Villa Florence, a Larkspur Hotel - San Francisco

Sehr gute zentrale Lage ganz in der Nähe vom Union Square. Cable Car Station gleich gegenüber. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Nur das Zimmer war sehr klein und mit Blick auf den Innenhof. Dafür renoviertes Bad und sehr ruhig.

Das Hotel ist direkt am Unionsquare und damit sehr gut gelegen. Nur ein paar Schritte weiter kann man gleich in die Cable Cars einsteigen. Die Einrichtung ist schön und das Zimmer war sauber. Es hat uns dort sehr gut gefallen.

Dieses Hotel liegt mitten im Shopping Zentrum von SF. Cable Car Endstation und div. Bus und Strassenbahnverbindungen sind right around the corner. Alle fahren zu den Piers und diversen anderen schoenen Plaetzen. Tolles Hotel!

Positiv: (1) Das Hotel ist wirklich zentral gelegen. (2) Es hat das gewisse nostalgische Etwas, das man von einem Hotel in SFO erwartet. (3) Market-Street (Einkaufsmeile) ist innerhalb von 5 Minuten per pedes erreicht. (4) Man ist mit der Auswahl Cable-, Streetcar, U-Bahn oder Bus sehr gut angebunden. (5) Das Personal ist selbst im Vergleich zum relativ hohen US-Standard unerwartet freundlich und zuvorkommend. Negativ: (1) Parkmöglichkeit vom Hotel liegt bei ~ 40,- € (2) Die Fenster sind verdammt dünn. Wer empfindlich gegenüber Straßenlärm (Musiker, Cable-Cars etc.) ist, sollte sich entsprechend ausrüsten.

Zimmer etwas klein aber sonst ok. super gelegen.

Das Hotel hat mir gut gefallen. Trotz das es an der Straße liegt konnte man ruhig schlafen. Die Sauberkeit fand ich lobenswert. Das nächste Mal werde ich mit meine Familie in dem Hotel übernachten wollen. Es ist sehr zentrall gelegen und ruhig. Auch von den Geschäften drumherum. Jederzeit einen weiteren Besuch wert.

War alles super, aber leider hat W-Lan in unserem Zimmer nicht funktioniert

War ein bischen nervös zuvor, weil ich das erste Mal übers Internet ein Hotel reserviert habe, aber als ich dann in San Francisco angekommen bin, im Hotel war und in meinem Zimmer - es hat förmlich nach Urlaub gerochen - ich habe mich sofort wohl gefühlt und kann das Hotel mehr als nur empfehlen

Das istel ist super. Der Service war unglaublich toll. Die Zimmer sind hübsch und sehr geschmackvoll. Alles ist sauber. Wir kamen wegen Flugverspätungen um 6 Uhr morgens im Hotel an und obwohl wir es erst für den Tag gebucht hatten konnten wir das Zimmer schon um diese Zeit beziehen. Ein wirkliches Schmuckstück von San Francisco.

We picked this by the reviews and location and we were not disappointed.

I booked this hotel fairly late (about 3 weeks before our stay) based on some good reviews that I read online and the very reasonable price (50% off the regular price). It's always difficult to know what to expect in reality when you book a hotel without seeing it - we were over the moon when we arrived and saw how nice the hotel was. The Villa Florence suited us perfectly for our stay - it is in a prime position for all the transport networks - a few minutes walk from the railway station, a minute's walk from the main street with many bus routes, and the cablecar passes right outside the hotel. It is also steps away from many shops and restaurants, including the big department stores on Union Square. We received great service from the staff at the hotel - when we arrived our room wasn't ready and still wasn't ready when we returned after 15 minutes as requested. The reception staff were very apologetic and put us in another room and gave us a voucher for 2 complimentary breakfasts. All through our week's stay they were very helpful with information and advice on directions and activities - our room was beautiful, quite spacious and very comfortable. We couldn't have been more happy with our hotel, especially considering the reduced price that we paid on Hotels.com. Thanks to everyone at Villa Florence - I'm sure we will we be back and will recommend the hotel to all our friends!

Very nice hotel and staff

We're local, and only at the last minute decided to spend the night in SF after going to the theater, so our reservation was made very last minute. When we checked in, the only glitch was that their computer system was down, so we were first put in a room that already had a guest then had to wait for about 15 minutes for them to find us another room BUT we were also given a complimentary bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Great location to walk to theaters and restaurants. We'd definitely stay here again...short notice and all!

Great hotel. Great service. Very accommodating. Can't ask for a better location...only concern is street noise. If you get a room facing the street, be prepared for the melodious sounds of the city. Under normal circumstances, bring it on. Got sick during the trip though, so sounds were a bit much.

Great location, just 2 blocks from Union Square, on Powell Street. A little hard to spot as it looks more like a restaurant from the outside. Stayed one night, had booked a Queen but was randomly upgraded to King, which was nice. Free internet, gym etc very good. Bed very comfortable, bathrobes provided (only downfall was that there was a used tissue in the pocket of one of them). Large TV. Bathroom very clean, L'Occitane bath products nice, if you're into that sort of thing! Very clean room and staff very helpful with any questions. Would definately stay here again, can't beat that location.

Excellent hotel. Very helpful staff. Dining room upscale prices but excellent meals, graciously served. Room amenities such as robes, L'Occitaine products. Comfortable beds. Would stay here again.

This hotel is located right on the cable car line. The hotel is clean and comfortable for the money. The restaurant downstairs is always busy and gets consistent great reviews.

Close to every thing. Staff was great.

The Hotel was beautiful, convienent and clean! The staff were more than helpful, we enjoyed it immensely and will go back again!

The hotel was two blocks from Union Square where the cable car and Muni service are available. We went to the Giants game and traveled on the Muni train which was very convenient. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms very nice. There is a restaurant next door to the hotel with its own entrance and entrance from the hotel also, which was very nice. We used valet parking as there is no parking at the hotel.

Room could have been cleaner. Has staff reclean the bathroom (At check in)due to hair in shower. management stated it was scratches, which it was not. other than that super place and recommend to anyone. Great location

Staff at checkin and bags are especially professional, cheerful, friendly. Clean rooms, perfect location for strolling thru downtown, great food everywhere!

The location is terrific and the staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. This is our third time staying there for that very reason and it is a keeper. Make sure you ask for an inside room. Unbelievably quiet.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at our hotel - one never knows what to expect when making reservations in an unfamiliar city - The staff were wonderful, the location great, and the beds were so comfortable. I requested extra coffee several days, and they brought it right up. One of my window's didn't lock correctly, and the guy came right up and fixed it. It's an old hotel, and the halls have an old wood, musty smell, but that was my only complaint. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but for one or two people they are more than adequate. I believe they have suites available for guests with children. We asked for, and received, an inside room, which was very quiet - no street noise. The cable car turnaround, Union Square, Macy's and Westfield Shopping centers, and China town are all within 1-3 blocks -walking distance! That's important, because you find yourself walking more than you would think, even with all the public transportation! I would recommend this hotel, and stay there again. We got a good deal on the rate, so you might check for different dates for a lower rate.

The staff was great, hotel rooms are a bit small, but they are in great condition. All modern furniture and electronics. Great location, a block away from union square. 12 min walk to Orpheum Theater.

This hotel was ideally located for our family trip to San Francisco with Union Square and many shops and restaurants on our door step. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The room was spacious even with 2 adults and 2 children. The hotel was ideally located to catch the cable car to see other areas of the city. The staff were very friendly and went out of there way to be helpful.

The hotel is near Union Square so there are plenty of shops around, including a very convenient Walmart. The hotel is old but has been renovated recently and was very nice, although our view was of a wall. The bathroom is small but has everything you need. No problem with outside noise. The restaurant at the hotel - Kuleto's - was very popular but service was very slow. For breakfast we liked Cafe Mason on Mason St behind the hotel. The cable car turnaround is very close, as is Chinatown, and the Ferry Buiding/markets. The concierge were very helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Considering the price ( very reasonable ) and location ( very good in downtown San Francisco), we were very satisfied with our stay - comfortable bed, pleasant, clean room, nicely appointed.) Overall a very good value! We would stay there again and recommend same to others.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Florence. The room was very comfortable, clean and pretty quiet. Traveling w/small children can be quite a task and the Jr.Suite w/sofa bed was perfect for us, like having 2 separate rooms with 2 tvs. The staff was extremely accomodating and warm. The location of this hotel is amazing, right in the middle of everything. The only negative we experienced was that the internet was not working at this hotel for our entire 3 day stay and the hallways smell funny, like cat litter maybe. It's an older hotel though, so to be expected. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

As a women travelling alone on business, I am most concerned with safety. I felt safe and comfortable in this hotel. Every employee I encountered was helpful and courteous. The location was perfect for walking to many meal options, some very reasonably priced. I have tagged it as my favorite SF downtown hotel.

High quality for the money and fantastic location right outside Union Square and the cable cars on Powell street. Stayed in a suite and loved having the ability to control the air conditioner in the bedroom. Bathrooms are small but very updated. Could use a few more computers in the business center..did have to wait in line. Beautiful restaurant onsite and lovely wine bar in the lobby.

My room was on the 3rd floor and there was a lot of side street noise sunday evening.

The location is fantastic. It is right in the heart of Union Square. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants/bars. The Rooms are nice but very small. I was there by myself but could see 2 people constantly bumping into each other if they shared a room. I was also on the second floor and had to ask the hotel to turn down the lobby music at 11:30 PM because I could hear it. I got this room on special for $100. I think it was worth it b/c of the location and since I was alone. I would not pay more for this room especially if I was with another person.

Rooms are small, but that's to be expected in this area of San Francisco. Rooms are very nicely appointed. The hotel is in a great central location to Union Square, trolley, Bart, etc. Couldn't get internet up and running, but didn't ask for help either. Wasn't necessary at the time. Would stay again.

I was only staying for the night and the location and price was ideal. Staff were very polite; room was quiet and clean but small and had no view. I was perfect for what I needed. Also really liked the availabel computer just off the lobby. Came in very handy for printing my missing boarding pass before I left for the airport!

For those seeking comfortable accommodation in a boutique-hotel environment in Union Square, the Villa Florence is a great choice. Rooms--and especially the bathrooms--are quite compact, but are nicely furnished and decorated with lots of thoughtful amenities. The beds are comfortable. Noise-sensitive guests should request rooms on high floors and/or facing away from Powell Street as the streetcar makes quite a racket. Guests receive complimentary wireless and use of a business center. I was checked in by a trainee, which took forever, but trainees have to learn somehow. I also wish housekeeping would replenish bath supplies more regularly.
