Lange Flure und very british eingerichtete Zimmer.

The hotel was in an excellent location, within walking distance of train station metro links shops bars and nightlife. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable with all essentials in them, and very comfy bed The bar rouge was in a fantastic location right next to the hotel so not far to stumble. The only thing I can criticise is the Taxi firm they use going out for the night can't complain however they refused to pick us up due to not giving them an exact location for pick up how exact can you be outside Old Trafford. We were visitors to the area not knowing the direction we needed to be in and were abandoned because the taxi firm claimed not an exact location given and then the excuse that there was too much traffic for them to come and get us. Appalling

Bewertet von A aus Cardiff am Jul 3, 2009
The hotel is a stunning and grand victorian building, which is worth a visit just to see the staircase. It is situated right in the middle of Manchester, walking distance to everything. We had room 508 on the top floor. It was very clean but had a damp problem which made it unpleasantly smelly. It had very old single glazing which let the noise from the street straight in. The whole hotel had hardly any ventilation and was extremely hot and stuffy. On top of that if you opened the window the noise from the street was unbearable. Its a shame because if they sorted these problems then this hotel would be amazing.

Convenient central location, smooth check-in, but I had a top floor room which was along a corridor and up a flight of stairs. The room was simple and clean, but the main light didn't work, street noise is noticable, the room was hot and airless and on the second day there was no hot water, put down to a 'power cut'. Would consider it again due to convenience and low(ish) price, car park nearby.

The hotel is brilliantly located and looks very comfortable, even grand, when you enter. But that's where it ends. The noise from the club and the street was enough to keep even the most tired of people awake.

Very good location for central Manchester. Nearby secure parking - but at a price. Check in was quick, friendly and efficient. Overall feel of the hotel is that of somwhat faded grandeur. Large landings and wide corridors. Room was of excellent size and very clean and well serviced. Carpets/wallpaper and pictures etc rather dated. Good bathroom. Room was surprisingly quiet in spite of being in central Manchester - thanks to effective secondary double glazing. Did not try the food but menus seemed reasonable and plenty of choice for breakfast and other meals just outside the hotel if needed. Would definitely return - worth the money.

I walked into my light and sunny room and was pleasantly surprised by large windows. The room was nicely furnished if not a little dated but this added to the ambianceof the room. The bathroom was clean and the bath was a nice size. The shower temp fluctuate whenever i used it but i was happy with bath instead. The noise from the main road did wake me up first thing in the morning. The Staff were always polite, helpful and very friendly. I would recommend this hotel and the room I stayed in to a more mature couple (30+) who would appreciate the great central location.

The lobby and staircase of this hotel are very impressive. Its central location just round the corner from Piccadilly station, close to all public transport, is excellent. As a smoker, I was pleased with the smoking room we got on the second floor - plenty of light, and not at all second-class. The bar is comfortable and attractive (should you be in a rush, as we were, from Old Trafford to catch the Six Nations rugby on television), with efficient and friendly bar staff. Didn't have breakfast. Would happily go back.

If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, peaceful stay please go elsewhere. Although my room was on the third floor the noise from the nightclub in the basement vibrated through the walls making it impossible to sleep. When the music finally stopped the noise from the street below was unbearable and the walls so thin I was able to listen to every word of a conversation from the room next door. When I complained and asked for another room the staff were very accommodating and gave me a "quiet room at the back of the hotel". This turned out to be above the bus station!!

Our room, 502, did need a bit of updating and the tv signal wasn't its best but overall we were both happy. We had a dinner, b&b double room and the food was very nice. I would have paid for the all you can eat continental breakfast and a carvery style dinner if it hadn't have been included in our room. The location of the hotel is just on the outskirts of the city centre and close to Piccadilly Station. Having a bar/nightclub and restaurants downstairs was very handy

4 of us were staying at this hotel under my reservation. We got to reception at noon to pre-check in as check in time was 2:00pm. The receptionist checked us in, assigned us rooms and told us to come back at 2:00pm for the keys. We arrived back at 2:30 pm and only one of the 3 rooms were ready as they hadn't been cleaned. The 2nd room didn't become available until 3:30 pm and the 3 rd room was ready until 4:45 pm almost 3 hours after official check-in time. The staff were very unhelpful and totally unsympathetic - in fact they couldn't explain why the delay in cleaning the rooms and having them available at 2:00pm
