Alles war super, nur das Personal war sehr kühl und ohne Lächeln,selbst davon unfreundlich und kurz ab. Für so ein Hotel finde ich sie falsch am Platz.

Great location next to St. Mark's square. We had a spacious twin room at top of hotel. Very quiet so a good night's sleep. Help yourself breakfast with view over gondola basin.

A very good choice. over looking the gondola park if you have canal view. great entertainment people watching from our room.lovely hotel just off st mark square. Clean roomand tidy hotel, nice staff breakfast ok.

IN THE CENTER OF VENICE BY THE SQ TRIPS ON THE WATER GREAT JUST OUT SIDE FRONT DOOR. BED ROOM NOT BIG , BATHROOM OK GOOD SIZE. OVERALL GREAT PLACE TO STAY.

It was our first time in Venice and we did not know what to expect. The staff was very helpful and the location was great. It is about a 45 second walk to San Marco Square. We had a view of the canal from our room which was an unexpected suprise. The room was small, but that was what we expected. Overall, we thought the combincation of the service, location and condition of the hotel made our stay in Venice extremely nice.

Location, Location, Location! right in the heart of St. Marcos Square. Water Taxi can drop off and pick you up right at the hotel entrance (provided that it is low tide).

I had stayed at the hotel before so I knew it was well situated and comfortable. Since I last stayed there the hotel had changed to a Best Western. The rooms were much smaller than I remembered. The staff at the reception desk were not welcoming and were unhelpful. The staff in the dining room however were very pleasant. I would stay there again since the position of the hotel is wonderful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the gondolas go by it was magic!

Fantastic location , but the rooms are very " tired " and in need of updating but only minutes from St marks Square so enjoyed our night there

The bed was as hard as a rock. They needed to elevate the head of the bed because it is sloping downhill. We had to put the pillows at the foot of the bed so we could sleep.

Perfect Location ,few step to St.Mark -Our room right on a canal - access to the Gandoles and facing Hard Rock caffee. Room is well decorated and clean bath but small same as all others in Venice . Breakfast is good -nice staff. You find all you need.

We picked this hotel because we were only in Venice for one day and wanted to be close to St. Marco Piazza.. which its very close to. So, that was nice. Otherwise room was really pretty small, probably worst overall hotel I've stayed in Europe. But, location made up for it. IF you're in Venice for a while, I'd go somewhere else. But, if you want to be close to the sights.. this isn't too bad a place.

The accomodations were excellent the location was perfect. The staff members were great. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Easy to find for first timers to Venice. Room small but OK. Breakfast is big plus for this hotel as we found eating out pretty expensive and variable quality and found we didn't need to stop for lunch after tucking in at breakfast time! Bar very expensive. Hotel were happy to store our luggage after checking out.

Very nice hotel conveniently located just steps from San Marco square. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable and the bar tender made a great (although expensive) cocktail. We were able to take a gondola right from the door of the hotel. The only problem was that due to an airline problem we had to leave a day earlier than planned and we could not get a refund for our last night's stay even though hotels.com guarantees this. I will not use hotels.com again because of this. As you can imagine this increased our price per night immensely.

We loved the location of the hotel right off Piazza San Marco and on a canal. The water taxi came right to the steps off the reception area which was an added bonus for our departure. Our room, though on the small side, was charming. The bathroom was totally modern with heated floor, and heated towel racks. The staff was professional and courteous.

Wonderful stay and great location right next to St. Mark square,so you can walk at any moment to there.Definitely I will stay again and recomend to my friends!!!

We recommended this hotel, no doubts about it. Very clean and very well situation. We have a lot fun.

The only goodthing for this hotel is the location,however I rate this hotel only 3 star.for star for this hotel is false.

We were steps away from St. Marks Square so it was very convenient to everything. The water taxis picked us up at our hotel to take us to the airport. Did not have to handle our suitcases ourselves. The gondolas were parked along side our hotel so we could see them. Very nice breakfast at the hotel. Would stay at this hotel again.

hotel was in great location by St Mark's square. We chose this hotel because of the convenience to the square and the water taxi can take or pick you up at the door. It was a bit pricey, but when you look at other hotels, price was not bad compared to some. Breakfast was adequate. They did offer a free ride to Murano Island, to the factory where they make some of the Murano glass. We would stay there again if we ever go back.

Great location in heart of San Marco, very friendly and helpful staff

Adjacent to St Mark's Square, reached through an archway at the North West end of the square within a few minutes walking distance of vaporettos (water bus transport) and the main sights of Venice. Watch the gondoliers in the water basin in front of the hotel getting organised for the day as you breakfast in the pleasant dining room. If you fancy a gondola trip nothing could be easier - step from the hotel reception area straight into the boat ! The helpful staff will also help with any other tours and excursions , not forgetting the numerous concerts available close by in the opera house and churches. The hotel is also within easy reach of the myriad of shops and restaurants in the San Marco district. My room was small but well furnished with a great bathroom.

Although great location the staff at this hotel is under the impression that they and not us are guests at this hotel. They are all snobs and sneer at the simplest of requests. We called down for extra pillows and we were told that there were none in the hotel and they hung up on us. We ordered a water taxi for the airport and they said they couldn't gaurantee that it would come and we were"foolish" to think that it would be on time. The rooms were closet sized and smelled musty. I would have gone to another hotel but did not want to take away time from my vacation to do so. Doge Orseleo ha ha ha go anywhere else but here!

This hotel is in the perfect spot to base yourself during your stay in Venice. Rooms are comfortable and clean and it really is a 2 minute walk to San Marco Piazza. Reception staff need a personality lesson but don't let this ruin your stay!

My mother and I arrived at the Albergo Cavalletto hotel - owned by Best Western. We walked into the lobby, everything seemed to be going well. The hotel looked nice, the front desk staff was friendly, etc. As we were checking in, I asked for a room with a view of the canal. The hotel manager suggested a room at their sister hotel, just acquired, and said it had a lovely canal view. He said it was also a four star hotel. My response was, sure, but I would like to have a look at the room. The manager took us over and showed us the room and I was in shock. Not only was the room dark, but was also filthy. I didn't even look out the window and asked that we stay at the orginal hotel that we booked - the Albergo Cavalletto hotel. The rest of the stay I feel that the front desk staff treated us differently and I constantly felt they were untrustworthy. I have traveled the world and I feel like they tried to scam us!!!! I would never stay there again nor would I recommend this hotel to friends.

Lovely location, not too long a walk from waterbus but if you have a lot of luggage, then it may be best to get help from a porter. Hotel reception staff pleasant enough, although the gentleman was a little stressed when we arrived as he was left on his own! Lifts a little small but porters will assist if necessary. Sitting outside in the balcony in the bar area was just perfect and SO romantic...watching the gondolas going back and forth.

This was very good location just behind St. marks square. The water taxi from the train station was 60 euros abut that is what is expected from Venice. I add this because if you have no idea where you are going when you get out of the train station with all of your luggage you are in trouble and your best bet is to pay for the water taxi. The hotel was helpful with dinner resv. I had and excellent dinner at del forno and cavallaro and well as great lunch at villago which was very reasonable. Avoid the free trip to maurano glass factory. They gave us a free water taxi ride over a hard sell in the factory and when we did not purchase anything they booted us out the back thru an ally with two vaporeto passes pretty crummy treatment for a 70 y/o woman.

Venice is very hot in the summer - for this reason we booked rooms only that advertised air conditioning. Our room was very hot - we complained to management - they didn't seem to care. We had a very uncomfortable stay. Not acceptable for the high price paid.

Great location and very nice hotel just a few steps away from Piazza San Marco and 5 Minutes from Ponte Rialto... Very friendly staff.

This is a Best Western Hotel. It is put in the best location. Literally 15 yards from St. Marks Square. Breakfast is costly for what you get.

Nice Hotel in the perfect location, however, not so easy to get there even after getting a water taxi from Marco Polo Airport. Drop off point was about 400 yards, which may not seem to far but for the over 70s, pulling cases, it was not quite so easy. Rooms have been refurbished and were very nicely appointed but small. This is understandable as space in the area is very limited. Biggest problem was there was vary little room to put anything. The fridge and the safe were fitted into a very small wardrobe. A good breakfast was included in the price although it was not possible to get even a cold drink during the afternoon. Bar opened around 7pm.

right next to rialto, has a great gondola and canal view. also very close to st Marco square.

The hotel was in a great location and central to the various parts of Venice. Gondolas are right outside, and is a 15 second walk to St. Mark's Square and a minute to the main waterbus stop. No regrets whatsoever.

We stayed in this hotel about 15 years ago and really liked it so we were some- what disappointed by the stamp sized room in the worst corner of the hotel. When we asked about changing - they implied that the room was what we pre-paid for with Hotels.com. The food at the break-fast room was good, but again way too many tables were crowded into this quite small breakfast room. Our other complaint is that no one on the staff was friendly at all and we weren't very happy because our prior experience with the hotel was excellent. Possibly now that it is a Best Western things are not quite the same. The hotel is in an excellent location in the city - so we might possibly stay there again if we should visit Venice.

Exceeded my expectations and the view is unbeatable.

This hotel couldn't have had a better location. Clean and comfortable, but a little overpriced like everything else in Venice.One dissapointment is that we booked it to give our mother an experience of "water taxing" right up to the hotel and we were not able to use the boat ramp at the hotel when we came in because of high tides. It would have been fine in the afternoon. We loved the gondolas parked outside of the hotel. The atmosphere was great. Our room was pretty small for a triple and pretty basic but clean and comfortable.

Seconds away from St. Mark's Square, this hotel is beautiful, service is excellent and location is superb. I would return again and again.

This hotel had a great location, but the rest of it was very dissapointing particularly in light of the price and rating. I expect a small room in Venice, but it could at least be maintained! Dreadfull decor, peeling walpaper, uncomfortable hollow bed (not a mattress), ridiculously configured bathroom.

This was my first trip to Venice, and thus had no experience with hotels or locations. This property was right off St. Mark's Square, thus convenient, but quiet as well. Our room was ready before the indicated check-in time, a big plus for the red-eye flyers from the States. The concierge was knowledgeable, and recommended a restaurant for dinner that served one of the finest meals in memory.

This hotel has nice staff and is conveniently located right behind San Marco square. BUT the rooms are OLD, TINY and have paper-thin walls. The beds are very uncomfortable and smaller than normal. While we only stayed 2 nites, we were able to hear every noise going on and in the early morning a maintenance man was drilling and hammering in the stairwell. We did enjoy the bar with the view of the busy little canal and all the gondola action.

We would recommend this to anyone, Great location, great fun with the gondalas right outside the hotel, great personnel and helpful. Their restaurant was a bit pricey but excellent food!

Not a good value.

I was put in a very small room -single bed- and it had a smell to it. It was clean..but the size and smell made it hard to sleep.
