The highlight of my stay was the rooftop. Free WIFI is not available. It's an additional cost. Rooms are super small, and you have to call housekeeping for an iron and ironing board.

The Thompson was a beautiful hotel and in a great location for Beverly Hills action; it was pretty far from the Hollywood tourist attractions, but we managed with cabs (pricey); there was one problem with the Thompson concerning service (it was exemplary with the exception of the Rooftop Lounge). We went up there the first night in town looking for a cocktail and the great views; the rooftop bar services the hotel but also serves as a private "club"; I understand the economics of that situation, but it creates horrible service for the hotel guests, if you happen to be over 23 years old. The waitresses ignore anyone that is not a romantic prospect and several guests were greatly annoyed by their attitude, including us. Replacing the current staff of waitresses with professional staff would make this hotel quite perfect.

It was a great experience, dervie was very good, the location is wonderful and the hotel is very nice.Great contemporary decor. The hotel has a beautiful roof deck woth amazing city views and great cocktails at the bar.

The Thompson Beverly Hills is one of those modern glam hotels where you expect to see (and do see) the beautiful people, Europeans, Hollywood types, and just a fun eccliectic mix of individuals. The concierege was AWESOME! They scheduled a hair and makeup person to come to my room, suggested places to go, and were just so helpful. The bed was AMAZING and so comfortable. It is really hard for me to sleep in many hotel beds, but this one reminded me of my own from home. (Just a lot lower to the ground!) The only complaint is that I had no idea Beverly Hills had so much traffic. Even on the 5th floor and away from the Wilshire side of the hotel, it was noisy for me....but I'm used to complete quiet at home. And Bond St. has the most wonderful cod. I am seriously wanting too visit LA again, just for the food at Bond Street restaurant downstairs. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

The hotel staff is excellent and the location is very good.

Outstanding location, walk to Rodeo Drive, Spago,s. Hotel room very small but comfortable, outstanding service.

The staff was very attentive and the hotel is gorgeous! The view from the rooftop is amazing and the room was very comfortable and clean. The restaurant BondSt was absolutely delicious. All in all it was the best hotel experience ever!

I thought the location was great. Though a bit overpriced. The overall style of the hotel is not in the best of tastes, although the service is first quality, and the beds are extremely comfortable. People at the front desk and all the employees do everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, which makes a difference.

I only stayed here for one night to ring in the new year but from the moment I walked in I was in awe of everything from the hospitality to the stylish decor. When I got out of the elevator and saw the black walls and runway lights I was so excited, it was too hip to be true. The room admittedly was a bit small but it was the most stylish hotel room I have ever seen. I loved this hotel!

The rooms looked great on the website and not what we expected once we arrived. The bed was low and we both kept banging into the edge of the bed when walking around. The hallways were very dark. The room was dark and the floors were very worn. The room looked like it needed updating. The bathroom was large enough but very dark. The location was great. It was one block to Rodeo Drive.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great and the rooftop bar and pool area is something to NOT be missed. I would stay in this hotel again for that alone. The staff is typical LA staff..(they are better than the position they hold) but the front desk manager upon our departure was spot on for excellent customer service. When I read the reviews..many guests thought the room was too dark...I do not agree with that at all. I thought the lighting of the room was perfect, yes a bit dim, but we all look better in dim lighting. I would stay in this hotel again.

Sevice was outstanding and the location was wonderful for my purposes. Hotel restuarant and bar area are very appealing.

The service is low-key but attentive, the valet service is helpful 24-hours a day, even during busy times of the year, the hotel itself is modern and not stuffy, and the roof makes this hotel special. 360 degree view of L.A., heated pool, nicely appointed cabanas.

The hardwood floors in the guestrooms are lovely but you can hear people walking or moving about about you. Also, the walls are very thin - so much so I could hear people coughing (or worse yet going the bathroom) next door. While the design/aesthetic is great, the sense of lack of privacy combined with mediocre/inconsistent service don't make this hotel worth the price. If it were less expensive, I would say go for it.

For the price it absolutely exceeded my expectations on all levels...it is the kind of hotel that if you didn't have to leave would be very comfortable and very much feels like a vacation. The rooftop is stunning...amazing views and very well done. Will certainly return.

There is everything you need at this hotel, and the entire staff wants to ensure you enjoy your stay there.

The best part about this hotel was the roof top bar and pool. It has amazing views of L.A. I was disappointed though that the bar was closed due to weather ( I think that might of been code for it's the slow season and not worth their time to open it). Location was great, our room had a balcony, comfortable bed... Overall, it was a very nice hotel, however I was not pleased to have to pay for parking and wished there was a coffee machine in the room. The lighting is very dark for doing makeup and getting ready but the dim lighting was great for the ambiance of the room.

Great hotel, very clean and hip with a choice of three buzzing bars. Rooms where an useable size and all staff where SO friendly and helpfull. Not located near many bars and resturants but good location if you want to be close to shops.

This hotel is top of the line I would highly recommend staying at this here.

The hotel tried to make the rooms appear modern. As a result, the lighting was very poor causing us to stumble around when there was no daylight available. The bathroom lighting was so bad that my wife was unable to apply make-up. Also, the staff was inexperienced resulting in poor service.

Very happy with my stay. Location is fabulous. Hotel is very trendy.

The Thompson is a great hotel. Location, ambiance all what you'd expect. One of the two elevators was out of service which made waiting a bit longer than it should have. The staff was friendly and courteous but you could tell many of them were very new and fearful of making a mistake. Nevertheless we enjoyed it very much.

We had a west facing, upper floor room which provided wonderful sunsets. A new building is being constructed so the view may change. The roof deck included covered space which made daytime use possible. Great views. On site valet parking is twice the going rate compared to nearby public garages. On street parking is not really available. Rodeo Drive was within walking distance. It is more hype than reality. If you are doing Pacfic Coast Highway, try from the north going south in the afternoon when the sun is on the mountains. The canyon roads are more dramatic going down than up.

Had a great stay there, especially thank to the beautiful roof area and pool!!

quite pretentious, but walking distance from a variety of restaurants ranging from cheap to expensive. hotel was a bit worn, but the rooftop pool bar has great views over LA (and if you like drinking overpriced drinks from a plastic cup...)

Stayed for 3 nights in August in a standard double room. Room was clean with the most comfortable bed I have found in a hotel anywhere. Location was good for shopping and centrally located for the sights of LA but not great for reasonably priced dining in the evenings - most places were top end (as I guess you would expect from BH). Watch out for extras in the hotel (parking at $28 per night, expensive room service) and don't expect to be overly welcome at the rooftop bar in the evenings unless you have a lot of money to spend and are sporting a rolex. Overall, nice hotel with a stunning pool on the roof but a bit pretentious and overpriced in my opinion.

The bar in this place was the hottest spot in Beverly Hills, and now that the roof deck is open, I can only imagine how packed it must be! Otherwise, the hotel was typical for its class, which is a good thing.

I stayed for 4 nights - had to move after the first due to a really annoying tapping noise from a service closet next to my room all thru the night. The staff were all very friendly & the design of the hotel is very retro modern. Beware that Wilshire is a very busy road & could be noisy at times, though the location is excellent. Overall I was satisfied & would stay there again.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic location. It is ideally located for exploring most areas of LA including Beverly Hills, Melrose, Santa Monica and Venice. Great shopping - both boutiques and department stores are nearby. The service of the hotel is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable and extremely well kept. The staff is very polite and corteus. A great place to stay!
