Wunderschöner Wintergarten in der Lobby, traumhafter Dachgarten, Whirlpools mit Blick auf die Acropolis, super sauber, freundliches Personal,

super room and great staff. We lıked ıt a lot, and the roof garden was a great plus.

We looked for a hotel that we could see the Acropoles from the hotel roof garden and it would be easy walking distance to the acropoles and the museum and this hotel was the perfect fit.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful location close to the Acropolis with views from some rooms. Hotel is practically next door to the new Acroplolis Museum and is quite close to Syntagma Square in the centre of Athens. Very close to historical sites, such as Temple of Olympian Zeus, Acropolis, etc, all within walking distance. The hotel does a wonderful breakfast with wonderful selections of hot and cold items, lovely breads and jams, etc, but the breakfast should run a little longer in the morning. There is a beautiful rooftop garden from which to see the city of Athens and the nearby Acropolis; great place for an evening drink served by the staff who come promptly up the lift with any order. The hotel restaurant is a bargain...wonderful food and service in an atrium-like dining room at very reasonable rates. The hotel decor is beautiful and the staff and very nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

This was our first trip to Greece and we did lots of research online to find a hotel that was convenient, affordable, and in a great safe neighborhood. We were only going to spend 2 nights in Athens and then travel to Crete, so we wanted a hotel that was walking distance to the Acropolis, and the New Acropolis Museum. From the moment we arrived at the Herodian,(after traveling 16 hours from Los Angeles and taking the bus from the airport to Syntagma Square) the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect for what we were looking for. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and up to date and the a/c worked great. We really enjoyed the roof top deck, we sat there in the evenings, ordered drinks and enjoyed the view of the Acropolis after each long day of site seeing. Our last night we ate at the hotel restaurant, the food was better than what I was expecting, since we ate at a few great restaurants in the area. Also, the breakfast has a large selection of items to choose from, it is on the better end of european breakfasts I have encountered. Overall, I would return and recommend this hotel because of location, cleanliness, helpful staff and the rooftop deck.

As others have said, this is in a great location with a stunning roof garden. Rooms are clean, newly renovated, with large bathrooms. My only complaint is that we were next to the maids' closet and they started making considerable noise at 7am.

The hotel was fairly well located. From what I read and have now experienced, Athens is not a well kept city. You go there for the sites. With that being said viewing the sites lit up at night was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The hotel itself was modern and attractive from the lobby as well as the street. Not at all over the top though. So if that's what you want you'll need to go to the five stars. The hotel was well kept and clean and the staff was not rude but not overly friendly either. Breakfast is not fancy but met our expectancy of the average B&B breakfast. Our room and bathroom was small. But most in Athens are. The hotel location was in what felt like a bad area, not well kept, graffiti and building repair everywhere. This is also typical I have heard so I wasn't dissappointed or surprised. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the New museum and the outside edge of the Plaka. If your looking to be in the thick of the Plaka this is not the location you want.

The location is great - 2 steps from the acropolis with a nice taverna next door. However, the service was unimpressive. On one occasion the airconditioner in my room leaked all night. On the second occasion I was given a room so small I couldn't turn around despite having booked a double room. When I asked for another room, the desk acted as if they were doing me a favor. It was also very noisy at night with other guests talking in the hallway and in their rooms. I really question the attribution of 4 stars to this hotel.

This hotel has a great location. We stayed in a room looking out at the Acropolis. That was very nice. It seems like this was a business type hotel and the service was not overly friendly or personal for a vacation stay. Breakfast was very good. Our shower was broken and we reported it immediately. After two nights stay, they still had not fixed it. For the price, I would have expected more.

Good location near walking distance of Acropolis and next to new Museum. Walking distance to Plaka region ( resturant section). One stop on metro south of Syntagma Square,( but check the metro schedules as we found that it was closed from Athens Airport due to construction of 3 new stations). Staff was very nice and helped us book tours and even printed our boarding pass when we asked. I would stay there again.

We arrived very late after taking the redeye from London. The driver of the car service we arranged for in advance was a little late but he was pleasant and got us to the hotel in a timely fashion. Double bed we had sought turned out to be two singles pushed together. Asked for a new room but hotel fully booked. Told we would get another one the next day but this did not happen. Also, noisy construction place nearby late at night was discouraging. Little was done to make our stay more pleasant or to offset our discouragement. Overall, room was good and clean. Breakfast part of package was okay, but nothing special. Roof top view of Acropolis was wonderful touch our last night in Athens. Again, location was a bright spot, Plaka District an easy walk, but another hotel nearby the Herodion would have been a better choice for us. Finally, virtue of Herodion was the fact the Sightseeing Athens hop on-hop off bus runs right in front of the hotel and that was a joy after a long day of visiting the ruins.

We were pleased with the location of the Herodion. It was close enough to walk to most of the things to see in Athens. The view from our room was terrific. The front desk staff was not friendly or very helpful but the rest of the staff was great. I would stay at the Herodion again and would suggest it to friends.

A quality hotel which was located on a quiet street within 5 minutes walking distance of both the parthenon and the plaka. No busy roads to cross to get to all main Athens attractions The hotel was comfrtable and had a very nice roof terrace with good views of the parthenon. Public areas were nicely furnished. The breakfast was of a good standard with plenty of choice. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Location was fantastic and we loved the rooftop Jacuzzis. Service was friendly and helpful, and the place has a nice design. On the downside, the Jacuzzi policy of 5 euros and only 15 minutes seemed a bit bogus. The pillows were way too firm. The shower design meant water goes everywhere unless one is really, really careful and the cleaning staff start vacuuming at 8am. I'd recommend the place, but these are the sorts of things that keep me from giving it a 5.

Once the new Museum finally opens this hotel will be even better located. 5 minutes walk to the New Acropolis road, 10 minutes to Plaka for restaurants and bars. Room was a little small (but the bed was huge and comfy!), and not much of a view, but very clean and comfortable. The view from the roof terrace is fantastic- if only the weather was warm enough to use the outdoor jacuzzi while looking up at the Acropolis...

Postivie: Location: Great location, safe and close to metro station acropolis. 5 minutes walk to acropolis and 15 mins to flee market. Safety: There are 2 girls in this trip and we feel safe around the neighborhood. Noise: Pretty quiet. (March) Room: Clean, comfortable, great breakfast. Can buy Euro in reception. Negative: Staff: Not very helpful with an attitude. A little short on patience. But that is about everywhere in Athen.

This Hotel is a great location and easy to find. It's close to the metro station and to major tourist sites. The staff is very helpful. The view from the roof top is great.

Very well located hotel - central but quiet. We always stay here when in Athens. Service is always very efficient, rooms are well proportioned and the new addition of roof terrace and rooftop jakuzi with view of the parthenon is icing on the cake.

Room was small, smelled of mildew, and was at the bottom of a four storey light well. Likely the hotel has much better rooms, but the rooms we had could have been in a hostel. If you decide to stay here take a room that has a window to the street.

The staff was outstanding and very helpful. The facilities are very relaxing and the breakfast was way beyond the normal "continental breakfast" you get in the states. The Olive Garden and rooftop gardens were phonomenal with a nitetime view of the Acropolis that is very romantic. The only complaints I would have is that you have to pay to use the jacuzzi and the beds were on the hard side, but I'm an American & used to more lavish facilities. Compared to what some other American have told me concerning places they stayed at in Athens, this was a really nice hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Hotels staff was very helpful,friendly,and spoke English well,the service was above any hotel you could stay at,the food was great,and their breakfast was wonderful.Clean rooms,good maid service,and their roof top overlooking the city was a big plus.All in all I would stay at this hotel any time I could.

The hotel staff were amazing, they took personal satisfaction in making your stay as comfortable as possible. The area was perfect, we sat on the garden roof every night and viewed the Acropolis, which was lit up at night. The Plaka was minutes away and I felt very safe walking around the city. This Hotel was definitly a 10 as far as I am concerned. Thank you so much for referring us to this Hotel.

It couldn't have been better. Great restaurant right next door, hotel food was good, breakfasts were ample for anybody's appitite. Definitely stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location just about 5-8 min walk to the Acropolis and about the same to the metro and Plaka. Awesome view of the Parthenon from the hotel roof. You do have to pay to use the hot tube though. Room is a little small but it isn't like your staying in the room all day.

Good stay. Refused the first 2 rooms we were shown but the third was exactly whast we'd asked for. Breakfast was great. Only negative was the extra charge for the rooftop jacuzzi's use.

Excellent location - easy, short walk to both the Acropolis and Plaka. Wonderful Taverna run by Mom and her daughter right next door with excellent traditional Greek fare at reasonable prices - took credit cards too! Clean rooms and helpful staff. Good variety at breakfast - loved the fresh fruit every morning! They will store your luggage for free if you are off on a two to three day tour. Only complaint and why I gave comfort a rate of 4 - pillows are hard as rock! Would definitley go back there again.

shower wall was slimy, and had hair in it. Paint was peeling off the walls of the room, sink stopper didn't work. Carpet was disgusting!! AC barely worked.

We had a great stay, everything was perfect except for the airconditioner that was leaking water and it dripped the whole night. We complained about it after our first night and it was promised to be fixed but nothing was done. It was the only thing that was negative. Great location just under acropolice.

Hotellet hadde hyggelige fellesarealer, men på rommene var det litt små og trange bad. God frokost. Beliggenheten er også meget sentral. Helt greit, men hadde forventet noe høyere standard på rommene, prisen tatt i betraktning.

Hotellet ligger 20 m fra det nye Akropolis museum og er et fremragende udgangspunkt for besøg på Akropolis og hele den gamle bydel, som ligger kun 3 min. gang fra hotellet. Desuden er maden god og personalet søde. Der er en dejlig helt ny tagterasse

Rigtigt fint hotel til pengene. Gode senge og super morgenbuffet. et sted vi gerne vender tilbage til.

Herodion ligger på gångavstånd både från Acropolis och "utelivskvarteret" Plaka, som är fullt av restauranger, shoppar, och cafeer. Det är rent och snyggt, har OK mat, och trevlig och professionell personal. Rummet var helt OK, lite litet möjligvis men det var ett enkelrum med queen-size säng så det var ju en OK kompromiss.

Herodion ligger på gångavstånd både från Acropolis och "utelivskvarteret" Plaka, som är fullt av restauranger, shoppar, och cafeer. Det är rent och snyggt, har OK mat, och trevlig och professionell personal. Rummet var helt OK, lite litet möjligvis men det var ett enkelrum med queen-size säng så det var ju en OK kompromiss.

Hotellet var ganske fint, men jeg vil nok vurdere det til 3 stjerner frem for 4.
