Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel - Dublin

Wir waren dort auf einer Hochzeit, es war alles so romantisch und die Zimmer sogar die Toileten waren wie im Schloss gestaltet. Über Hotels.com ist das Zimmer im Übrigen auch viel günstiger als über das Hotel direkt.

The Fitzpatrick is a very beautiful hotel with numerous amenities. Rooms are clean and elegant. We enjoyed the meals we ate there. The only negative is it is a little off the beaten path and takes some time to get to. All in all a very pleasant experience.

My two sons and I really enjoyed our stay in this elegant hotel. The only drawback for two teenagers was the fact that it was not right in Dublin--it's quite a hike to and from the Dart station and we were limited in how late we could stay in the city by the time of the last train. Also, we had a DVD mysteriously disappear from inside the case when we were gone for the day. We never used the DVD because we had nothing to play it on so someone must have taken it. We reported it to the desk and they were concerned but unable to really do anything about it.

This hotel was beautiful! Large comfortable bed, great gym, delicious food...about 15 minutes from Dublin by car, but worth it. There's also a train that will take you straight into Dublin for cheap only a 10 minute walk away in Dalkey.

The Fitzpatrick Castle is great. Dalkey is a great place to stay when visiting Dublin. Close enough to hop on the train, but away from the hustle. Great hiking right around the castle. Great staff also. I would love to stay here again.

Rooms did not live up to those depicted in brochure. Decor was dated and was badly in need of refurbishment. Staff were friendy but food and drink was expensive. Hotel is quite remote and there is not much in Dalkey or Killeney.

My 15 year old daughter and I travelled to Ireland for the first time and were very satisfied with the Fitzpatrick. It is not that close to Dublin, but a 10 minute walk into the quaint town of Dalkey will get you to the train that goes to Dublin in about 30 minutes. It was a little extra walking (we did not rent a car) but the area is absolutely beautiful. We saw a another area of Ireland that was worth seeing. Killiney Hill Park (turn left outside the gate) was amazing with stunning views of the sea when you get to the top. Definitley worth the walk. We also took the Wild Wicklow tour that picked us up right at the hotel. It was a very pleasant tour with a knowledgable and fun guide. Walk down to the harbor in Dalkey and be delighted by the seals feeding in the late afternoon. Dalkey is an interesting town with a castle and tour close to the hotel. There's even a Starbuck's in town! The staff at the Firtzpatrick was very accomodating and took care of any problems immediately. They gave us a room with an even better view when our phone was not working properly. Also, on our last night there, the room next to us had some late night partiers. I called the front desk to ask them to quiet them down, which they did. In the morning I found a letter of apology from the staff, offering us a complimentary Sunday brunch for the inconvience - very class act. Make sure to get the Patton Flyer bus to the Dublin airport to go home. We took a taxi down the hill to the bus stop. It is a very pleasant ride to stops along the way to the airport. I give the Fitzpatrick a "10"!

This was our third stay in Fitzpatrick's and we intend making it an annual treat if we can. The hotel has a lovely family friendly ambience with staff who always have time for a little chat while at the same time providing a prompt and professional service. The hotel restaurant is excellent; the pool is a big favourite with our children and the bedrooms are clean tidy and well appointed. The hotel is well connected to Dublin city centre - the Dart service is a very pleasant 10-15 mins walk from the hotel and will have you in the city centre in 25 mins. The setting is very attractive with Killiney Hill and the lovely streets leading to Dalkey village offerring breathtaking walks and views. Loads of options for sight seeing and dining out in the village. Dundrum shopping centre very close and the hotel is within easy reach of all parts from the M50. Throughly recommend this hotel.

I came to the 'Killiney Castle' as a return to Dublin after 25 years away - I was not disappointed - there is a nostalgic quaintness about this place which evokes memories of good old fashioned service with the charm that is Ireland. Chicken Soup For The Soul!

Beautiful, clean, fun resteraunts especially the Dungeon, spectacular service at a great price. What's not to like?

This hotel is well outside the town center, but is nestled within walking distance of a beautiful village with exquisite surroundings. It has a great pool and lovely bar with staff that is very helpful. My only complaint is that it was extremely difficult to get to. I would strongly advise that guests get directions to the hotel before arrival.

Fitzpatrick Castle is a comfortable hotel and we enjoyed our one week stay there. We only used one of the two restaurants (the Dungeon !) where there was a good choice on the menu. Breakfast was buffet style in the other restaurant and again there was an excellent choice albeit rather expensive (20? for a full breakfast). The public areas of the hotel were well decorated. In fact our only complaint was that our room was in need of some refurbishment (eg wallpaper peeling in places and stained tiles in shower) although the room was clean and comfortable. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful

I have to say, from the moment we trekked off the Dublin Dart and through the quaint neighborhood into the Fitzpatrick, we were taken away by the service, food, and the linens! Oh and did I say the views? The food at Dungeon was excellent including the wine and deserts. Also, our concierge guy gave us top priority as any 5 star hotel would and we truly enjoyed our stay. Our room was facing the sunset side (facing the front of the hotel) and took great pictures off our balcony. The way to get to the hotel may be tricky. If arriving by Dart through Dublin City, exit the DALKEY station and not the one after that. Make sure to stay ot the right as you exit the station and towards the neighborhood. Be careful for the narrow streets and oncoming traffic. Near the station (DALKEY) towards the ocean you will find the local shops and restaurants if want to venture out. Give yourself about half hour to get from Dalkey station to the clubs in Dublin and vice versa since the station closes at 11:00 p.m. We highly recommend this hotel for all its splendour!! The hotel was very comfortable, clean and decorated nicely. The staff were very curtious and helpful during our stay as well. I think myself and the people I was with were probably the youngest people staying at that hotel (no offense, but it seemed many of the people staying there looked to be 50+ and we are in our late 20's). The only thing about the hotel is the distance from Dublin city center. A cab ride cost us between 24-31 Euro one way. You could walk down to the Dalkey Village and take the train or bus but if you were going/coming late at night, the train and buses would have stopped running. There is a beautiful park within walking distance from the hotel with great views of Dublin Bay and the surrounding area as well. I was ultimately very satisfied with my stay there and I would definitely recommend it to someone who was say, my parents age. Next time I visit, I will probably stay in the city. I would not recommend this hotel for someone under 30.

Our one night stay in this hotel was a very nice escape from nearby Dublin city center. The restaurants inside the hotel were very good with good service. We upgraded to an executive suite upon arrival, and our room was quite lovely with an ocean view. Our only complaint is the fact that we were able to hear everything in the next room, which included an extremely noisy child. Although our escape did not lead to a good nights sleep, the hotel staff was quite accomodating when the matter was brought to their attention and happily rectified the situation. I would reccomend this hotel but would use extreme caution when picking a room.

TOO FAR FROM CITY CENTER. OTHERWISE GREAT IN ALL OTHER ASPECTS.

This is a large hotel which seems geared particularly to wedding events. The dungeon bar was closed for a private event on one night of our stay leaving only the soulless lounge bar available. We chose instead to sit out in the lobby area but had only one drink due to the all pervading smell from the kitchens which hits you as soon as you walk in. The whole downstairs smelled like a cheap carvery! The rooms were clean, but without air conditioning got very hot, as our visit was in May and we had relatively cool weather I would hate to think what it would be like in summer. To cap off our stay, someone decided to pour a bag of sugar down the air intake of our car while parked in the hotel car park. Although this is not directly the hotels fault, they could not have been less interested when we reported the matter and asked for assistance (my wife queued to report the matter behind a guest checking out complaining of sickness due to the food, who was also ignored).

We found the facility to be outstanding and the hotel staff to be extremely accommodating, efficient, and pleasant. We spent a lot of time walking around the area, up to the top of a nearby hilltop park and down to the coast and there were plenty of interesting sights to see. The hotel recommended a great little restaurant a short taxi ride away.

I have stayed there twice but unfortunately I always get a room without a view. Last time I stayed there my colleague did get a nice room but alsa I was looking at cement walls. Thats is too bad as there are such incredible views. My room was small but adequate and the bed was very careful. The food was good but I would have personally wished for more chjoices in the reception bar area for food types.

My wife and I spend our honeymoon on Fitzpatrick hotel. We were not dissapointed. Our stay was a pleasent one, and we had ourselves three lovely days in Dublin. It`s location, some 40 minutes by dart outside the city centre, suited us perfectly. Away from the noisy town centre, and just minutes away from small villages like Dalkey and the lovely coastal town of Bray. Recommended.
