Viele beschweren sich über zu kleine Zimmer. Das empfanden wir selbst mit drei Personen nicht so. Zwar kein Ballsaal aber ausreichend groß und ruhig gelegen. Wenn sich alle etwas bemühen, läßt sich auch die Hellhörigkeit im Rahmen halten. Alte Häuser können nuneinmal nicht so schallisoliert sein. Das Frühstück ist für italienische Verhältnisse sehr gut und die "guten Hausgeister" sind ausnehmend freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Geräumiges, geschmackvoll eingerichtetes ZImmer (trotz Zustellbett noch sehr gemütlich), hyg.: Parkett und trotzdem Frotteehausschuhe (Sauberkeit!), tägl. aufgefüllte kleine Cafebar mit Wasserkocher im Zimmer, nettes Personal an Rezeption und im Restaurant, gute Lage (wenn man Hotel erst mal gefunden hat ;-)! Genügend Bügel für Kleidung! Kommentar des Nachwuchs: kleines TV im Bad: super-cooooolll!

Room was very comfortable even with a 4 year old as well as my wife and I. Excellent location. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic stay at the Starhotel Splendid. Very central hotel with staff that really look after you. The rooms were furnished to an excellent standard and felt really luxurious. Having breakfast in a room where you were covered over but could see the sky was fantastic and the food delicious. Only thing that could possibly be improved was the reception staff who could do with some customer service training. I would have fainted if they had cracked a smile!!

Hotel is conveniently located near the St. Mark's Square & Realto Bridge. Also located near a number of nice restaurants and cafes. The staff was multilingual and very friendly and helpful. Gondola rides were available only a few yards from the hotel entrance. We were able to easily walk to all tourist attractions we were interested in seeing. The appearance of building exteriors can be very misleading in this city, but the hotel interior and our room were very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. We felt fortunate to locate this lovely little hotel and it more than met our needs while we were in Venice. Although this hotel is part of a chain, it had the warm feel of an independently owned hotel.

Although this hotel was modern, our bedroom was only large enough for a queen size bed. There was barely enough room for our suitcases. The bathroom was large and modern, but it smelled like sewage. When we complained, they sent up a can of room spray! The minuses definitely outweigh the pluses for this hotel.

The hotel is very convenient if you know where you are going. We got a little lost finding the hotel because we arrived at night. Specific instructions would have been helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many if not most of the area attractions. The hotel room was the usual normal small size we associate with Europe, but very well appointed and very clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.

Thoroughly modern yet satisfyingly traditional, this hotel is a wonderful shot of instant Italy. Like all of Venice it is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. We loved its quiet, discreet character that put us in holiday mood from the start. Perfectly positioned between San Marco and Rialto, it made every second of our time even more precious. It was like a dream too, nobody put a foot wrong - not once, not ever - the best hotel experience we've ever had.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights from 16-19 July 09 after reading the reviews on this website. This hotel is in a fantastic location, turn left and you are a few minutes away from Rialto bridge, turn right and you are a nearly in Piazza San Marco. The rooms were very clean, a little small, but that didnt bother me. The breakfast was OK in comparison to some of the other European hotels I have stayed at, there's plenty of fruit, cereals and croissants. The staff were very attentive and the hotel service was great. We got a water taxi from the airport to directly outside the hotel which was fantastic and worth doing, especially if you are going to Venice for the first time or arrive late evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is thinking of staying in Venice.

Great location - just a short walk from St Mark's square. Hotel has a real urban hip feel to it. The rooms are really clean with all the conveniences. The breakfast was hearty and tasty. The staff was helpful. I would recommend this to friends and family.

Fantastic location - 3 minutes walk from Rialto bridge and only 5 minutes from St. Marks Square. The Hotel is in a lovely quiet spot and the rooms are just like in the pictures. Breakfast will set you up for the day. Truly a Four Star Hotel.

This hotel was perfect for our 25th Anniversary stay in Venice. Only 5 minutes walk from either the Rialto Bridge or Piazza San Marco. The room (107) was spotless, beautifully decorated and well equipped, including TV in bathroom, with a lovely view overlooking the dock entrance to the hotel by the bridge and the shopping streets below. There were always a couple of gondoliers touting for business (but always in a friendly way). This was fun to watch out of the window. The staff were courteous and helpful, spoke good English and made us feel welcome. We ate in the restaurant one night. We enjoyed the food and wine very much The price for 2 courses, including Prosecco, was very reasonable for the quality and service we received (staff even sang Happy Birthday to the table next to us). We thought this compared very well with the other 'white tablecloth' restaurants we considered.

It had to be good after 25 happy years. A hotel can make or break a holiday however brief. I am happy to say that this hotel is wonderful. Although the rooms are great and the breafast is all you could wish for the real bonus is the staff. They couldn't have been friendlier, more welcoming or helpful. This included rushing around handing out umbrellas on on stormy morning. The room was clean and certainly large enough with a King sized bed and a view out over the canal. Another bonus was that it was easy to find.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is right on one of the many canals in Venice. You can get a gondola right outside the hotel. Very near the hustle and bustle of St. Mark's square and Rialto Bridge. The hotel staff was great especially the manager Piero, and Claudia at guest relations. Would definitely stay there again and at their other locations.

everything about the trip was great. the hotel location was ideal for all sights,the staff were friendly,the food in hotel restaraunt was quite expensive ,but worth it.I would stay at this hotel again.

An absolute find especially compared with the usual Venice standard. Even though this is in the middle of the San Marco scum, once inside the Star Splendid is elegant, peaceful, understated and with great service. I've been to Venice many times and expected the usual unjustifed expense. A very very pleasant surprise.

The staff was excellent, bed very comfortable and the location perfect for walking around Venice. The staff arranged for a water taxi to airport and even made us a breakfast to go at 3 am. Great place.

Perfectly located in the center of Venice. The only downside to that is if you have any amount of luggage, you really need to spend the money for a water taxi from the airport. Otherwise, if you take the water bus, you have to haul your luggage through Venice and up some steps. It's doable, but just know what you're getting into. Room was nice but very small, even by European standards. Staff tried to be very helpful and made some great restaurant recommendations.

ThisHotel was fine - breakfast good and room clean. bed was too hard though. bathroom great. What let it down was the concirege service - we were there for four nights - more than the average stay in enice BUT whenever we asked for help from reception we were made to feel we were the prblem. Suprising really for this clss hotel especially when two fothe four times we contacted them was to ask if our room could be cleaned - at 4.00 p.m. still not done after we had been out all day. To crown it all on the last day of our stay there was a transprot strike. We are advised in all solemness that the only was to the airport would sensible y be to take a water taxi at the cist of 110 euros. Crazy for two people when we had tickets on thelocal transport sytem. Not only did the desk inform me that they couldn't help me and why did iwant to know at 7.00 a.m ( i patiently explained that i thought htey may know what was happening in the city and it was tradiional for reception/ concirege to know these little detials about hotel/airport transfer).any way we maange to establish that the ALLILUNGS SERVICE WAS SORKING. When we got tothe Sop it tuned out that the VENICE TRANSPORT AOUTHORITES HAD MADE ANNOUCMENTS THAT certain key services would run for touristts to get to the airiport at prcisely the ime we needed it. this was too late ofr us and i wondered why this hotel did not care enough about it 'guests to make the simplest enquires on the internet/in the newspaper.

The Hotel was nice and breakfast was really good. Good service. My son spent the first night on the sofa bed, which was old and extremely uncomfortable. But they did bring a roller bed the next day and that was fine. Everything else in the room was working well and my bed had a great matress. I do recommend this Hotel.

A very well located hotel between the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Sq - very clean and tip top. The staff were extremely professional and the food was consistently very good. We did experience some unwelcome late evening noise but this could have been solved if we had had air conditioning in our room. In all though, a great choice of hotel, which we would definitely recommend! If we ever had occasion to visit Venice again, we would certainly book this hotel for our next visit!

hotel well placed from st marks square.probably would have walked by it if my daughter hadnt looked back back and seen the name.As we arrived after dark this could have caused a longer walk but isnt that the point of Venice. The hotel was lovely from the time we walked in to when we left.Modern and clean with a pleasant atmosphere.We did not have a room with a view but im sure they were there if you requested one. Highly recommended

My husband and I stayed with our 1 year old baby at this hotel for 4 days and were very impressed. We were upgraded free of charge to a suite at check-in (the hotel was not full) and the suite was simply gorgeous with spacious rooms, jacuzzi bath and 2 flat screen TVs. It was a little difficult to find the hotel at first (the map they sent us was not very detailed), but once we found it, we discovered it is perfectly centrally located between St Marks and Rialto. It could potentially be a little noisy, but staying in the suite allowed us to close the doors to the bathroom and lounge area which overlooked the outside shops and then it was very quiet. The hotel was immaculately clean and staff were very friendly. The decor was also an elegant mix of old and new. The breakfast was good quality though not a huge selection, but sufficient to keep us going for a large part of the day (especially because eating out in Venice is so expensive!) We also had dinner at the hotel one evening though this was quite pricey, but good quality. Venice is not that baby friendly (especially with a pram) but the hotel did have high chairs and made up a very nice baby travel cot in the room. All in all we had a lovely stay at this hotel and would go back again.

An excellent hotel, we booked a family room for 2 adults and a 9 year old, when we arrived they said they had upgraded us to a Deluxe!! Fab lots of room and very comfortable. The Decor all over the hotel was superb. The bar service was a bit slow and miserable but we didn't care as everything else perfect. Plus excellent location, we had no problem finding it with our own map.

This hotel was excellent! The location, the staff, the rooms, the bar, the view - it all surpassed our expectations and everyone agreed it was perfect. It was worth every penny!! The only negative was the breakfast - the food was wonderful, but the host was not. I was with a group and we went at different times but sometimes together. The host would only let you eat once and was not understanding if you just wanted to sit with your friend(s) while they enjoyed their breakfast. It made it uncomfortable.

I was looking for a good hotel in venice for the last two months, I was glad to make the right choice with the Starhotels, I wish I stayed with them when I visited Rome and florance.

3 girls and myself stayed in Venice for two nights at the start of December and had a fantastic time. The hotel was in a perfect location we could walk everywhere and the waterbus stop was less than a 5min walk. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly we got such a warm welcome. The rooms we stayed in were beautiful. We had a perfect weekend and I would definately recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at Starhotels Splendid Venice. The accomodations and service was excellent. The dining experience and food within the hotel's restaurant was outstanding. The overall service was excellent. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I am looking forward to return to Venice very soon.

The hotel is in an excellent location, just 2 minutes walk to St Mark's square and 5 minutes to Rialto bridge. Very clean and nicely decorated, good breakfast and friendly staff. No complaints

Location! Location! Location! About 10 minutes walking (maximum) from both St. Mark´s Square and the Rialto Bridge. The staff was very responsive. The rooms were big by European standards and the were nicely decorated. The bed was a good size queen bed which was very comfortable with nice bedding and extra pillows. My only slight complaint was the warm temperature in the room, even with the thermostat off. I was not sure why, but an open window cured it. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for just one night - but found the staff extremely helpful... they even emailed bus and boat schedules before our arrival. The stafff was courteous and helpful. We had two rooms and both were clean, quiet and very comfortable. We totally enjoyed the stay as well as the convenience to several of the nearby attractions. Would definately stay there again!

Fantastic Hotel in central location. Staff were very friendly - so welcoming. Rooms amazing - beds so comfortable. Loved the slippers and robes. Very new and trendy feel. Loved the white bedding. Bathrooms clean and well stocked - great decor. Fab location in the middle of San Marco & Relato. Our room over looked canal with gondola's punting past - just perfect Venice. Breakfast great - good choice. Loved the pictures around the hotel of past Venice in blacj & White. Great to have own jetty - although at high tide water taxi's can't access due to the low bridges. Can't wait to return.

Splendid hotels is extremely well located in the centre of venice. Staff were helpful, and hotel was great although superior room was on the small side but breakfast made up for it.

This hotel is in a prime location between St. Mark's and the Rialto bridge. For first timers to Venice I would highly recommend this hotel. We arrived late at night and the hotel was easy to find. My girlfriend and I would recommend this hotel to our family.

After much internet searching we chose this hotel for our honeymoon..we weren't disappointed recently refurbished it was all we hoped and more! Nicely decorated rooms with fabulous large bathroom ;we had a wetroom with tv in the bathroom!! Communal areas beautiful and inviting. Staff helpful with right balance of care and efficency without being oppresive. Breakfast great and if we are lucky can have it by the hotels canal or under the glass canopy and see the sky! Restaurant at night superb and i ate my nicest meal there. In short we will be going back again, great value for money which i can really recommend

Ideal location between St Marks and Rialto. The hotel is newly refurbished and very attractively decorated throughout in a modern style.

Eventually the refurbishment will be nice I'm sure but I was very disapppointed that a 4 star hotel expected guests not to mind that they were being awoken at 8:15 am to the noise of hammer drills as they were upgrading the hotel around us. Rooms were clean and modern and beds very comfortable but service was very hit and miss. We were in the superior rooms but, of the three rooms our party used, only one had tea and coffee making facilities, one had very poor water pressure in the shower and one had their beds turned down and choclates on the pillow each night! Despite this, the location is great:half-way between the Rialto and St Mark's square.

Et hotell som anbefales på det varmeste. Topp beliggenhet og et koseligt og serviceinnstillt personell. Vi har 3 par i lag, der alle var like godt fornøyd.

Hotellet var svårt att hitta så se till att skriva ut en ordentlig karta innan. Trevlig personal, rena fina rum och framförallt snyggt och rent badrum. Location var bra, även om det är mkt folk runt marcusplatsen som ibland är jobbigt. Kan verkligen rekommendera detta hotell till både par i alla åldrar eller barn familjer. Frukostbuffèn var fräsch och tillfredställande.

Fantastisk hotel, dejlig rent og med dejlig smilende og rart personal. Rengøring hver dag, morgenmads buffeten super - og dejlig betjening. Ligger fantastisk hvis du skal bo i Venedig - dejlig tæt på forretninger - og alt hvad hjertet begærer for en ferie i venedig. Dejlige store værelser - super indretning - ovenud tilfreds. Klart ikke sidste gang vi besøger Starhotels om det bliver i Venedig eller en anden by hvor disse hoteller findes.

Klass-hotell med nära till allt, inklusive gondoler, vattenbussar, St Markus-platsen o Grande Canale. Lite svårt att hitta till första gången.
