couple blocks away at a cheaper place. But you are in the heart of everything!

You expect to pay for parking in the city. Before, I've paid about $25 a day for parking, but this hotel charged $52 for 1 night stay parking. To me, that was just too much.

Very large but given personal service, alovely room near pool and help with everything I needed. Better and cheaper believe it or not, than Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf

Hotel was well priced quality and the bed was very comfortable. Parking is very expensive and you can park a couple of blocks away for around twenty dollars a day rather than forty five dollars at the hotel.

The location of the hotel was fantastic in relation to the amenities of the surrounding area. Great shopping and restaurants. However, beware of many homeless panhandling in front of the hotel, although that appeared to be the case with most of the city. Overall, the hotel room was fine, a little small but worth the price. Also, the biggest drawbacks to the room were that it lacked a refrigerator and had an old TV that had sound issues. But I didn't go to San Francisco to watch TV so while it was disappointing, it wasn't a deal breaker.

Since I had to stay in San Francisco, a city that makes visiting it so difficult, I decided to stay at the hilton. The hotel was very nice, clean, comfortable, and the service was excellent. The only concern was the parking. The hotel charges $51.00 per night, which I feel is hiway robbery, they know they have you by the short ones so why not take advantage of you. The Hilton is not the only hotel that charges outragious amounts for parking, they all do.

I had a nice stay & the employees are very kind and responsible. Security did a good job. Plus there was a great view of San Francisco from the balconies.

The Room was great but I don't feel I got the best info about what was available to me in the room or restaurants around me. otherwise it was a Great Hotel

Good quality and well located, although lacking somewhat in character as might be expected from a large business focused hotel.

We've stayed at this hotel before, but this time got a great room (not near the elevator). The price was great for a busy hotel located so close to everything. Will definetly consider this location again for our next trip to San Francisco.

We had a problem with check-in but the staff were very helpful and found a room for us.

I stayed in the tower on the 26th floor and had a balcony overlooking the city. It was beautiful. The room meets my expectations for a NICE room. Don't fall for the hotels that are just old hotels they threw a couple of deocratins in to make trendy, go with a name you know is will provide the service you excpet. We stayed at the Clift two weeks ago, and it was not good. It was very nice to have the Hilton renew our opinions of downtown hotels.

My husband and I got away for couples weekend to dine and dance and stay in a nice hotel. The hotel was wonderful and the price was great. We got a king size bed and parking package for a very good price. The hotel was clean, the room was large, the customer service was excellant. Our trip was great and our stay at the Hilton was great.

The hotel was well located and had an impressive lobby area. The room was extremely large and clean and had sufficient amenities. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the food was of high quality. The hotel was a short walk from Union Square and a number of good restaurants. Ideal location to use as a base. The parking charges however were excessive and there are a number of parking garages for self parking which were much cheaper very close to the hotel. A great stay and I would certainly stay there again on return.
