Royal Hotel - Wien

Wir waren im Gesamten recht zufrieden. Obwohl wir davon ausgehen können, das es besser ausgestattete Zimmer gab. Wir waren aber zufrieden, vor allem mit der Nähe zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Die ganze Innenstadt kann zu Fuß erkundet werden. Das Badezimmer ist etwas veraltet, die Betten sind super.

Ich war sehr zufrieden mit Hotel und die Lage dieses Hotels ist genial.

Zimmer guter Durchschnitt/ Sauber und Personal sehr freundlich. Fenster nicht dicht, daher etwas laut zur Straßenseite. Frühstück guter Druchschnitt.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und ist als Ausgangspunkt für Wien-Besichtigungen optimal. Das Personal ist nett, die Zimmer und das Frühstücksbuffet sind OK, jedoch nichts Besonderes. Im Resataurant auf dem Dach des Hauses genießt man eine wunderschöne Aussicht, die man dann aber auch mit bezahlt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in anderen Wiener Restaurants besser. Für alle, die ein "normales" gepflegtes Hotel in Mitten der Wiener Altstadt suchen, ist das Royal Hotel zu empfehlen.

Durch die zentrale Lage ist die Erreichbarkeit der Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants sehr gut, u-Bahn in 2Minuten Entfernung, Personal sehr hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend, freundlich und kompetent

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. Die Zimmer sind großzügig und sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig, das Personal sehr freundlich.

This hotel is right in the heart of Vienna, next to a subway stop. You can't beat the location. However, the hotel does not have AC and the front desk people do not seem to have any idea about their city, what to do or how to get around. The bell service is terrific and the bellman helped us with our luggage when we left and even walked us to the train!

very well located. Almost everything is within a walking distance. Old decor but clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just ok. well worth the money.

Loved the tradition. the comfort. Its individuality. Great central location. Extremely quiet despite. Got a feel for Austria. The restaurant had good deals and provided hearty local produce. Well situated for transport. Staff efficient and effective. We all enjoyed our stay!

When we arrived at the Royal Hotel we were told that they overbooked and we were being sent to their sister hotel, a 10 minute taxi drive away (outside the pedestrian-tourist zone). They told us it was a much nicer hotel, and that we were getting a room upgrade, but the upgrade wasn't anything special. There was an apology note left in our room telling us to enjoy the complimentary "free pastries", but there were no pastries. The hotel was okay, but the confusion took about an hour and a half out of our day, plus the extra time needed to walk to the tourist destinations.

Stayed for 5-nights in November 2008. traveling on business with spouse and 10-year-old child along as tourists. Convenient to lots of shopping and attractions in the inner city (museums and Spanish Riding School). Subway entrance is on the corner, a storefront-distance away, and provides ready access to things beyond walking distance. (The subway trains were very frequent - often at 4-minute intervals - making this a nice way to get around.) Included breakfast was good. A McDonald's, and a grocery (with deli in basement), located right across the street worked out well with a child for a quick and cheap snack or light meal. Hotel lobby was often smoke filled, but no smoke odor in our non-smoking 6th-floor room. Not really a "luxury" hotel, but the price was right. There may be better choices, but I would stay here again without hesitation.

This hotel has to be in the greatest location for seeing Vienna. Unfortunately that is all that is good about it. The rooftop restaurant is bitterly cold, food not great and overpriced and also served cold. Bedrooms old fashioned and cold, need total updating. Maybe a good place to stay in about 5 years when it is modernised. Vienna is an expensive city but worth a visit as the buildings are magnificient. Hop on Hop off is the best way to see the sights. Restaurants bad and pricy, best value is found in TGI Fridays and McDonnells, only places to get hot food.

...amenities need work...

Tiny room, size was 9' x 16' and bed frame was 7' x 6' thus no space left in room. Room was musty. Pillows were mildewed. A nine inch screened television was on a counter that only could be viewed standing in front of it. The church next door started ringing its bells at 6 A.M. and the noise reverberated through the room. No tranquility.

The location is great. Around the corner from St. Stephen's Cathedral and right in the heart of Vienna. Unfortunately you only pay for the location. The rooms are very old and desperately need updating. The rugs are old and stained and look as if they've been around since the 50's. The real issue I had was with the bed. It was like sleeping on a box spring and I woke very morning with back aches. Other then those problems the staff was kind and helpful and the location perfect.

All was great, they park the car for you, and the guy picks up your luggage etc... breakfast variety was good, and it was right at the city centre. BUT Everyone was smoking everywhere, all our clothes stunk of smoke. They smoke at breakfast, in the lobby, at the entrance, everywhere... Someone left a booger on the shower curtain, and there was a wet patch under the toilet seat. I think the cleaner must have missed a few things. We had a visit later from one to bring missing pillows and change some duvets?!

I stayed in Royal Hotel in Vienna for 3 nights in October. It situated inside the Ring right near Stephansdom in the heart of the city. Most major attractions, shops, subway station are just a short walks away. My room was very clean and very nice, with nice size bathroom and bathtub. I could hear at night the bells (probably from St. Peter's Church, I am not sure) ringing the time, it felt romantic (I slept with window open). I have seen air conditioner in my room, just didn't have a need for it in October. I also had big closet, safe deposit for valuables, and small refrigerator (bar) in the room.The only thing I didn't like was very hard mattress and only one pillow on the bed (there was second pillow in the closet but without pillowcase). Hotel has two restaurants, whey were open from 6 pm. Breakfast was offered every morning. Coffee shop with delicious cakes, McDonalds, and grocery store are right near hotel. I bought some food at the grocery store and kept it at the refrigerator, so I could have snacks at my room any time I want. I would definitely stay in Royal Hotel again. L. B. from Maryland.

The Royal HOtel in Vienna is just a few steps to the great Stephansdom Cathedral and train stations, etc. Food was excellent. Internet however was poor, as there is only 1 cable outlet in the room (to share with the TV) and they couldn't find a Y-connector. Hence it was either TV or Internet, but not both. room was small, but clean and comfortable. I'd stay there again

the hotel is is only a basic of everything. I think it needs complete furniture rennovation and rooms decoration. If you need only room to keep your luggage, while stay most of the time outside, it may be suitable because the location is excellent. Ventilation is poor and air conditioning is not available in most of the rooms in summer which makes even sleeping naked in the bed insufficient to make you feel comfortable.

The quality of the bedroom was more 3-star than 4-star although it was a really good size. Having said that prices are in line with a 3-star so no problem overall.

The hotel is located in a great spot. We were happy with everything except for the quality of the air conditioning. If you plan on staying here while its hot, make sure you have a room with a/c that works. Other then that we would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others

Hotel ideally suited to business or pleasure travel and very good value. The roof bar was impressive. The hotel is a bit jaded inside and the receptionist surly but overall I would go there again for the convenient location.

Great location!! Right in Stephanplatz & a 2 minute walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Stephanplatz underground (U3 & U1 lines). Room was a nice size. The bed was not comfortable (very stiff). The tub/shower was difficult to get in and out of--high sides and not a flat bottom (sides sloped into a V). Still recommend the hotel because of the price and location!!

Rum och toa var icke av **** standard. Ena sängen bäddades med ett slitet täcke och den andra med en tunn filt.

Hotellet var av meget god kvalitet, selv om det bar noe preg av slitasje. Utmerket frokost i meget hyggelige lokaler. Fantastisk beliggenhet. Lite ytre støy.

Ett lite slitet hotell som ändå höll bra standard pga service och renlighet och en underbar frukostbuffe.

Næste gang jeg/vi er i Wien, bor vi igen på Hotel Royal.

Precis som andra gäster varnat oss för var hotellet överbokat när vi anlände 17.30. Vi hänvisades till systerhotellet Graben. I vårt rum där låg ett ursäktande brev. Vi fick en känsla att man satt denna typ av manöver i system bl a beroende på ett i förväg massproducerat brev.

Vi (2 børn på 3 og 6 samt forældre) nød opholdet meget. Vi havde et stort værelse til 4. Hotellet er rent og pænt i hyggelig gammel og lidt fornem stil. Der er restaurant hvor i hvert fald morgenmaden er fin. Det bedste er at det ligger meget centralt lige ud til gågaden. Parkering er dyr (28 euro/dag), hvis I kan undgå at tage bilen med ind i byen.

AC kunde bli bättre

Sicuramento l'albergo era ubicato in una posizione strategica, praticamente in centro a 100 metri dalla fermata della metropolitana. Per quanto riguardo l'hotel è una vecchia struttura che avrebbe una urgente ristrutturazione, soprattutto le camere.

ottima posizione direttamente sulla zona pedonale a pochi passi dal Duomo di santo Stefano, rapporto qualita prezzo davvero favorevole.

Hotel met super ligging bij de Stephandsdom en de metro. Aan een zijstraat van de beroemde winkelstraat. Veel te zien in Wenen op loopafstand. Onze kamer was op de vierde etage niet geronoveerd, maar wel netjes en schoon. Ook uitgebreid ontbijt en vriedelijk personeel. Hier kun je zeker een keer overnachten!
