I've been staying at the Rosedale for 15 years and this was the first time I've been disappointed by it. Our room had been newly painted but the remainder of the furniture hasn't changed. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, the toilets near the dinning room were clean but horrid and the staff were on the whole very unhelpful. They watched 3 women, one aged 81, struggle to get cases out to a taxi.

We stayed at this hotel with our 3 small children for a weekend, and found it to be one of the worst hotels we've ever visited in the Vancouver area. Here are some of the frustrations we encountered: -Around 1:00 a.m., we were awakened by the hotel's fire alarms. We frantically carried our 5, 2, and 1 year old daughters, as well as our dog, through the smoke-filled halls and down the stairs to exit the hotel. As we waited outside for the firefighters to give us the okay, another guest alerted me to the fact that she stayed at this hotel about 2 weeks earlier and had the same experience with a "false alarm" in the hotel. The firefighters informed us, though, that this was not a false alarm, and that there was indeed an electrical fire in the 2nd floor laundry room that sent smoke upwards to other floors, including ours on the 3rd. Not knowing that the fire department already informed some of the guests of what happened, the night manager of the hotel told the guests that this was a "false alarm", and that everything was fine. This makes me question the "false alarm" that happened two weeks prior. Was it truly a false alarm, or was that one also a lie the hotel tried to pass around? -The hotel advertised air conditioned rooms. Our room was not cooling, so we had a worker come up to help us figure out what the problem was. The worker told us the problem was that the hotel rooms did not have A/C, and only had central fan units. After staying in the hot and stuffy room all weekend, at checkout we complained to the clerk about how uncomfortable the room was. She tersely asked, "Well, did you alert the front desk?" When we told her we had, she told us that the hotel does have central A/C and that the person who came to our room didn't know what he was talking about. They did reimburse us $200, which was fair, but we would rather have had a more comfortable room, especially with our three small children. -Our room's pull-out sofabed was in desperate need of replacement.

2 bedroom suite was perfect for our family (3 adults and 1 child). Pool and hot tub was good and they even have a treasure chest with toys for the kids.

2 bedroom with kitchenette a bit cramped for 6 people - fold-out couch/bed very uncomfortable for sleeping. Kitchenette very small but adequate. Cozy room in good location for Vancouver's site-seeing and shopping attractions.
