Sehr nettes Mittelklassehotel mit warmen Farben schöner Glasdachkonstruktion über dem Frühstücksraum Haus sehr alt aber stimmig beste Lage Sonntagsmärkte Handwerk und Kunst direkt vor der Tür kurze Entfernung zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten alles zu Fuß möglich Metrostation auch gleich um die Ecke Altstadt zu Füßen Durchaus zu empfehlen

This was a fine hotel, large rooms, helpful staff. I think it is a little over-priced.

The phenix was well located for enjoying the atmosphere of the old city and a base to go up to the Fourviere for the excellent panoramic views. The common parts of the hotel were clean and attractive but the room had dirty paintwork and very tired quilts and blankets. But it was comfortable enough and value for money.

The location to the old part of Lyon is ok, but the room was very old and the bathroom was in desparate need of a remodel job. The tile was cracked and needed to be cleaned and some of the towel racks were falling out of the walls! The pictures are not a good representation of the room. The room was small but for Europe not terrible.

The hotel is located right on the river bank in the old town part of Lyon, a stone's throw away from all the Buchon Lyonnais and several tourist attractions. Staff are very friendly and the hotel room is exactly what you would expect from a 3-star hotel, clean and handy. The only downside during my stay was that the air conditioning wasn't working and it happened to be the hottest weekend in France so far this year...Other than that recommended.

Make sure you reserve a room in the front building of the hotel; the back newer building is under-heated, ugly, and in need of redecoration. The front part of the hotel is a gem -- a total bargain!!!

This is a great little hotel in the old section of town across the street from the Saone River. Walking distance to great restaurants and cultural attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful

I'd come back, but only for a short stay. Excellent breakfast

L'hotel est magnifique et bien situé, avec un garage fermé. Sympathique pour qui privilégie le pittoresque au stéréotype. Personnel charmant et plein d'attention. Points négatifs pour nous: l'éclairage insuffisant de la chambre (éclairage salle de bain parfait), l'exiguité de la salle de bain, l'accès à la baignoire par l'extrémité au lieu du côté, le petit déjeuner plutôt onéreux pour un si faible choix. Superb and well located hotel. Great for those who privilege the picturesque to the stereotype. Charming and attentionate staff. Negative aspects for us: insufficient room lighting (bathroom lighting perfect), exiguous bathroom, access to the bath tub by an extremity instead of the side, the rather expensive breakfast for such a limited choice.
