The New Yorker Hotel - New York

The New Yorker ist sehr gut gelegen (direkt an der Penn Station), die Zimmer sind nicht sehr gross, aber voellig ausreichend, ca. 14 qm bedroom, 4 qm Bad, und noch einmal 4 qm Vorraum fuer den Schrank (wir hatten einen metro room) - alles in sehr gutem Zustand und sehr stilvoll. Wir waren im 37. Stock mit herrlicher Aussicht auf die Wolkenkratzer (city view). Wir wuerden das Hotel sofort wieder nehmen!

Gutes und zentral gelegenes Hotel in einer etwas tristen Umgebung.

Das Hotel bietet viel Angenehemes wie breite Internetverbindung, gutes Fitnessraum und ist mitten in der Stadt mit direkteri Nähe zu Theatern, Kino und Einkaufen sowie Transport zu den Flughäfen sowohl öffentlcih als vom hotel organisiert. Zimmer recht hellhörig, vor allem zum Bad.

das zimmer war nicht unbedingt groß, dafür war aber die Lage absolut perfekt.

Zimmer war neu renoviert, Hotel teilweise im Umbau, daher keine aussagekräftige Bewertung möglich

Die Lage ist zentral direkt neben der Penn Station. Alles kann per Fuss oder subway oder "city sight tour erkundigt werden. Zimmer waren sauber und für Familie mit zwei Kindern bestens geeignet (2 grosse Doppelbetten). Absolut empfehlenswert.

My Wife and I stayed there for 3 nights and found the hotel in the middle of everything. Rooms where small but very clean. We where on the 38th floor and there where plenty of lifts to get you there. If you want to make a phone call from the room be prepared, it is not cheap. In fact I could have bought a local mobile phone and it would have been cheaper than a 4 minute call. Also there is no tea making facilities in the room.

The new yorker was friendly, staff were efficient and the place was clean...however, it really wasn't a bargain and for the Price I hoped for more. The room was clean bright and spacious and on the 34th floor we had a view of the empire state bulding. Great! However the bathroom was tiny and not terribly modern, with painted over tiles and an ancient bath......that aside the art deco detailing of the room and the hotel were gorgeous...all in all a good standard in a convenient location, with great polite helpful staff, but small bathroom that's a bit dated!

clean friendly place, close to all ny ameneties could do with a decent restaurent drawback when you over 20th floor and need coffee hotel would do well to provide coffee/tea making facieliteis in room

I was expecting much more. Rooms were extremely small - even after they "upgraded us to bigger rooms". Mattress was very very firm. Seemed like a small queen mattress. Upgrades needed desperately - ex. door knobs on bathroom door. I would not stay there again given the choices in NYC. Location was good though.

Hotel staff very helpful. Room very nice and extremly clean, however on the small side. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

We needed to be close to Penn Station and was only a block away. Our rate was reasonable and the room for an older holtel was decent size

perfect accomodations for 2 days at the Open........

The Hotel is located across the street from the Madison Square Garden, with easy access to shopping, entertainment, public transportation, food, and all the other amenities that make New York City such a joyous tourist destination. The personnel is superbly qualified. All the praise is well deserved.

I had a re-modeled, very nice room. It was a little small, but adequate for my needs, since I was alone. Everything worked as advertised, and the staff was very helpful and involved. The hotel location was excellent and I found the neighborhood to be very friendly. I was very pleased. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

Check in time is 3pm but we arrived at 2pm and they were able to get us in a nice room with a great view. The location is great because it is in the only blocks from Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Central Park, etc. Will stay here again!

Very small room but very clean. Hotel check-in staff inattentive.Unexpected hotel security deposit of $45 per night.

The hotel is older but the location is awesome. The room we had was extremely small but we did not spend much time in it so what does it matter. If you have lots of luggage then I feel for you. We had 2 suitcases and there really was no room for them any place in the room. Its a cozy hotel in a great location and for the price you cannot beat it.

Busy, refurbished hotel with good security. Tiny rooms, but very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were even smaller: two people couldn't fit in it at once.

Twice my mother and I have stayed at this hotel and each time we have gotten a beautiful room. They are small but very clean. Everyone is super friendly and its in a great location. They also have security to check your room key before you go up in the elevator. Great hotel!

We were in NYC for a 3 day wedding celebration. This hotel is super close within walking distance of the train station. This was our first time staying overnight in the city. This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is in a prime location to everything we needed. Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to family and friends. Looking forward to staying again some time soon. Small but comfortable room. Central Location, Great 24 Hour Diner in Hotel.

A nice hote. Expensive, of course, like all hotels in the area. Its in a great location. Its just across the street from penn station, making it easy for travel. Its withing walking distance of many major attractions. The hotel was nice and the staff were friendly. It was clean. My only complaint was that I think the thermostat wasnt working well in my room, and it was a little chilly. But the staff were willing to help with that.

We first visited in 2005 and just returned from a second stay. The hotel has been refurbished making it an even better place to base yourself for a visit to NY. Excellent value for money and well located. Friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help.

I loved my stay! The room was clean and updated. The staff was helpful and really nice. It is literally around the corner from Madison Square Gardens and across the street from the AMC movie theater. There are a lot of great little diners in the area and other places to get food, everything is wicked close! The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't a mini fridge, but that wasn't a huge deal. They offer free wi-fi and the bed is so comfortable! Loved it! Definitely would stay again!

Wonderful restuarant, great staff and 1 block from Penn Station - ideal for weekly business commute

The room was small but clean and comfortable. Free wireless internet service was good. The hot water in the shower was inconsistent. The location of the hotel was excellent and very very near the subway. I didn't like the fact that the hotel charges you to leave your luggage with them after check out.

We got a good rate with this hotel and were upgraded to a larger room with a nice because it was our 10th anniversary. The room was clean and nicely decorated (I stayed there 6 years ago and there is a major improvement in decor from that time). we also parked our car with the hotel and got a reasonable for this as well. The bathrooms could use an updating but we had a good experience.

room has an old house ordor when you enter the room. If they can get rid of it, it would be an excellent place to stay. Best thing is the location which is the center of almost everything. Also, is there any way I can get discount whenever I stay ???

This hotel was perfect! It's in a great location, you can walk to just about anywhere you want. The staff is professional, helpful and friendly. The room was great, a bit small but you don't go to the City to stay in your room. Everything was wonderful, I'll stay there again for sure!!!!!

Over all the stay was just OK. The location is outstanding. We were in blocks to everything! That was great! But, the front desk needs a HUGE attitude adjustment! And that includes the manager! All extremely rude! Checking in and out was fine but, when we had a problem with the shower head in our room at first they did not believe us and was not going to send someone to come fix it. After arguing with them they finally agreed to have someone come and fix it. I do have to say that the house keeping was very kind and extremely helpful! After everything that happened the only reason I would stay here again is if i got a HUGE DISCOUNT!

Nice clean rooms which were always made up when we came back each day. Times Sq and The Empire State building are all a few mins walk away. Also, the Bus Port Authority is very close-by if you plan on visiting the outlets for some shopping. There is a subway stop beside the hotel which will bring you downtown to the tip of Manhattan for Statue Of Liberty, Wall St etc... There is a great little diner beside the hotel (also accessible via the hotel lobby) which does a great breakfast. The only negative about this hotel is that the rooms are quite small, but you won't be spending much time in it anyway so it doesn't really matter. All that you'll want is a bed after each long day sight seeing so you won't mind the room size too much :)

The New Yorker is reminiscent of old NY hotels, with great architectural features inside and out. It's an older hotel, with older fixtures that have been well maintained, and the building, inside and out is in good condition and clean. I was most impressed though by the courtesy of the staff, from the front desk to the doorman and the concierge. Everyone was friendly and helpful...not all the common in New York City. I would definitely stay there again.

AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO GET HOUSEKEEPING TO CLEAN ROOM IT TOOK THE HOTEL MANAGER TO GET AFTER THOSE MAIDS TO CLEAN MY ROOM AND THEN NOT UNTIL 5PM!!! I HAD A SHOW AT 8 PM AND HAD TO "HANG AROUND UNTIL THESE LAZY SO AND SO'S GOT THE ROOM CLEANED...I YOU DESIRE A CLEAN ROOM DAILY, BEWARE OF THE NEW YORKER HOTEL!!

Perfect location in NYC, great staff, clean & comfortable

Couldn't have asked for anything better for the price. Their recent renovations are a success. Contemporary decor with very nice bed and bathroom linens. Within walking distance of Penn Station and in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. It's a bustling place that that makes you feel that you are in NYC. Nice job by the owners.

This hotel is located near a bus company's drop off location. Great place to stay if you take the bus.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during our visit to NY. The hotel is centrally located in MId Town and just 2 mins walk away from the Penn Railway Station and other subways. It is convenient to reach other parts of the city. The hotel room which we stayed in, though small, is neat and tidy and the facilities are good. Services are also good and the front desk friendly. Totally satisfied and good value for money.

I stayed in the hotel for three nights and was completely satisfied with everything -service, size and cleanliness of room, hotel amenities, hotel neighborhood! I highly recommend and would stay here again.
