Palmen – Das ungezwungene Atriumrestaurant mit Bar serviert ganztägig Drinks und leichte Gerichte.
Etoile Bar – Bar im Lounge-Stil in der achten Etage, mit Panoramablick und einer Außenterrasse, die je nach Wetterlage geöffnet ist.
Limelight Bar – Lobbybar im englischen Stil mit Ledersesseln. Hier werden Drinks und Aperitifs serviert.

Es war das einzige 5-Sterne Hotel meiner Nordeuropa-Städtereise und qualitativ das schlechteste. Wegen der lauten Klimaanlage, die mir einige Tage zusätzlich Halsweh bescherte, obwohl ich sie ab der 2. Nacht , abstellte, bin ich nach der ersten Nacht in ein etwas leiseres Zimmer umgezogen, in dem ich dennoch nur mit Ohropax Ruhe fand. Auch einige blasierte Hotelgäste ließen bei mir keine richtige Wohlfühlstimmung aufkommen, so daß ich dort nicht nochmal einchecken würde. Allerdings war der Schnäppchenpreis für meine 3 Nächte im Grand Hotel wegen dessen zentraler Lage , des reichhaltigen Frühstücksbuffets und des hilfbereiten Personals gerechtfertigt.

The Hotel is probably not really a 5 star hotel. Nevertheless, the location is the best of all hotels I saw in Oslo. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast is also really good (great selection!).

Ich kann dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen,die Lage ist ideal, man kann vieles zu Fuß erreichen. Erwähnenswert ist noch die Freundlichkeit des Personals.

As I understand this hotel is undergoing rennovations but the room I had was old, dated and worn. Having said that, the location was fabulous and the rate was very competitive. The breakfast buffet was extensive. The hotel's 'gym' was a disappointment as it was just a small guest room with two mirrors and 3 cardio machines - no weights, no space to stretch, no free weights, etc. I would recommend this hotel for the price and location only. I would not have rated this hotel a 4 or 5 star when comparing to other 4 and 5 star hotels in Norway and throughout Europe.

We chose the hotel mainly for the fact that we could enjoy a five star hotel on a three star price and any disapointments we could write down to experience. It appeared we got a gem for other facts: great central location, excellent service and food, historical background. Some suggestions for improvement: 1. Inform traveller from the begining about the parking being limited to 1.9 m. I had to back out my minibus up the ramp and almost burned down the cluch. 2. Inform the traveller about the OSLO PASS and how to use it to suit his needs. I was informed that the parking was not included in the price of the room, subsequantly informed that I could use the PASS as a parking ticket on streets around the hotel but only after being directed to a privat parking, with a fee higher than the cost of the OSLO PASS. 3. The mold on the sealing around the bathtub isn't estetic. Change it more frequantly.

Great hotel experience! This is a beautiful hotel, very nicely decorated and luxurious. Located right on the strip in the center of Oslo, so it's very easy to access many of the sights as well as lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Close to the subway system, too. I know there is a shuttle or something to get from the airport, but unfortunately we took a taxi - very, very pricey! Check out the shuttle before you arrive. The room included a sumptuous breakfast buffet in the cafe every morning. Very comfortable bed and large bathroom with a big tub as well as a narrow stall shower. Our room looked out over the square in front of the Stortinget. Great view of all the activity going on. Can get a bit loud with the windows open - Oslo is a late-night city. The windows and drapes would have shut out most of the revelry, but we opted for the fresh air despite the noise. We were there during a Norway Scotland football match (which Norway won!) and the city was filled with boisterous Scotsmen in kilts. I will always associate Oslo with drunken 3am renditions of "Scotland the Brave" played on bagpipes!

Great hotel with lovely, bi-lingual helpful staff right in the centre of the main street in Oslo (Karl Johanes Gate), walking distance to Royal Palace, exciting waterfront etc. Lucky enough to enjoy Oslo Jazz, Rock & Mela festivals. Great breakfast, but don't go near the mini bar !

The Grand Hotel Oslo appears to be the landmark hotel of this capital city. Whereas the Hotel may have seen better days, it is still Grand and certainly in a good location at the center of everything.

Absolutely top class and well worth the extra couple of pounds per night. First impression you get when you walk into the magnificent foyer is breathtaking and you won't be dissapointed with the rest of your stay.Don't miss the swimming and sauna on level seven and if you have any questions or problems the ever friendly staff will be only too eager to help. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Positives: central location right across from Parliament, and a beautiful park; breakfast buffet with huge choice of options in the Grand Cafe, a beautiful old restaurant; decent-sized room for a single; efficient staff. Negatives: light fixture broken in bathroom (track lighting bulb hanging down). I didn't tell them about it until I left, so can't comment on how quickly they responded. This wasn't a big enough problem to detract from an overall very positive experience.

Elegant hotel in the middle of the city and only a couple of blocks' walk to the Aker Brygge and the harbor. They upgraded our room to a suite, but even the regular room my daughter and son-in-law had was roomy. It was full of 19th century charm with huge windows that let in plenty of light in spite of their facing an inner courtyard. The ultra-modern, sparkling bathrooms were an added plus for me. The restaurant and their morning buffet did not disappoint either.

This hotel was really impressive, facilities were great, nice breakfast, clean room and was for us an overall lovely place to stay. To top it all, we got great value booking for 4 nights we qualified for special 40% discount which made the bill very reasonable and its bang in the centre of Oslo, convenient to all the facilities, sightseeing and transport!!

Although we normally prefer an ultra modern hotel we chose this for its central location. Even though central it was so quiet. The location was second to none a 10min walk to both train and bus stations . Alovely 5 min stroll to the Harbour to restaurants and bars.2 mins to lovely parks and the royal Palace. We were given a huge room with sofa desk and huge comfy bed. Bathrooms were okay nice fluffy robes and slippers and designer toilitries. The breakfast were huge and the restaurant was lovely. Unfortunately never got to try the pool as we had fantastic weather but it looked fab. The staff were very helpful. Would definately stay here again in comparison to other hotels we looked at for another few pounds push the boat out and have some history and luxury and a Cocktail on the roof. The highlight was the roof terrace and cocktail bar WOW. Sit and sip a cocktail with stunning views of the city and the waterfront. This was obviously the in place to go and as the nights are light is buzzing till well into the early hours.

No reflection on the staff as they were helpful but this hotel was a disappointment. Room was very modest and small things like a broken bath plug that didn't fit were irritating. Breakfast was a battle to get a clean table and the food was very average. The 'gym' consisted of a tiny room with 3 machines one of which didn't work but the pool was nice. Overall would say this hotel needs some refurbishment in order to deliver what it promises.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for three nights last week . It is a truly wonderful hotel from the moment you enter the lobby you feel that you have stepped back in time to another era .Our bed room was small but nicely decorated the ensuite was excellent. Its the great breakfast in the Grand Cafe that impressed us most,the variety and quality of food was great.We had dinner there on one night to be highly reccomended.

Although the hotel is found in an exceptionally good position in the centre of Oslo we felt that it certainly did not provide the service expected of a 5 star hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean and provided a well stocked mini bar and complementary tea and coffee (but no milk!) Service was very basic in the restaurant at breakfast. On our first morning breakfast was not available in the Grand Cafe and was served elsewhere. Possibly due to limited space it was very basic and disappointing. The hot food was cold and had been sat there for ages!! The next morning it was better but certainly I have had better breakfasts in hotels of a lower rating. The Leisure area is very nice and was lovely to return to after a day in the snow. Although disappointing I would stay again, but only if at a reasonable price. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone with mobility problems.

Staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Upon arrival we found there had been a flood in the hotel and our room was near the damaged area. Unfortunately we had to stay there but the next night they did give us an upgrade and moved our belongings. Also thought the breakfast was excellent

The hotel is situated in the centre of the City, everything is just a short walk away, including the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, the Harbour & Quayside, numerous cafes & restaurants and local transport either by Tube or Bus. Excellent transport service by train from the Airport to a station within 200 metres of the Grand Hotel. Food in the restaurants is equivalent to London prices but the cost of local transport is over half the cost of UK prices. The Grand Hotel Cafe is the venue for Breakfast - an excellent meal, eat as much as you like from a huge choice - every breakfast food imaginable & this is all included in the cost of the room!

In spite of his tradition and location, in the very center of Oslo, Grand Hotel is a good 4 stars hotel, not more. Breckfast is good, but variety of fresh fruits and pastries is lacking, nor is room service without faults. Nonostante la tradizione e la posizione, l'hotel non va oltre un buon 4 stelle. La colazione difetta di varietà soprattutto nella frutta e nei dolci. Anche la pulizia delle camere non è ineccepibile.

Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer ziet er goed uit. Het ontbijt is echt top. Goed verzorgd en met een ruim aanbod. Bovendien zijn er vele medewerkers die het ontbijt af maken: serveersters, een kok die actief is.
