The picture on the hotels.com website was taken at night for a reason. The neighborhood the hotel is in is dirty. The hotel looks like disgusting in the daylight. The hotel may be close to Notre Dame and a Metro stop, but that is the end of the benefits for this hotel. The driveway in front of the hotel is almost impossible to get into thanks to the cabs and delivery trucks. Check-in is not at the door. You have to go up the elevator. The room was nasty. The bathroom was gross. The tiles on the bathroom floor had to be 20 years old, as was the funky mirror fixture with the lights. Actually, that was probably older. The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. The beds were sagging. The pillows were uncomfortable. The furniture was from the 80's. The reception on the t.v. (even with cable) was dreadful. We tried to stay out of the room as much as possible.

Very convenient location next to palais de congress, chinatown, and 3 blocks from old town. Good location for business/conference or vacation tour of montreal.

AC/Heating system is too noisy at sleeping. In addtion, my roomview confronts right infronf of construction sites which woke whole my family. Only reception room is good. bur for what? basemant parking is too low and in part under construction. Too dirty and road is very narrow. No preinformation how to park. ( I had to go up 2nd floor - reception desk- to ask how to park.)

Although the hotel was comfortable enough the room smelled funny. I fact it smelled a little different every time it was entered. I think there's an automatic air freshener that goes off from time to time or that their cleaning supplies are xtra pungent. A suspicious knife and fork were hanging out outside our door for 2 days until we gave them to housekeeping and the elevator had trash in it a few times. Upon check in at 2:30 our room wasn't ready (it was supposed to be ready at 3pm and they told us it would be an hr. I asked to leave our bags in their storage and the desk clerk said someone would come over to help us. No one did and we didn't get to store our luggage until I walked up to the bellhop and asked.

A koi pond was located in the reception area making the hotel lounge a charming spot to sit and visit w/friends. It was my first visit to Montreal. The convenience & charm of this hotel will be recommended to my friends.

Overall very good experience. The front desk, Bar and rest employees were very helpful and nice. The location was good for getting to old montreal area. My only complaint was the maid one morning ignored our do not disturb sign and took it off our door when I told her to come back, not to mention her attitude wasn't very nice. But I wont put down the hotel entirely becuase of one bad apple. The hot tub could have been a bit cleaner but maybe it was due to the holidays.
