Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City - Universal City

The hotel is located nearby Universal Studios and therefore a good place to spend the night after a visit of the Universal Studios Theme Park. The hotel itself is somewhat older but in a rather good condition. The rooms are well equipped. Bedware is of good quality. Hotel charges for the garage. Poll area looks nice but is rather noisy as it is located near a very busy highway.

Die erste der drei von uns gebuchten Nächte verbrachten wir in einem Zimmer auf Keller-Niveau, mit Blick auf die Lieferantenzufahrt. Die erste, freundliche Bitte um ein anderes Zimmer half nicht, erst eine massive Beschwerde wirkte. Dann war alles O.K. Angeblich hatte hotels.com (anders als von uns gewünscht) explizit ein Raucherzimmer gebucht, das man uns wegen unserer Kinder nicht gab (und wir auch nicht wollten). Nichtraucherzimmer seien aber keine besseren frei (nachher ging's doch, siehe oben). Achtung wegen der nicht geringen Zusatzkosten (Parkgarage, Internetzugang, kein "complementary breakfast")

Das Hotel war ganz OK. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber, jedoch kostet das Parken ($ 17/Tag) und die Benutzung des High Speed Internets ($9.95/24h). Auch die Dame beim Empfang war bei Check-in nicht gerade freundlich.

Nice place, excellent central location for getting anywhere in LA, exceptional service and amenities for an extremely reasonable price.

the service was polite very professional. the conceirge did what was arranged for my wife and i perfectly. the room had a wonderful view,clean,comfortable.

Our family took a quick getaway to universal studios and decided against my better judgement to stay at the Hilton. I'm so picky about cleaniness and i knew that hotel had been there for a long time. But I was pleasantly surprised to see it so nice & clean, friendly staff...and walk to universal studios & eat out at night at city walk! (don't wait for the tram...it literally takes 5 minutes to walk there)

ended up on 8th floor, not very high up but still had great views of surrounding area. Only booked this hotel as wanted something close to Universal and North LA for a couple of nights before flying back to UK. Perfect location for universal. Used free shuttle bus and also walked back one night from citywalk - only took 5 mins.

I took my family for a mini-vacation to Universal Studios. The hotel is directly across the street which made traffic and parking hassle free. The staff at the Hilton were very helpful and friendly. When we arrived the room that we booked was not availalbe yet, so the staff member upgraded our room at no additional charge. We had a great view and plenty of room for the four of us. Next trip we take to the area, we will definately stay at the Hilton

PARKING RATES A LITTLE OVER PRICED NICE ROOMS

The hotel itself was great and very conveniently located to Universl Studio. The room was fine and very comfortable. My key card, which also doubles as the entry/exit card for my car was not originally programed correctly the first time, resulting in my not able to leave and return to the garage correctly. I had to bring it back to the front desk to have it reprogram - a slight inconvenience. The power was went out for a portion of the hotel, during our first night at the hotel. The outage affected the lobby-level front desk, shops and restaurants, as well as my room. The hotel made no efforts to compensate the guests for this inconvenience (try taking a shower without lights on!) The convenience store can benefit from some additional training in customer service. Finally, the folks at the bellman's desk, as well as the concierge desk were very friendly and helpful.

This is an excellent modern hotel staffed by polite professional and likeable people. The room was spacious and well appointed. If I were to be picky I'd say that the costs of breakfast if , as was the case for us, you don't have an inclusive package was pricey at about $25 per head inc service. No real alternative in the vicinity.

The location is PERFECT for the hotel but I think the hotel management and staff take advantage of that. Staff was horrible and no one knew what was going on when we needed assistance. Not recommended.

During this trip we stayed in 4 hotels, this was the best. Very convinient location to see Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverlly Hills.

I stayed here for work. Location is great - close to freeways and centrally located.

GReat location, the room we had was perfect over looking the pool very clean and the bathroom was very large and clean, hot water in shower had a lot of preasure one of the best hotels we stayed in.

Stayed at the Hilton over the 4th of July weekend. This is a great hotel with outstanding service, location, & amenities. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Loved the bartender. Couldn't ask for a better location to all of what LA and Hollywood have to offer. Would definitely stay here again. Only downfall was that WiFi is not free and housekeeping did not come when requested.

Great location for universal studios/city walk. There is a walkway that is 5mins from hotel that takes you into universal studio/city walk. It is also only 1 tube stop away from Hollywood Boulevard. Would definately stay there again.

Just came back from my stay there..From the minute I walked in everyone was so friendly and helpful!! Located less then a 4min walk to Universal Studios and Citywalk also room was spotless and spacious...Metro train is a 10min walk away and is one stop away to Hollywood and Highland!!! Also check out the Breakfast buffet!!! Wouldn't even think about another hotel if I go back to L.A.!!

Everything in the hotel was to our satisfaction except for one thing. The whole point of us staying at this hotel was the location (which is wonderful) literally a 5 minute walk to Universal Studios. HOWEVER, when we tried to eat breakfast before heading to Universal Studios, we were greeted by a rude man who told my boyfriend that he needed to put a shirt on with sleeves if he wanted to eat there. My boyfriend was wearing a tank top because it was hot and we were heading to Universal Studios. We were on our summer vacation and considering the location and time of year my boyfriend didn't think it necessary to pack any tops with sleeves, all he had were tank tops. We were refused service! This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous and unacceptable. I can understand if we were staying in Beverly Hills or a ritzy location but we were in Universal City, a prime location for summer vacations! If people only brought tank tops to wear during the summer they should NOT BE denied to eat breakfast at the restaurant especially as guests of the hotel. For this I'm HIGHLY disappointed with the Hilton! They need to take into consideration the location of the hotel and that not everyone will be prepared for a "dress code" during their summer vacations!

Great service and friendliness of staff. Everything was great. Only problem, the shuttle only runs until 4:30 which seems ridiculous. Universal and city walk are an easy walk if you have no mobility problems. Would stay again, we throughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Hilton and I have to say we really enjoyed it. Check in and out was very easy and fast. Room was extremly clean and nice. The hotel staff was very helpful. Location is not too bad. There is a shuttle bus going to Universal Studios every 15 minutes and its a 10 minutes walk to the metro station if you do not have a car (necessary in LA). Definately would stay there again. Don`t know very much about the pool area because never used it but I`m sure it`s as nice as the rest of the hotel.

We really enjoyed the shuttle to citywalk and Universal Studios. All of the stall was very helpful and nice. You are really catered to by all the staff. We would definately stay there again and will if we are in need of a wonderful hotel experience in that area.

Just in case you planned to use an ATM card, be aware that they will place a $150 a day hold on the funds in your account for each day you stay there.

We love this Hotel! Everyone is very pleasant. We always stay here when we come to L.A. The food in "The Sierra Cafe" is just wonderful. I recommend their buffet. It cost about $42 a person, but you can have as much as you want, and it's quality food. Crab, lamb, wonderful desserts. I highly recommend staying at the Los Angeles Hilton/Universal City, it's a great Hotel!

The room was spacious enough for a family of four and the staff was great. We drove an SUV that exceeded the height limit in the self-parking structure, so we received valet parking at the self-parking rate. Universal Studios was just a short walk away.

Very nice hotel. Good location. Great Hotel service. Walking distance to Universal Studios. I would recoomend this hotel to anyone visting the area.

everything you want in a hotel - proximity to attractions, smiling service, clean rooms & comfortable beds. even though price was on the higher side, they delivered solid value for our money. we've made this our hotel when visiting universal.

If you are looking for somewhere on the doorstep of Universal City and yet only one stop away from Hollywood on the underground you can't beat this Hotel. Great pool area and superb buffet on a friday saturday and sunday. Would go back tomorrow!

Hotel was in excellent condition, the staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. It is like a 2 minute walk to Universal Studios and the City Walk. The drive to the airport is about 25 minutes in non traffic hours. PROS - location, food, beds were very comfortable. Spacious Bathrooms and excellent employees. Glendale Galleria Mall is like 4 minutes away via car and is awesome! CONS - Shower head was horrible, it was like the flow of an old man's prostate. :) Toilet would flush itself 3 times and was horribly loud.

This hotel was in the best location when visiting universal studios. It was within walking distance from the park and great shopping center. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The only down fall would be parking. They wanted 17 a day to park in there garage.

This is a great place to stay, it is very convenient. The buffet was wonderful- focus on fish- sushi, crab, shrimp, lobster tails, dim sum..
