Baymont Inn Athens - Athen

The hotel staff was accommodating and worked with us since we had a reservation mix up. The free breakfast was fine, yogurt, cereal, waffles, apples, bagels. All self serve but plenty of everything. The pool is located off the lobby and glass enclosed. It's also heated and has a hot tub area. Nothing fancy but it was clean and suited our purposes since we were moving our daughter into Ohio University. It was about a five minute drive to the campus and very close to stores and restaurants.

I had made a reservation for a double non smoking room and ended up with a room that had a queen bed and a roll away. Hallways smelled like a locker room. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance. General condition of this property reflects the poor maintenance.

Considering others were much higher, I did'nt know what to expect from this hotel. Well, it turned out just fine. Room was clean, price was good, and it was close to campus and restaurants in the area. I would stay here again without any problem.

The hallways could use some work upstairs. The floors feel like they are weak in spots in the hallway upstairs. Doors leading to and from stairs need to have tighter hydraulics because the upstair door slams upon entry and exit. Overall the hotel was clean and nice. Had a very unpleasant head housekeeper who complained to anybody around about how unhappy she was with her job and spoke very badly of her coworkers.

The bathroom was very small and the bath tub was not level. The continental breakfast was fine but I had better ones at other hotels. The pool area was very nice and had plenty of clean towels to use. I would go back again, if I was not able to get reservation at other hotels in the area

Great Room Clean well kept Fair Value

The hotel was clean, although could use some refurbishing. Excellent front desk service! I would stay again if I had the occasion to return to Athens.

Recently visited Ohio University, and the hotel was minutes away.The hotel needs some updates, the rooms look very used.Bathroom sink and mirror area very small.(Outside of bathroom)Was o.k. for a quick overnight stay.

Smells like stale cigarette smoke.

this was a great midpoint on our trip, and the ONLY hotel in the area to do a complimentary breakfast and had an indoor pool. traveling as a family made these mandatory and the amerihost fit our needs perfectly.

Nice indoor pool area for families. The room was spacious and clean. There was free internet service in the lobby. The only disappointing part of the stay was the bathroom. It appeared old, but it could have been the poor quality of the building materials.

Heater was not working. Even on the lowest setting the room was an oven and the heater did not turn off. We finally turned it off and slept in a freezing room My sister stayed there the night before we arrived and had no hot water in the morning. Not a horrible stay, but the place could use some routine maintenance.
