ein sehr schön eingerichtetes hotel, das personla ist freundlich, das frühstück okay. nur die gegend ist leider sehr unpassend. zwar downtown, aber gleich angrenzend an ein nicht s oschönes viertel, mit obdachlosen, die einen auch gerne mal ansprechen. die oropax liegen auch nicht ohne grund auf dem nachttisch. aber sonst kann man nichts negatives sagen...

Gemessen am relativ günstigen Preis ist dieses Hotel für San Francisco wirklich zu empfehlen. Freundlicher Service, gute Betten und schneller Zugang zu allen wichtigen hot spots bieten einen guten Einstieg in die Stadt

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und der nette Valet Parker half uns gut über die doch recht enge Anfahrsituation vor dem Hotel, die aber wegen der Häuserschluchten wohl vor jedem Hotel so ist, hinweg. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist der recht kleine Frühstücksraum und der Umfang des Frühstücks, welches aber im Zimmerpreis inbegriffen war. Wir waren da vielleicht aber auch etwas verwöhnt von anderen Orten, insb. Las Vegas, wo es üppige Frühstücksbüffets gab, allerdings gegen Aufpreis. Das Frühstück war an sich aber in Ordnung. Besonderheit dieses Hotels ist, daß jedes Zimmer neben der Nummer auch den Namen eines Films trägt und daß es unten einen kleinen Vorführraum gibt, in dem jeden Abend zwei Filme gezeigt werden. Alles in allem zu empfehlen. Auch das Auschecken hat wunderbar und schnell geklappt.

Schönes, individuelles Hotel in super zentraler Lage. Man ist in 5 Minuten am Union Square und hat die Cable-Car-Haltestelle praktisch vor der Tür. Das Hotel ist schön und gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr sauber und hat Flair. Alle Mitarbeiter sind äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit und können einem gute Tips geben, z.B. was Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten angeht! In der direkten Umgebung sind sehr viele Restaurants und Geschäfte, man kann vieles bequem zu Fuß erreichen. Das Frühstück ist auch okay, zwar nicht allzu vielfältig, aber man wird satt. In der näheren Umgebung des Hotels hängen zwar viele Obdachlose herum, die nachts auch recht laut sind, aber die waren harmlos und ich habe sie nicht als sehr störend empfunden. Auch der Verkehrslärm war für mich nicht weiter störend. Wenn man ein Hotel mitten im Zentrum einer Großstadt bucht, dann läßt sich das nun mal nicht vermeiden. Parken in der Innenstadt ist wahnsinnig teuer, um die 35 Dollar pro Tag, man sollte sein Auto/ Mietauto am besten am Stadtrand abstellen und die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel benutzen, in SF mit dem Auto zu fahren macht keinen Sinn! Ich war wirklich begeistert von dem Hotel, vor allem aber hat es ein unschlagbares Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Würde es jedes Mal wieder buchen!

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, mit sehr guter Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel (Bart, Muninetz u. Cable Cars). Verkauf von entsprechenden Tagespässen direkt am Kiosk Ecke Powell/Marketstreet. Anbindung zum Flughafen entweder über Bart oder Shuttleservice (11 - 15$/Person für einen Weg). Das im Preis enthaltene Frühstück ist bei kürzeren Aufenthalten ausreichend.

Sehr gut gelegen in der Stadt. Ruhig, erholsam zumindest wenn dass Zimmer gegen den Hinterhof ausgerichtet ist. Sehr zuvorkommendes, freundliches Personal.

The hotel switched me out of my room with two twins into a room with a Queen. Not a comfortable situation for two guys looking to attend a sporting event. We had to cancel our room and find another hotel elsewhere. Very unsatisfied.

Friendly staff excellant location...great room for the money!!!!

Besides being in a Slum Section of town, which is only annoying. The Noise from the street at night is outragious. Yes, I read the other reviews But the Reality is to be believed. Move it and it's a Great 2 1/2 Star Hotel with a very nice staff.

The hotel service was great. It was easy to get to and conveniently located to all mass transit. I was worried about some of the reviews I read on the hotel pertaining to the homeless element. There were a lot of vagrants in the area, but that’s expected in a big city. I asked a police officer two blocks away if the hotel was in a safe location and he said not to travel west on Eddy (the cross street) of the hotel, and that he had never had any problems there. The rooms are very clean, but small and the noise outside is loud at night and early morning. The continental breakfast was OK. It’s from 8-10. I would get there early though. When they run out of coffee or bagels after 9:30 or so, they don’t replenish. The staff was very nice and helpful. If I were to stay there again, I would ask for a room on the Mason St. side or the back side of the building; Eddy St. is just too loud.

Convenient location, especially if you arrive by train/bus. Very noisy street sounds until 4AM. Breakfast bland. But price is very good for SF.

Great place overall for the price. Centrally located for shopping and sight seeing. Continental fit the bill. Recommend ;-)

Rooms are small, but very clean. Good location with helpful staff.

I loved the hotel, but the location stinks. We were only there for a quick overnight stay. At 1 in the morning they started collecting garbage! Then in the early morning hours the local drunks started shouting at each other. We didn't get a good night sleep.

The hotel staff goes out of their way to be friendly but the hotel is old and needs to be renovated, carpet is old and dirty. the lobby smells like mold. The rooms are extremely small and have no airconditioning. It is difficult to cool off because if you open your window all you hear is street noise and people yelling. In fact, they give you earplugs. Beds are old and uncomfortable. Rooms are small and tv channels limited. i would not recommend this hotel.

Very clean and cozy. The location is great(stores, bart and muni steps away). Continental breakfast exceeded expectations. Good overall.

Between Union Square and Market Street, it's tough to find a more reasonable, clean, safe space. (and I even found on-street parking overnight and saved the $29).

I have stayed at this location multiple times...and have always been more than satisfied with the experience. This last time was more than exceptional. I left my eyeglasses in the room, and the housekeeping staff looked for them and called me immediately. They even said they would hold them for 3 months! I HIGHLY recommend this gem!

For an inexpensive stay in the city, the value is good. HOWEVER, the location is not good. There is SO MUCH noise.....and by noise I mean gun shots in the middle of the night and people screaming. Plus the walls are paper thin so if you have loud neighbors, it is annoying.

I loved the fact that the hotel had a movie setting to it. Each room is named after a movie, and they also have a mini theater were they play movies daily. The staff was very courteous. Great location too. Very close to Union Square and to public transportation.

This hotel totally exceeded my expectations! The decor was inviting, the bed was the first EVER that I didn't want to get out of!!! I love this hotel!!!

THIS IS A COZY AND GREAT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE. THE ONLY CONCERN I HAVE IS THE IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOOD. THERE WAS SOME NOISE AT NIGHT.

walking distance from bart station. Close to union square. Cool "movie" theme.

Stayed there for 3 nights and had absolutely no problems. The staff was excessively friendly and helpful. Yes, the hotel is on the border of a more run-down neighborhood...but it's also right next to the Powell BART stop and incredibly close to the Union Square shopping district! There are homeless people everywhere in SF, so it wasn't a big deal at all. The hotel just happens to sit right on the edge-- you can see homeless people AND a Nordstrom from the front door. Nice continental breakfast, clean rooms. Definitely will stay again.

What a surprise to find this movie-themed hotel, very clean, very friendly, they even show older movies at night.

Great boutique hotel. Customer service was very good. The bed was hard but I didn't lose sleep over it. Convenient to everything I needed to see. Would recommend it for those on a budget but want nice accommodations.

Very comfortable hotel for the price near the heart of San Francisco, but I must warn against staying in rooms near the elevator, as the noise level is pretty high all night long. I used ear plugs that I carry with me to keep out the noise. Nicely redone, and very clean and well cared for.

This is a clean, basic, personable little hotel in San Francisco, very conveniently located. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. The only thing I could wish for was wi-fi in the lobby, but it's really no big deal.

Location not to good but the inside was good

I stayed at the Hotel Bijou last week. It was great, located a couple of blocks from the BART, the Muni, and the famous cable cars. The place was very clean - especially the lobby bathroom, which was spotless. Also, the desk staff was helpful, free with advice and granola bars.

The hotel is located near the cable car station, but is was loud in the room.

We just got back from a 3-night stay at Hotel Bijou and were very pleasantly impressed by the service and location! The location is great - literally a block away from all forms of public transport. We arrived late at night in San Francisco and had no difficulty finding the hotel. The staff was very friendly and I simply loved that every room has a movie theme. I don't know about you, but as long as the place is clean (which it was), I'd take a memorable hotel over the typical Marriott/Holiday Inn ones. Did I mention that they show 2 movies each day? As we were exploring the city all day, we didn't have the need - but we found it a cool feature to add to the hotel stay experience. The neighborhood around the hotel is busy, so expect some noise at night. The hotel does provide ear plugs for light sleepers, although we didn't use them. There were a few rowdy people on the street by the hotel one night, but overall we felt very safe and comfortable here. We'd definitely stay here again next time we're in San Francisco.

The people working there were very nice and helpful. However, the room did not have air conditioning and the night we were there happened to be one of those rare very hot nights. Opening the window was not really an option while we were sleeping because it was so noisy on the street. Also, the neighborhood, although within walking distance of many of the places we needed to go, was down right dangerous. Anytime my beautiful teenage daughter and her two friends left the hotel they were harassed rudely and walking outside our hotel at night was not an option.

Okay, so it's not the Fanciest Hotel you'll ever stay at but you'll definitely appreciate the quality and price when you're busy blowing a ton of money on everything else in San Francisco! My husband and I stayed here for a few days and had NO COMPLAINTS-it was clean, the staff was friendly and it was pretty centered to all the activities. We would definitely stay there again!

I stayed there during a convention at the Moscone Center. Less than 10 min. walk. Around the corner from Union Square. Not sure what the regular rate is, since I got a special rate, but I feel like I got the deal of the century. The staff was friendly, and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast is standard fare (bagels, muffins, cereal, etc). The older windows let in some sound from the streets, and the TV is worn out, but it's to be expected from an older building. To me, it adds to the charm. I'll stay there again next time in San Francisco.

If you don't mind a little noise and a small room this hotel is good one. The valet parking makes it easy and the location is great.
