das war mit abstand das schlechteste hotel in dem ich in münchen jemals war. die einrichtung war uralt und teilweise kaputt, der putz bröckelt von den wänden und den decken, das bett war total durchgelegen, das zimmer war nicht sauber, überall war staub, nur das bad war einigermaßen ok...

Gute Lage! Leider sehr desolates Hotel!

Das Hotel (der Name hat uns schmunzeln lassen, richtig modern war das Hotel wohl zuletzt in den 80er Jahren...) ist eine gute Wahl, wenn man sich von der Gegend > Beate-Uhse-Shops und "Candys Erotikbar" nicht abschrecken lässt. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist nett und hilfsbereit. Das Mobiliar unseres Zimmers war zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen/mitgenommen, aber sauber. Matratzen ok, Bettwäsche so frisch, wie man sie sich wünscht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war nicht opulent, aber solide. Wenn wir nochmal nach München kommen, steigen wir vielleicht wieder hier ab!

Wir hatten zwei Übernachtungen im Hotel Modern gebucht gehabt und sind nicht enttäuscht worden, obwohl sich vorher einige in ihren Reszensionen sehr negativ geäußert hatten. Die Lage ist sehr zentral in der Nähe des Münchner Hauptbahnhofes. Das Zimmer verfügte über ausreichendem Komfort für diese Preisklasse. Das Bad war komplett saniert. Hier und da könnte es sicherlich etwas sauberer sein, aber es war insgesamt akzeptabel. Selbst die Betten waren nicht zum Fürchten. Das Frühstück war spartanisch und dennoch dem Preis angemessen. Dieses Hotel eignet sich für alle, die nicht horrende Preise bezahlen möchten und denen es um München als Urlaubsort und nicht um permanenten Aufenthalt auf dem Hotelzimmer geht. Kurz gesagt: Mit Mängeln, für den Preis aber unschlagbar!

An der Rezeption war man sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent. Erfreulich das reichhaltige Frühstücksbufett und die zentrale Lage des Hotels. Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

Wir waren dort um zu schlafen - Wenn man nicht allzu hohe Ansprüche stellt, ist das Hotel voll i. O.

The hotel is super close to the main train station and very convenient to walk to. It is however on a street with a bunch of late night restaurants and strip clubs so it's loud at night. The hotel is okay, it was clean but a bit smoky, and not in perfect condition. For the price and location it's not horrible, but I'd try to find a different place next time.

This hotel is located in the "red light" district! There are numerous strip bars around and lots of pictures of naked women. Very inappropriate for children!!!!! We had to wait over 25 minutes for someone to arrive to check us in. Then the room was very small and hot. The staff was not at all helpful and even deceiving. We checked out early and they would not give us any kind of refund for the remaining days we prepaid but did not stay. Do not stay at this hotel, it's not worth your time or money!

Close to the railway station - clean room , friendly and helpful reception staff and good value for money. Had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet.

it's what we expected. we got there too early to checkin, so we left our bags at a locker in the train station and walked around til the room was available for checkin. the neighborhood is interesting. We didnt have any problems with stolen items, but I wish there would have been a safe in the room for passports and valuables. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. The location for getting around was great, the train station very close and the city center and sites walkable or two stops away by train.

Hotel was very clean, big, comfortable, welcoming, and cheap. Free breakfast was a plus! it's not in the center of Munich but very close! it's like a 10 minute walk. and it's only a 2 minute walk to the central train station! only thing that was bad is it is right next to a strip club.

The location is amazing right next to the train station. As others have mentioned it is right across from a couple strip clubs. Nice restaurant a couple doors down. Breakfast is typical of Europe. Great price. I was surprised by the cleanliness considering the price. The hotel is a bit loud at night some guests stayed up very late making a lot of noise. My wife slept fine, but I suggest some ear plugs!

The hotel is close to both the hauptbahnhof, and Karls Platz, and many other points of interest in the city center. However, the hotel is located in a less than desirable neighborhood, with strip joints next door, and through out the street, Schiller Strasse, upon which this hotel is situated. The noise from the street, through out the night, did not cease, and only melded in the morning to the usual noise of the day for a big city. If you are traveling whith children, this s not a desirable location. The hotel staff was friendly, and helpful, but is should be noted our room was not ready at check-in time, and we had to wait for the staff to clean it before we could enter. The room it self was sufficently large, and comfortable, however the tv did not have a remote, and we had to use a pen to press the channel button to change the stations. The bathrom was small, but clean, only complaint was the sink was clogged, and the staff never got around to fixing the problem.

this was an older hotel with no ammenities but the location was across from main train station staff was very friendly and extremely helpful,for my travel needs this was a great hotel!!!

This is an older hotel that could use some improvements but overall it was a nice hotel. It is very centrally located in Munich. The front desk clerks were very helpful with directions and how to use the subways!

This hotel is very easy to walk to from the train station. It is also in walking distance to almost all local attractions and shopping. The staff was extremely gracious and helpful, beds were clean and comfy, breakfast area was clean and abundantly stocked, and the street below was quiet. Yes, this seems to be an older hotel, but it was clean and very affordable. We were extremely pleased and would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Hotel Modern on the last day of our European vacation and it was the cheapest and nicest hotel we stayed in. And the breakfast was by far the best of any of the other hotels. It is very close to the Frankfurt Airport and easy to find. It is true that there are a couple of "red light" establishments in a stones throw but they were not in your face, and inside the hotel was immpecible. I wish I could say that about every where we went :)

We found this hotel very reasonable for the price we paid. Although not in the best area of town, think its called downtown munich and has strip bars near we had no noise. Staff were friendly and helpful, room had clean linen, fresh towels and a working shower which was all we wanted! And a decent breakfast included. Furnuture and carpets a bit worn but they are getting refurbished i think. For proximity to station and central was excellent.

It's somewhat hard to understand what kind of comfort the previous reveiwers expect from a hotel in this price class. True, there were stains in the carpet that have probably been there fro the past decade and no amount of steaming and bleaching will remove them. On the positive side, the staff was exceptionally friendly and the location is first-rate.

Good central location for Central Train Station and Oktoberfest.

I have never seen a hotel more dirty and run down than Hotel Modern.

Hotellets navn passer overhodet ikke med standarden, og trenger virkelig en oppussing. I tak hang det støvansamlinger, veggene trengte maling og tv'en fungerte ikke. Frokosten på restauranten var ikke noe å skryte av. Det mest positive man kan trekke frem var den sentrale beliggenheten, et steinkast unna sentralstasjonen og sentrum av byen med shoppingmuligheter. På den andre siden lå det i en gate med mye prositusjon og sex-butikker.

Udmærket beskedent centralt beliggende hotel, men dog med et par irriterende småfejl ved værelset: Klap til toiletsæde, der lå løst på gulvet, brusekabinedør, der var defekt. Værelset kunne trænge til besøg af en handyman. OK rent og OK morgenmad. Generelt OK til prisen.

if you are looking for a top business class 10 star hotel then this is not what you are looking for. the reception is very friendly. rooms are clean and ok, the best about the hotel is that it is in center of the city!!! and still cheap!!!. the bad thing about it was the breakfast. it was really bad. they don't have any restaurant but you don't need any as there are tons of them just outside the hotel. thank you reception and the staff :-)

Ett enkelt hotell till rimligt pris inte långt från city.Bättre service i frukostrummet inte lätt för en ensam flicka att klara av hela hotellets gäster.

Het Hotel heeft een Centrale ligging wat het aantrekkelijk maakt. Maar de kamer zag er smerig uit. Vloerbedekking vuil evenals de stoelen. Het ontbijt was goed en de bedden ook.

Vi stannade bara en natt. Rummet var rent och fräscht (bortsett från heltäckningsmattan), läget var bra. Inget att klaga på.

Eldgammel springfjærmadrass, vanskelig å sove godt. Fjærene stakk opp fra nedligget madrass. Manglet dør i dusjkabinett. 3 insektsbitt i.l.a. natten, mygg? Minner fra backpackerliv i Bankokk ble vekket til live! Fikk bedre rom etter klage. Møtte en annen som klaget på lukt, han ble tilbudt mitt gamle rom av betjeningen som var klar over min klage! Ikke imponert!

Vi stannade bara en natt. Rummet var rent och fräscht (bortsett från heltäckningsmattan), läget var bra. Inget att klaga på.

Ligger centralt och prisvänligt.

La proximité du centre-ville et de la gare est un avantage incontestable (attention : pour le véhicule : garage payant) L'accueil et les prestations sont très correctes (bien que les nuits soient bruyantes, car le quartier est très "vivant" !).

Lavabo bouché, non réparé malgré nos demandes (sommes restés 3 nuits), moquette sale, ampoules HS, TV pas de télécommande et touches sur le récepteur cassées... Mais personnel de la réception très aimable, efficace et disponible.

Egentligen inget vidare hotell. Funkar bra för en eller högst två nätter. Badrummet var dock mycket fräscht. Ett stort plus är att hotellet ligger väldigt centralt, med bara några hundra meter till Hauptbahnhof och ca 10 minuters promenad till gamla stan. I övrigt kändes rummet slitet med lite röklukt samt att det hade heltäckningsmatta! Kan hända att det finns andra rum som är något bättre. Priset är ju bra och man får väl som man betalar... ;)

Hotel Modern är ett bra budgetalternativ, det ligger ju trots allt otroligt nära centralstationen. Sen att placeringen på hotellet ligger på en strippklubbsgata kan ju väcka frågor hos en barnfamilj. Frukosten var ingen höjdare, ljust bröd och yoggi. Övrigt så var det ett lugnt hotell.

L'ostello è ottimo, il servizio impeccabile, e le camere pulite, nella hall c'è sempre movimento e gente con cui parlare. Anche la posizione è buona, l'unica pecca è la via nella quale si trova, che non è proprio bellissima, anche se facendo 50 mt sì è già sulle vie principali

Tapijt is vies in het hotel. De kamer was niet goed schoon gemaakt bij aankomst. Bureau was niet afgenomen en de kamer was niet gestofzuigd. Het bed was voor 1 persoon opgemaakt terwijl er voor 2 personen was geboekt. De kamer was heel erg warm. Het ontbijt was daarentegen wel prima! Het receptiepersoneel was ook vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Lavandino che perdeva, 3 asciugamani per due persone, resti nel bagno di precedenti inquilini, orario di riposo non rispettato, rumore tutta la notte tutte le notti. Trovato anche uno scarafaggio. Portatevi il phone! Ah carta igienica 1 rotolo al giorno, e se ce n'è anche solo un po' non ne aggiungono altri. Colazione in attinente ristorante solo dalle 6 alle 9. Solo caffè americano, niente dolci o croissant, solo flacone marmellata da discaunt e fettine di salame con pane... per chi ha fegato, per gli altri considerate di dorver fare colazione altrove. L'hotel è nel quartiere a luci rosse dalla camera si può seguire tranquillamente vicende "poco adatta ad un pubblico infantile". Lo sconsiglio assolutamente a famiglie e persone di una certa età.

Posizione comoda, vicino al centro sia a piedi sia con la metropolitana, la stazione è adiacente all'albergo, una categoria media comoda e pulita, nulla di sconveniente.

Si vous ne voulez pas vous ruinez, choisisez cet hotel ! Le personnel est agréable, la chambre très correcte, et le petit déjeuné copieux.
