Cathedral Hill Hotel - San Francisco

Das Hotel sieht auf den Bildern nobler aus als es ist. Aber für den Preis völlig OK. Nachts lungern auch mal eine Straße weiter zwielichtige Gestalten herum, aber das ist denke ich überall so. Nicht allzuweit von der Cablecar entfernt, Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Haus. Die Tageskarte gilt für beides. Gegenüber Kneipe und günstiges Restaurant.

Habe noch nie in einem so schlechten Hotel übernachtet. Das Hotel ist schon etwas heruntergekommen, teilweise fehlen in den Zimmer die Fensterhenkel, so das man sie gar nicht öffnen kann. Die Wände und Böden sind total dreckig, in den Gängen hat es manchmal gestunken, als wenn irgendwo ein Abwasserrohr gebrochen wäre. Ich würde das Hotel auf keinen Fall weiterempfehlen!

Wir waren von diesem Hotel sehr enttäuscht! Das Zimmer: Tapeten hingen von der Wand, Schimmel (versteckt durch Vorhang) Fenster ließen sich nicht schließen, dadurch recht laut. Außenanlage am Pool schmuddelig. Personal nicht besonders bemüht und zuvorkommend (bis auf den Herrn am Sightseeing-Buchungs-Schalter!!). Wir sind aus Versehen einen Tag zu früh abgereist, wurden aber nicht darauf hingewiesen. Das einzig positive war, dass das Hotel ziemlich zentral liegt.

Gute Lage, Preis-Leistung ok. Könnte eine Renovierung vertragen. Front Desk Mitarbeiter nicht besonders freundlich.

Wir haben eine etwas bessere Kategorie nach hinten zum Poolbereich gebucht. Dort gibt es teilweise Balkone. Diese Zimmer sind relativ ruhig. Das kann man schon empfehlen. Bushaltestelle ist in der Nähe. Da zum Sonderpreis gebucht war Preis-Leistung recht gut.

Das Hotel insgesamt ist ziemlich verwohnt, doch die Zimmer sind ganz ok, ausreichend groß ebenso das Bad. Den Normalpreis würde ich nicht zahlen wollen, doch zum Sommerpreis (50 % off)ist es sehr gut, besonders wenn man ein ruhigeres Zimmer zum Innenhof u. behiztem Pool hat! Gegenüber auf der anderen Straßenseite gibt es ein deli mit köstlichen Buttercroissants und rechts neben dem Eingang eine gute Kneipe/Restaurant, in dem super gut und günstig in einer urigen Atmospäre essen kann.

Für USA verhältnisse gutes Frühstück und erst noch im Preis inbegriffen. Preiswerter Parkplatz 16 $

Das Hotel liegt an einer der beiden Hauptrouten durch San Francisco Downtown. Zur Market street nur wenige Gehminuten. Bushaltstellen west/ost und nord/süd in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das Cable-Car zum Hafen ist nur 1 Block entfernt und nicht so überlaufen wie die Haltestelle an der Powell street. Der Pool (rund und etwa 5 Meter Durchmesser) war im September zwar noch beheizt, aber Sonnenschirme und Liegen entfernt und ohne Service.

Parkplatz nicht im Preis enthalten und extra entrichtet werden (20 USD pro Tag). Zimmer ok; Poolbereich lieblos; zentrale Lage.

Das Hotel liegt an der Ecke Geary / Van Ness. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber, ok man sieht dass das Hotel nicht mehr das neueste ist aber ansonsten ist es echt OK. Auch der beheitzte Pool war klasse. Das Parken war mit der 50%-Rabatt-Parken Rate kostenlos. Bushaltestellen Richtung Unionsquare sind in unmittelbarer Nähe. Hinter dem Hotel befindet sich ein mittelgroßer Einkaufmarkt wo man das wichtigste zur Verpflegung findet. Somit können wir das Hotel für San Francisco Freunde nur empfehlen.

Zimmer war sauber. Hotel-Frühstück war zum Vergessen. Mit dem Auto ist man schnell in San Diego.

Guter Service, Fenster alt und undicht. Viel zu laut an der Straßenseite, Zimmer zum Innenhof / Pool möglicherweise besser

im Großen und Ganzen konnte man mit dem Zimmer sehr zufrieden sein.

Wer ein preisgünstige und zentrale Unterkunft in SF sucht, ist dort bestens ausfgehoben. Der Check in war sehr freundlich, (wir konnten um 10 statt um 15.00 Uhr aus Zimmer) die Zimmer sauber und vor allem die zentrale Lage mit Bushaltestellen vor der Tür sprechen für dieses Hotel. Auch wenn der Rotlichtbezirk zwei Straßen weiter beginnt, ist das Haus ideal. Zudem gibt es mehrere Möglichkeiten in der unmittelbaren Nähe zu Frühstücken.

The front desk service was outstanding and very professional. The room was quite noisy as you could hear the street noise from the ac unit. All in all it was a nice place for the $$$; however I'm told this hotel will be turned into a hospital in October.

we thought we got a really good deal for the money we paid. the hotel is older but it was clean and had an antique feeling to it. parking was convenient and right beneath the hotel. comfortable beds and friendly staff!

Wonderful for the price, especially if you book early enough on hotels.com to get best rate. You can tell that this was probably very swanky in the 60's(just not expensively redone recently), the lobby and pool were gorgeous... i'd rather the hallway carpeting not be brand new than them raise their rates! Convenient location, friendliest front desk and fastest response to any requests....Can't wait to go back.

The Asian personnel (we just forgot to take note of her name) at the front desk was very helpful.

Great room for the money. Great location and easy excess to bus,local resturants. Loved the swim pool-very comfortable heated pool for the very cool day. They ran out of pool-side towels one day and it took 3 calls and 45 minutes later for towels to be brought to pool- side for us and the others guests in the pool. Otherwise service was great.

At first glance the hotel seemed very nice, well kept, and the staff was very friendly. Our decision to stay at this hotel was based mainly on the location in proximity to where most of our plans were to take place. As soon as we entered our room a sour hospital-like smell was instantly noticeable. The second thing we notcied was that the walls were bare - no pictures anywhere. Third, the walls were stained. And fourth, the floor inbetween the two beds was very very badly stained. We did end up staying in this room for a few good reasons (aside from the fact that the front desk mentioned the hotel was completely booked); the linens were clean, the bathroom was very clean, and the room size was actually fairly large. One other thing is how impressively quiet it seemed to be in our room. The walls were thick, and we were never bothered by neighboring noises. Would I stay in this hotel again? Yes - but I would make sure to stay in a different room, one with pictures on the walls and clean floors.

The lobby is aesthetically pleasing, so we were a little thrown off when we walked into the room. The decor is old, and the carpet has spots and burns all over it. The bathroom was not clean, the drain for the shower didn't work, we had to keep it held open with a bar of soap, and there was dirt on the shower walls. No A/C, but the windows opened which seemed to work fine because even though it was the middle of August, the temp didn't get above 65 degrees. I would not recommend this hotel.

I was surprised at the room we got for the money we paid. The rooms were clean, except for the carpet. It was centrally located to all the places we wanted to see and cable cars were within 5 blocks. Easy walking distance. Staff at the desk were all very friendly. We had a wonderful time.

We found the hotel to be very clean and the rooms and beds comfortable. The hotel was next to a couple restaurants and right on the bus line, so it was very convenient. Parking, although not free, was easy and roomy. The hotel was much classier than I thought it would be and an incredible bargain. We would stay there again.

It was great room for the money. However only problem was it was too noisy. You can hear car running sound from street and your neighbor rooms.....overall, I liked this hotel.

We relied on public transportation to get all over the city, and it worked great. The hotel was clean and convenient, and a good bargain.

I was able to take advantage of a very competitive rate this hotel offered during my extended stay in San Francisco. It's not the Four Seasons, but for the money it's completely satisfactory and very convenient.

The whole place needs to be recarpeted, reupholstered and cleaned up.

First of all the staff was rude, like they couldn't stand tourists and were above us. Guess what...if it weren't for tourists you probably would be out of a job. Also, this hotel is VERY outdated. The only way i would stay there again is if i spent between 1-2 hours awake there. We were exhausted when we got to the city and we wanted to get dinner and come back to the hotel,lay in bed and watch tv...well they have the very basic of cable and we had to pay $10 for 24 hours. Overall it was a disappointing start to our honeymoon. Again, staff was very rude and very unhelpful, like we were wasting their time. The only thing good about the hotel was the location...we walked all over the city.

Older hotel but larger than most room and balcony if staying on courtyard.

This might have been a very nice hotel at one time , however the Hospital it once was is returning to such , apparently in october 09 it will no long be in service as a hotel i was told ~ The carpet waa dirty , missing pictures on the walls , DONT stay on the 4th floor where we were told you have a patio , it turned out you have a patio the you share with everyone else as well ~ the Lobby was nice , thats where i would rest my head if i had to stay at this hotel again ~

We had a great stay at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Despite the San Francisco rush hour noise, things did settle down. This hotel is scheduled for renovation into a hospital within the next few years. With that said, the upkeep seems to be slacking just a little. Still, I was greeted by friendly staff and my room was what I expected - clean & tidy. Great breakfast buffet. I would stay here again!

Very Dated Hotel....It's like being sucked threw a worm hole and traveling through time and ending up in the sixties...lol....Best part is Jommy's Joynt Next door,,,great food for cheap...and Village Pizza is close buy..great pizza by the slice

Someone in the next room ordered room service the first night I got there, and the tray was not picked up for three days. The second day I told someone at the service desk who assured me it would be taken care of, but wasn't. Not until I showed it to one of the maids was it removed. But again, that was three days later. Each day I left a small tip for the maids, but on the second day, we returned to our room in the afternoon to find the tip was taken but the room was not serviced. If I were to do it over again, I would stay somewhere closer to Union Station and pay the extra bucks.

found a good rate on hotel.com for this room but the management of cathredral hill tharwted the efforts of family members who had someone in the cpmc hospital, kept trying to charge more and more

As soon as you walk into your room you will realize how dirty it is. The walls are dirty and I would highly recommend that you wear sandals or socks at all times. We also had a shocking experience, while my friend was in the shower all of the lights turned off!!! We were so scared! I had to call the front desk and it took them a while to fix the problem! I had never had this experience happen to me before. My recommendation would be to pass on this hotel, even for the price.

Kind of an 'old school' place, but the room was clean and sheets were very nice and comfortable. I read complaints about $20 parking from another guest's post and honestly, that's HALF of what it costs at other hotels. The concierge was very nice and let us extend check-out by one hour since we were running the SF marathon - that allowed us to relax and shower. It was a good place to stay for the weekend.
