Hilton Montreal Bonaventure - Montreal

I choose this Hotel because it was close to the Bell Center. It also seemed close to Old Montreal, Downtown and Chinatown. Everything was within walking distance! I felt like we were centrally located to all the great tourist spots in Montreal. The hotel's beautiful gardens and outdoor swimming pool also was a huge plus to me. It was hard to remember that we were 17 floors up. The Restuarant at the hotel served wonderful food. We did room service, the bar and the restaurant and never had a bad meal! I'm looking forward to returning to the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure in December for some hockey!

Everything was awesome. Great for the price we paid. Excellent conceirge service. Big, clean room. Good water pressure in the shower, adjustable head. Comfy bed. Extensive TV selection. Wonderful pool. Great room service breakfast. Close to attractions and transportation. Our only "complaint" was that the bathroom door seemed either crooked or a little bigger than the frame -- it was pretty tough to close it all the way and then get it back open....took a little slamming to get it done. But other than that, this is a great place to stay.

everything is nice and wonderful except the floor layout and the main entrance was'nt grand.

From check in to check out, our experience with the hotel was great. The hotel is the last 2 floors of a building so it is very quiet and very nice. The service was very good and always with a smile. Great job! Thank you!

Hotel convenient to transportation and to areas of interest. Room was clean and comfortable although it was small. There was parking in a lot under the hotel. However this was a municipal lot. Parking was not free. Valet parking waqs avilable but was even more costly.

Excellent location near shops and close to metro.Smart hotel which is reached via an elevator to a penthouse which is a nuisance. Our room was spacious and clean but the fan switch in the bathroom was broken and the TV picture was poor.Despite being a flat screen signal not up to it. Still recommend hotel if price is right.

Such friendly staff! The Executive rooms have access to a great club room with snacks and drinks available all day long. The bed was outstandingly comfortable. I may purchase one for home!

Outstanding experience at the Hilton Bonaventure. Great location, easy to find off of the Highway. The heated swimming pool makes it a unique experience in the winter. Easy walk to shopping, restaurants and strip clubs. Five Stars !

We traveled in January so being able to use the underground to travel from train to hotel was a major plus. I concur with previous traveler reviews that the executive floor is well worth it. Service was great. The room was exactly as requested; clean and the bedding so comfortable that I ordered a comparable mattress for my bedroom last week. The best meal we had during our stay was at the hotel dining room on our first night in Montreal. We ate at many 'fine' (read: well advertised, 'tourist trap,' overpriced yet woefully lacking dining establishments)during our stay and kept saying afterward "why didn't we eat at the hotel?" We won't make that mistake again. The pool was the highlight of the trip. The water is warm, steam is rising from the water, the setting is beautiful, my children (and husband who could very well qualify as a 'kid')had huge smiles and snow was gently drifting down from the sky and sticking to our hair. It was amazing. As far as the previous comments about the halls and decor: yes, the hotel is different. My children and I read all of the reviews of Montreal hotels before booking our trip. Day after day walking through the halls my kids would ask questions such as "did those people stay at this exact hotel"? and "I don't get it, do people think all hotels have to look the same?" My response? Different can be a good thing. A very good thing.

This hotel is convenient if you are taking the train because it is literally across the street. There is a heated pool that you enter underwater. Nice hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

We were upgraded to an executive suite with membership in the Bonaventure Club. They offered drinks and appetizers and a very nice breakfast--all complimentary.

Really Nice Hotel, The staff was helpful. Really well orgainized and well located in Montreal!

This has got to be the ugliest building in montreal, and the weirdest set up I have ever seen, but the rooftop pool is great and the rooms are just as awesome. i was with a group of friends for my 21st birthday, so it wasn't exactly great that the age grouping was a lot older, but everyone was really nice and accommodated us. I would recommend this for business trips or short stays, that's what everyone there seemed to be doing.

The outdoor heated pool was amazing and concierge was most helpful. It was also very close to shops and restaurants which was nice.

The beds were AMAZING!!! The people there were all really nice and helpful with directions/what to do. The location of the hotel was almost prime. Under the hotel is a metro station and if you don't feel like taking metro (we didn't) you can walk underground down a few blocks to the bars and clubs on ground level. There really wasn't anything wrong with the hotel other than parking is either $17 every time you get your car or $24 for valet. Either way it's a lot and they seemed strict on how many people are in the hotel so you have to sneak in other guest you aren't claiming. The best bar we found was the Irish Pub they had good drinks at really good prices. The rest of them were really expensive and weren't as crowded (or fun).

It's crazy how this hotel is basically on top of an office building. Great experience overall. Reasonably priced, comfortable bed, very nice rooftop scenery. Easy access to the underground city. Nice fitness center. A couple small negatives though: -The outdoor pool was a little too cold given that it was 20 degrees F outside. Would have been nice if they upped the water temp 4-5 degrees. -Parking is a ripoff at $17 a day -Some of the concierges don't know jack about places to eat, etc.

The room was excellent, the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The Hilton Montreal Bonaventure is a very nice and conveniently located hotel. It's what you would generally expect from a "franchise" hotel, but it did have a pretty intimate feel. Best feature in my room: a door that connected directly to the outdoor heated pool [which I would've liked even more heated]. The service was outstanding; personable but not sugary. The main restaurant, Le Castillon, was really excellent, only slightly pricey. My major gripes about the place were little things: the direct-connect buttons to concierge, restaurants, room svc., etc were non-functional on both phones; the toilet handle was stuck and had to be dislodged with each flush; there was a big wet stain near the pool door exit [perhaps from the previous guest] and overall, the lighting in the hotel room was bad--too dark. also, my room card kept getting demagnitized and i had to call security to let me in. The fitness facility was also pretty pedestrian. Nonetheless, for the price, the hotel was great; convenient; with reasonably-priced on-site parking, which was great, because I drove up from ny.

Had a good time. Great place to stay in.

The Hilton Bonaventure has an unusual roooftop garden that is quite lovely and an unusual treat in an urban hotel. The heated outdoor pool is also a very nice feature. The TV in the room was broken when we arrived, but fixed promptly. Two negatives: there was an annoying surcharge for in-room internet access, and the phone charges were shockingly high. The hotel staff was helpful and very friendly, especially the doormen.

...unfortunately the hotel does not offer any food or drink after the main bar is closed. No vending machines to buy a simple chocolate bar or a bottle of water. I found this extremely annoying, as it forces you to purchase the available bottle of water in your room $7.50. This is not accomodating

The Hotel really exceded our expectations. The room was super clean. The bed the most comfortable I ever slept in. It had crisp white sheets, with a big and snuggly down blanket. The bathroom was clean, bright und the shower had good water pressure and it stayed hot. The personnel was super friendly and helpful. Everyone spoke English as well as French. Would stay there again.

Besides the carpet being stained in a couple of places, the hotel was amazing. Perfect location. It was easy to get to and the service was great. I will be back.

Hotel was overbooked and the hotel booked me into a similar hotel one block away. The accomodations at that hotel were fine. Since this room was booked 3 months in advanced, this was most dissappointing for a non-refundable ticket.

Well, it's the first hotel I've stayed in without an elevator.....I was told by the locals that Hilton bought it, but did not actually build it. My room was on the third floor and I had to climb steps to get to it. Luckily, I had two friends with me to help me get my luggage up the steps as no bellhop offered to help. I went down the hall to get ice and the door to my room was so heavy it slammed hard against my left hand and left it bloody and sore for days. No way could one person leave room service trays outside in the hall as instructed-impossible as heavy as those doors were and how fast they closed. That night I was awakened by loud banging at my door. Someone had blocked the entrance to my room with a painting and a large chair. Security took the items away and had to patrol the hallway as the banging continued. obviously someone playing a prank, but if this is the type of customers they cater to I'm not interested in staying there again.
