Freundlicher Service, ruhige Lage, gute Gastronomie u. Shopping in der Nähe, Pazific 10min zu Fuß, rundum gut. Hotelparkplatz für 30 $ war zu teuer, fast nebenan die Hälfte.

We came here to visit our daughter at UCLA, only 15 minutes away. Great downtown Santa Monica location with access to endless food, shopping, beach activities and bike trail. Except for our jaunts to UCLA, we hardly needed a car for our 3 day stay, everything is close and accessible. If fact, oour daughter preferred to visit us at the hotel because of the downtown Santa Monica amenities. Staff is helpful and friendly. Interiors were redone in the last 5 years of less. We had brunch one day at the roof top restaurant. Views from Malibu to Ocean Beach were great. Food and service were first class.

This hotel charged ridiculous prices for everything from the mandatory valet, too high day rate for parking (and you'll wait 20 minutes for your car not 10), to the exorbitant price for an omelette through room service (that came with dried cheese from some previous user on the bottom of the plate). Yuck! There were stains on the carpet, mildew in the tile in the shower, and dust all over the air vents. The popular nightclub upstairs delays the elevators and contributed to a lot of late night noise up and down the hall way. Definitely not worth the hype or the price. You're paying off their very talented decorator and renovation.

The hotel is gorgeous and room comfy and lovely. We were turned off by the attitude of the front desk check in person. The only hotel in 3 nights that showed this.

I've stayed at the Huntley in the past and had a wonderful experience, but this time it was quite different. As far as the staff is concerned the only helpful and attitude free bunch were the bellhops. For the first two days the hotel had a unpleasant odor both in the hotel rooms and restaurant. That smell never quite left the restaurant no matter what time you were there. I will not be staying there again.

Hotel was very accomodating with rushing to have a room prepared/cleaned so that I would be able to check in early, even though I made it clear that all I needed was for them to hold on to my bag until check-in time. Hotel was very clean, rooms nicely furnished. Penthouse restaurant has splendid views and very attentive staff. The food is not that spectacular but I guess more weight is given towards the ambience. Great place for a drink. For those visiting as tourists, the hotels location is not directly on the ocean (one block away), but the hotel is still centrally located close to the 3rd street promenade and the santa monica pier.

Great room (a little small, but the décor was great so I could put up with that!), with a fantastic view of the beach. Beds very comfortable and the room was clean with a nicely stocked minibar that was replenished regular. Fantastic location, close to the 3rd street promenade with all the shopping you require as well as a stones throw to the beach. Fabulous rooftop restaurant – whilst I didn’t eat there I understand that the food is very good, the view from up there is great. Only downsides for me where (1) the gym was very small, but I went early so was able to use the machines I needed (2) My room key kept deactivating itself – this was more annoying than it sounds as it meant going back down to the lobby, getting it reactivated and coming all the way back up – when you’re all hot an sweaty form the gym, that’s not pleasant… (3) Picture quality on the TV wasn’t great. The downsides were relatively minor though and I would definitely stay there again.

Loved the hotel and location...was a little of a walk to the beach but was manageable. Booked an Ocean View which was totally worth it. Went up the Penthouse restaurant for drinks one night...very fun and hip. Great place to sit and look out at the beautiful view of the ocean and coast.

We loved the hotel. Great proximity to beach and to shopping, along with easy access to the highway and the rest of the Los Angeles area. Our only complaint was that we felt forced into valet parking and the $30 nightly fee. When you're on vacation and spending a couple hundred for the room it's not a big deal, but more just the principle of the matter. Otherwise, we completely enjoyed the experience and would certainly stay again in the future.

We spent the night here to get away from the heat of the valley. Very nice room, very comfortable bed. Everyone was really nice. We hadn't been to the top floor restaurant since it was "Toppers" the cheesy Mexican bar. Wow, what a difference. I expect to see many "The Hills" type reality shows shooting up there. Very scenic, with a nice drink menu. (Didn't eat, so can't comment on food.) One small word of warning - we paid for a King Oceanview room. The picture of this room on their website was taken from a room on the west side of the hotel, meaning full ocean view. We were given a room on the south side, meaning a partial view. But my wife could see it fairly well from her side of the bed. Had we put 2 and 2 together, we probably wouldn't have paid more for the ocean view. But, we chalk that up to not thinking through the obvious. I'd bet that's a common practice if you don't call ahead and specifically ask. All in all, I'd recommend.

Front desk was staffed by one surly attendant. I stated that I had an ocean view room and he interrupted me and stated that, "No I did not". When I showed him the reservation, he did not apologize but he did give me an ocean view room. Front desk clerks should never get into a heated discussion with customers, particularly during this very difficult business environment. Otherwise, we loved our stay at this hotel.

The hotel was nice except for they turned the water off for most the day without notice "they claimed they called everyone but we didnt receive a call" so we miss scheduled events since we couldnt shower. They did compensate us with paying for our room service that day though. The hotel did not have a pool which I thought they did for some reason. Altogether though it was a great hotel.

This hotel is beautiful from the outside, but it just didn't meet the expectations for the price we paid. There are two elevators for I believe 16 floors, and one was out the entire weekend. Made it very slow coming and going, with most of the restaurant guests using that elevator as well. The lobby ladies restroom was out of service, and someone puked Saturday night immediately in front of the hotel, and it was never cleaned up. Was hard to miss. The room was pretty, good condition, although very small. noise was not an issue for us and the location was good.

This hotel was great for my husband and I for a romantic vacation. The bar on the 18th floor is quite chic with a great 360 degree view of Santa Monica. The only downfall of this hotel is that they do not have a pool. It is quite close to the beach and 3rd street promenade.

Beautiful hotel across from the beach and within a few blocks of Santa Monica's famous 3rd St. Promenade (shopping/restaurants/movie theatres). Beds are extremely comfortable, staff warm, attentive and helpful, and The Penthouse bar/restaurant presents breathtaking views and exquisite cuisine.

The hotel is nicely refurbished - rooms are a good size, furnishings are comfortable, room service was timely and quality was very good. But I was up most of the night as the people in the room adjacent were up all night talking. Not loudly, just talking. But you could hear them clearly. It was more than a little annoying.

I have never stayed in such a luxurious hotel. I treated my daughter to an overnight stay and we both felt like queens. The room was beautiful with an incredible view of the ocean and hills to the north of the hotel. I will stay here again.

The hotel was wonderful we just had a noisy room (1506) that must have been below the kitchen or meeting room. The walls are fairly thin too as we could hear full conversations.

The room was very nice and clean. All fine and good but nothing remarkable. The disappointment was that we reserved an ocean view room. The windows were parallel to the ocean and the bed was against the wall towards the ocean so to enjoy the ocean view we had to sit on the other side of the room. I call that a partial. Room service was okay but nothing amazing as well. The bathroom was very cold at all times. We enjoyed our stay but we'll go elsewhere next time.

My first time staying at The Huntley and we will definitely be back. The Front Desk staff gave us a complimentary upgrade to an ocean view room upon our arrival - what a lovely gesture! The restaurant/lounge upstairs was fabulous with a fantastic view and wonderful service. Reasonable bar menu - perfect for a light snack at Happy Hour. Overall, a great experience at the Huntley.

Good sized rooms. Very nicely appointed, modern furnishings. 42" flat panel TV on the wall (although regular definition tv provided instead of hi-def cable feed). Terrific food at the roof top restaurant. Great views of the ocean and the city. 3 phones in your room.

Very nice hotel and rooms. Convenient location, only one block from beach and promenade. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The only downfall however was that the hotel did not have a pool.

The Huntley looks completely different from the 80's!! This is a classy hotel and the Penthouse restaurant is beautiful! A far cry from Toppers when my sister was a waitress there. Having grown up in L.A., and visiting a lot, I have to say I never considered the Huntley until this last trip. Now it will be the hotel I prefer to stay when visiting the westside.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are very nice but the service definitely was not up to par. We had to wait 50 minutes for our car at the valet (which they charge $30 for). When we asked the valet supervisor what was the reason for delay, he did not provide an answer, he just mumbled an inaudible response and walked away. He provided this similar response to other hotel guests who were waiting as well. A 50 minute wait for valet is ridiculous, but what was most upseting was when we brought this issue to the attention of the front desk personnel, there was no apologies or an offer of trying to fix the situation. All they could say was "the valet is leased out." It doesn't matter if the valet is leased out to another company, if the Huntley wants to provide an image of excellent service for their guests, they have to not only worry about the cleaniess and appearance of the hotel, but of the valet team they contract with and the sense of urgency and care of their front desk personnel. Even though the hotel was nice, the horrible valet service and the front desk's lack of concern for it, was enough for us to never stay with the Huntley again.

Absolutely amazing location - very short walk to the 3rd Street Promenade. The hotel also has a wonderful rooftop restaurant - must not be missed during your stay! The only con was when we tried to rent a movie via the VOD system and it didn't work, however the hotel was understanding and removed the charge from our bill no questions asked when we informed them.

This hotel looks nice from the outside and the lobby, but once you head up to your room...the carpeting is rolling, the entire place smells musty, the heating/AC system was broken and my room was 85 degrees (with possibilty to change rooms, etc)...VERY DISAPPOINTING.
