Renaissance Manchester - Manchester

It was a little difficult to find but when I contacted the hotel they gave me perfect directions. It is wonderfuly situated for the centre of Manchester. China town a 10 min walk. The best shops directly across the road. It did cost us £14 to park in the hotel car park, for a 1 night stay which I felt was a little steep although the car was secure. Breakfast was not included, and at £17 for the full breakfast with everything we found a fab family run cafe serving until 2pm which was great

For a city centre hotel our room was a lot larger than expected with 2 double beds. The breakfast was lovely and the valet parking for £14 was a great hassle free way to get your car parked in the city. Staff were very helpful and friendly and I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the heart of the city centre.

From the outside the hotel doesnt look much but enter and everything is of a very good quality. Friendly reception staff and the room we stayed in was excellent and spacious. and it is so close to the Arndale Shopping centre and The Printworks etc. I would definitely book again

Nice big room and very comfortable king bed. Slept very well and room was quiet. We liked the larger room, but did not need it. One downside is that breakfast prices looked a bit expensive, but there are lots of places nearby to nip out for a coffee etc. If we're coming back to Manchester for gigs etc would stay there again!

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Close to shops and restaurants.

Lovely reception, staff very helpful, food was good. We stayed on the 1st floor in a suite, which was or had been a smoking room (which me and my partner are non smokers) the smell of smoke in the room made everything else smell and the room needed updating. It wasnt the cleanist of rooms I had stayed in, there was a stain on the bed spread.

From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, everything was excellent. The receptionist was extremely pleasant, room was very nice and breakfast next morning wa very good and the staff very friendly and efficient. The hotel is very well positioned for both the shops and the MEN arena. We would certainly stay here again when visiting Manchester and would recoomend it to our friends.

Hotel is perfectly placed for concerts at the MEN and is central enough to visit other areas of interest. Hotel was of a good standard throughout, only gripe is the parking arrangements which are not obvious when you approach the hotel. Suggest you use the parking immediately to the left of the hotel which is slightly more expensive than the hotels. Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel for concert goers as it is only a 5 minute walk to the MEN.

A large modern hotel. Reception service not impressive. Room as expected, comfortable and well equipped. With 13 floors needs more lifts (one went out of action). service ok but staff don't go the extra mile. Good location off Deansgate (although they are digging it up at the moment!).

A top notch hotel, our rooms had a sofa coffee table and desk which weren't mentioned when booking. Very impressed, staff were efficient and polite. The position of the hotel is right in the centre easy to get to and great for a night out.

The hotel is nice overall, however, nothing really stood out from any other hotels such as Premier Inn and Travelodge. Our main unhappiness was at check in. We were advised that check in time was 3pm and arrived at 2:55pm to be told that they were extreemely busy, were not expecting as many guests and didnt have our room ready yet. Our visit was for the Oasis concert so I would have presumed that with such an event happening, and the fact that bookings are made in advance, they would have known how many guests would be arriving and had the relevant staff available. We eventually got our room at 4:30pm which delayed our plans for the day but thankfully didnt spoil our enjoyment of the concert.

First Impression was probably about 3star or less - walked inside - it was lovely - staff are friendly - room was nice and spacious - the bed was sooo comfortable - good nights sleep - only stayed one night due to a concert at M.E.N - 5 mins walk away - breakfast was really nice - would definatly stay again.

The location, well you couldnt get any closer. The £14 Valet parking is ideal, especially after a long journey. The rooms, although lovely, seem a little tired. Maybe a lick of paint and a bathroom upgrade?

Stayed at this hotel for two nights in April. The room was very large and clean, nicely decorated, well situated for MEN and shopping, took advantage of vallet parking £14/day. We would have had a lovely stay if it weren't for a couple of problems. The heating and air conditioning did not work, very sunny on first night and arrived back to a sauna,1st poor nights sleep. Apparently this is a problem throughout the hotel, it could not be fixed so was shown 4 other rooms, none of which were any better (were also smaller and shabbier) so stayed with room and had windows opened for us. However it rained that night so along with the early morning wake up call from the builders outside = 2nd poor nights sleep. Was only offered a free drink to compensate. Also discrepancy over breakfast, tried to charge me £18/breakfast when i had booked B&B. Had to produce evidence of booking befor they would let me off!! A shame because it could be a nice hotel but wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel was perfect wit excellent staff and excellent rooms. The location was perfect for shopping and nightlife. would definatley reccommend. Excellent.

Ideal location for MEN arena. Great room with a lot of space. Attentive staff. A very good hotel I would not hesitate to recommend.

Arrived easily at hotel and didn't even have to park the car just popped into reception, keys taken off us and the next time we saw car when it was time to go home - £14 for 24 hours - money well spent! Reception staff very helpful, quick and efficient both for the checking in and out! Excellent room - very spacious with two huge beds, TV and sitting area, lovely comfortable beds and very clean. Bathroom with bath, shower, loo etc and complimentary shampoo, shower gel, soap and moisturising cream! Hospitality tray with kettle, coffee, tea, biscuits etc. Excellent hair dryer provided and plenty of electric plugs! Hotel bar at night a little on the expensive side but very comfortable. Breakfast excellent but very busy, had to queue for a table but could be because we left it until 10.15 to come down (breakfast finishes at 11am). But we were not hurried off our table, plenty of food freshly prepared and hot. Wanted to leave our luggage and shop before going home. There were no problems leaving luggage with reception and also car until we were ready to collect. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Manchester ideal for the MEN Arena and all the main shops including the Arndale Centre and 'big wheel'. Good Italian restaurant right next door - ideal to pop into for meal before a trip to teh MEN! A definite must for anyone wanting to be in the centre of Manchester.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent room and luxurious king sized bed. Bathroom was really clean. In a very central location close to shops and MEN arena. Our car was parked for us by the hotel staff. It was worth the £14 to know it was safe and secure in the heart of the city. We will be going back to this Hotel again.

This hotel is ideally placed for M.E.N. ,Manchester Wheel,friendly bars and of course the shops. When we arrived the frot of house staff could not have been more helpfull. I took advantage of the valet parking and was pleased with this service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. but felt a little T.L.C. wouldnot have gone amiss. We ate in the hotel and the wating/barstaff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make your stay pleasurable and unforgetfull.Overall a very enjoyable stay.

my friend and i stayed only one nite at hotel but we were very impressed with everything. We were in manchester to go to a concert and the venue was 5 min walk and the main shops were 3 min walk. i would highly recommend this hotel to everyone for a short or longer stay in the centre of manchester. We will most certainly use the hotel again

We were in Manchester for the Tina Turner concert at the MEN Arena and found it was only a 5 minute walk not only for the arena but also to many restuarants and shops. We arrived and did not have to worry about parking the car as there valet parking service took care of that it was worth the daily rate of £14 although could be costly if staying more nights. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotless and we both enjoyed a good nights sleep. Breakfast next morning couldn't have been better with a good choice something for everyone. Really enjoyed the succulent sausages.

Always stay at this hotel when visiting Manchester, convienent location,secure car park, freindly and helpfull staff, always tidy and clean, Our room heating was not working, immediat response from maitainence, couldnt be fixed they provided a fan heater, did have choice of changing rooms, Breakfast sets you up for the rest of the day, everything you can think of as choices.

comfortable and friendly place to stay

Not knowing one end of Manchester from another we hit jackpot in finding this lovely hotel with its top location for a great weekend away with sisters and Mum! We could not fault the location, it was all of 2 to 3 minutes from fantastic shoppping, really comfortable rooms, lovely staff and a great casual Italian restaurant next door. Had we been granted a wish list it would be hard to beat what we got! We did not eat at the hotel other than the great breakfast but we were always happy to return to our very comfortable, interconnecting rooms which added to the type of weekend we wanted. We really would be happy to return again and recommend it.

I would highly recommend this hotel. Everything was A1 staff extremely helpful, ideally situated, very clean was highly impressed with rooms.

Hotel was very central, short walk to Arena and shops/bars only across the road. Room was top class. Had excellent breakfast in the room, service was spot on. Would definately go back!

The hotel was very close to all sorts of amenities - the Arndale centre, the Manchester eye and the MEN arena which we had come to visit. Staff were really helpful, breakfast was nice. The car parking was very safe and secure. The corridors are perhaps looking a bit dated but how trivial is that! All in all a nice stay, just what we needed.

Great location for cinema, Manchester Evening News .Arena (Men Arena), shopping (Arndale Centre) walking distance, Trafford Centre a taxi ride away. Staff were all so helpful and polite which is rare to find these days. Room was big with seating area and well presented. We were extremely happy with everything and would definetly book again.

Hotel well located within walkind distance of MEN Arena and shops. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and service excellent. Will definately be coming back.

A warm welcome, valet parking, a huge kingsize bed and spacious room. An excellent range of breakfast choices, we were told upon arrival that we were room only but when I queried this and showed the Receptionist my booking confirmation she immediately informed the dining room and we had a lovely full English breakfast. This was our Xmas treat we usually use Travelodge and we were very pleased.

At relatively short notice, booked a long weekend break weekend before Xmas08, partly as a shopping weekend, partly to support son who was taking part in ITV production (Britannia High) at Royal College of Music. Arriving late 11pm, we were nonetheless welcomed most warmly, car was valet parked, room (2 x queen beds) was quite lovely. Following morning, a hearty breakfast was served, again by staff who quietly but efficiently satisfied every need. This standard of friendly service remained throughout the whole stay. The hotel is to be commended too for the additional request of an extra single bed on the last night after studio arrangements changed for my son. The bed arrived within 30 minutes of the request. Room service (a late set of sandwiches and drinks which were excellent and warm ) again came remarkably quickly. We will certainly stay again when visiting Manchester. The hotel's central location, close to shops, is great and the warmth and friendliness of the staff will be remembered.

Whilst you cannot deny the excellent location (centre of Manchester),the good customer service (valet parking, room service food great), the fact that none of the windows opened in the whole hotel left me feeling really stuffy and to a point claustrophobic. For this reason alone i would not stay here again.

Nice hotel, great location right in the heart of the action. Excellent opportunities for retail therapy just up the street. Very friendly staff.

This hotel is in an excellent location for the shops and the buzz of Manchester. Our room was beautifully decorated and the service was excellent.

Two norwegians (man 51 and 17 year old son) stayed two days at the hotel on our football tour to Old Trafford. The room was very nice and the staff were very helpful - giving us a lot of helpful information about where to go and how to get there. Location is very central. We did not buy any meal at the hotel. A lot of different restaurants and fast food close to the hotel.

We stayed over night 4 ladies the staff were unbelievable bringing us a snack outside when my friends we having a cigarette at 4 in the morning. Breakfast in bed with a member of staff serving it all out to us like we were princesses. (we were actually very hungover and very grateful) On arrival and departure the reception staff were friendly and very helpful.

The hotel is well placed,easy to get to coming in from A56, its near the Arndale Centre and easy walking to main areas, lots of bars and restaurants in the area, hotel was excellant the staff are very attentative, friendly,helpful and proffesional, rooms are spotless and comfortable, as is all of the hotel, only had breakfast thier but this was a wide and varied choice and all very good. The car park is very secure.

We came here for a wedding in Deansgate and found the Renaissance to be a comfortable hotel in a great location, traditional in decor rather than boutique style. Staff were very friendly, even though we had a power cut for about 4 hours of our stay, they couldn't have been more helpful. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic, well worth the cost on a rainy Manchester morning.

Booked for a weekend away , all three rooms in our group were clean and spacious. Decor looking a little tatty maybe. Would be nice to be able to open a window. The service from the hotel was very good .

I havent stayed in Manchester before. I must say I was very impressed with the hotel, they couldnt do enough for us. It was my daughters birthday and they surprised her with a birthday cake. Top marks to the hotel and staff. .

Cannot fault the location right in the centre. The room was super and the breakfast was good. Needs a few more signs and directions - could not find our was around but as moans go that really isn't much. A great hotel, well worth the money

Excellent location - tricky to find if you don't know Manchester! Slight drawback having to get a passcard from Reception before being able to access car park - this meant pulling up outside in a busy City Centre location. Only one downside were some poorly located inaccessible lifts to all floors. All were very busy and slow. Fantastic room - 2 double beds - but had to ask for sufficient supplies of tea/coffee for 3 guests. Great food in bar and excellent prompt room service delivered with a smile and friendliness! All round great hotel.

The hotel had a plush lobby, I can reccommend the free chocolate brownies at reception! The staff are very helpful and couldn't have done more for us. The room was very comfortable, could do with a lick of paint but was still very nice. I would reccommend anyone to stay there and would definately go again.

The hotel was chosen for its location and as such it proved to be an excellent choice. Reception staff were great and our room was excellent with wonderful views from the 10th floor. Everything was excellent other than our late night meal following our visit to the MEN arena. Staff got our menu choice wrong, not a big mistake but one I wouldn't expect from this type of hotel. Then there was great confusion when paying - staff couldn't find a pen to sign the bill. Upon checking out, the printer wasn't working, delaying our departure from the Hotel. Having said that I would still go back and would recommend this hotel as I'm sure the issues were just a slight hiccup that evening.

this hotel was a great pick bang in the center of Manchester, so shopping was really easy .....had to pay an extra £28 for parking which i didnt know before i got there but all in all great stay
