Walt Disney World Dolphin - Lake Buena Vista

We are satisfied with our visit and wish that we could of spent a couple of more days in this wonderful hotel.

It started with the Mandatory $10 fee for two bottles of water and the wireless internet, which I couldn't use without a laptop which I do not bring on vacation. Then I used the computer in the business center and was charged $16.00 for use of there computer and internet. I went down stairs to the buffet for breakfast and was shocked at $18 per person for that breakfast so we left, the next morning we were billed for it anyway, and there were two of us so that would be $36, why was the bill $48, that is some dishonestly. They credited the bill but did not appologize. Finally the morning we left the housekeeper knocked on the door and awoke me and my wife at 8:30 in the morning, and I think that is too early, and a part such as your I would think you would have a better system for knowing when the room is available for cleaning besides waking me up.

We truly enjoyed this property. Our room was very clean and spacious and we had a wonderful view.

For what they charge they should not charge more for parking and a resort fee.

Excellent stay. Staff was great! Room was great! Walking distance to Epcot. Water taxi to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

I read reviews where guests complained about having to pay $9 for the self parking, well, although I found it a bit odd, I'm looking at the bright side: I did not have to pay for the $12 parking at the Disney parks.

The last thing you want is to pay a bunch of money and then wait in a line to check in after driving 3 hours to get there. I took less than 5 minutes to check in, some of the people in frontof me took 30 minutes, what takes that long? There should be some sort of express lane for people who just want a key and their room number. I had already paid online for two rooms. The hotel was nice and the amenties were great. Although I stood at the bar by the pool for atleast 30 minutes. It wasn't even that packed at the bar. If you want a couple of chairs by the pool together forget it. Not a place to sit. You have to wait until 6pm when people start to leave. I was only there for less than 24 hours and spent most of my time waiting.

The Dolphin & Swan are ideally located. The grounds beautiful. Food is great. The problem is we Stayed at the Swan first,found it to be very damp in the room.But loved the beds(we even purchashed one after our stay). So we gave the Dolphin a try and also found it to be moldy smelling & very damp.Needless to say until they fix the problem we will not return. or recomend them to friends or relatives. Sorry. We loved the character breakfast!!!

I couldn't wait to pack to go to the Dolphin Resort - the amenities, resort and grounds are all First Class!! We could have stayed at the Resort the whole time and enjoyed the Pools, the Epcot Boardwalk, gym, stores - you name and it is here!! We will suggest the Dolphin to everyone we know! We will remember our time here and will come back for sure!! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE IN THE RESORT FOR EVERYTHING!!

Nice place with electic decor. My teenager loved it because it's different than most hotels-seems more "fun" but still has some elegance to it. The best part of it is the boat to the theme parks-soo much easier than going to your car after a long day. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are nice. The bathroom is VERY small and mirror area is not lit well, not much counter space either. You really need to dodge the door to close it-it comes almost up to the toilet when closing and almost touches the shower when open (none of us are large people). The doors slam shut automatically (no soft close mechanism) so around 8am you start hearing alot of them between people leaving rooms and housekeeping. The carpet did seem clean though, both in the rooms and the hallways. And there are many dining options. The pool closed at 9pm when we were there :( Probably won't stay there again, there are too many better options in Orlando.

Luxurious, quiet, and relaxing. A $10 additional service fee was charged (hotel said all guests got it). During rain, all outdoor amenities, such as pool, whirlpool and beach cannot be used. Otherwise, perfect!

Need to update carpet in rooms

The hotel seemed old and had a makeover rather than a total refurbishment. Swimming pool 'complex' wasn't that great with 2 pools, 1 small slide and a waterfall but then spent all time in the parks so not too much of a problem. Finally the Disney shuttle buses were very unreliable with waits of half an hour in the evening to get on an overcrowded bus for a 20/30 minute drive back to the hotel.

Even though our lake view room ended up being a view of a puddle on the roof, we had a great time! The close proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk made our stay worthwhile! Beware of the $9 a day parking fee and the $10 a day non-optional package fee (for use of the gym,60 minutes of phone calls,and 2 bottles of water a day). Overall it was still a wonderful place to stay for couples a families!!

We booked our stay last minute at the Dolphin due to the other WDW hotels being full. It is a Disney hotel, but it not affiliated fully--so don't expect to see the characters everywhere. The beds were so comfortable, rooms spacious. The pool has a waterslide, volleyball net, and two hot tubs. There are many restaurants between the two hotels. Outdoors has hammocks and playground area. Walk across the street to the mini-golf. Walk around the circle past the Boardwalk, Yacht Club&Beach Club hotels to the backside of Epcot. There is a watercraft that will take you to Epcot and Hollywood Studios too. Fantastic seafood restaurant downstairs that offers filet mignon with blue cheese mashed potatoes--To Die For!!! We will stay again.

We went for one night with our boys ages 2 & 4. Stayed in a deluxe room, lots of space for the boys to run around. Had views of Epcot which was beautiful but the fireworks were just OK. The pools were super fun, cute water slide that my 4 year old did without a problem. We brought pool toys with us. The bar at the pool has a kids menu with delicious pizza. The employees at the hotel were very, very nice.

Our stay at the Walt Disney World Dolphin was perfect from start to finish. The only bad part was leaving! Check in was fast and easy, and The woman who tok care of us was extremely nice and accomdating. We had read one negative hotel review, talking about mold in one of the rooms, so we asked for one of the renovated ones. She was more than happy to upgrade us to one of the rooms that had been re-done. Our room was spacious, clean and had a great view. The hotel grounds were spectacular, the pools were great, and the hammocks on the white sand beaches were so relaxing! There were always activities going on, including smores on the beach, and karaoke. We didn't need to rent a car, as water taxi's were available for free to all of the Disney parks, and buses were available as well. As long as we can find a similar deal each time we go to Disney, we will never stay anywhere else ever again.. This hotel is PERFECT!!! (the only thing I will say is that the hotel restaurants are very expensive..it was actually cheaper to eat in the parks surprisingly enough!)

We stay all over inside Disney and we love the Dolphin. The beds are soooooooo...comfy and the view from our room was fabulous. We got there late and right when we walked in the fireworks were going off. Kind of far to the pool from our room. Recommend staying on the 1st floor if requestable. The pool area is great and they have fun activities for kids. Lots of treats to eat all over hotel. Best price on hotels.com. You won't be disappointed.

This hotel is a place I had always wanted to stay at and then finally had the chance. It's a beautiful property and close to everything you'd want in Disney. However, it's showing its age. I couldn't believe how small our room was. The room was tiny. This hotel has many amenities and is a nice hotel considering its location. One thing I hated was the fact that they charge you to park your car. This wasn't anywhere in the disclaimer or I would have never stayed here. This added an extra fee to the bottom line. Considering the parking lot was empty I thought this to be silly. I've stayed in better places.

We had had Magical Stay at the Walt Disney Dolphin. Unfortunately it rained & we were unable to go to the Magic Kingdom but, the Hotel amenities were sooooo great that we didn't feel like we missed a thing. My wife and I lounged by the pool sipping on Daquries, while my nephew & son went swimming. They also played Super Soaker Hot Potato, Basketball, & Hoola Hooping. Later that evening we retired back to the hotel room and watched movies that were offered through the hotels movie system. The next time my wife and I go back I will definetly be taking care of Walt Disney Dolphin spa located by the east elevators. The only thing that was a minor downfall was that I stuck my foot on a nail in my hotel room and when I reported it to the front desk it didn't seem to bother them. Please don't miss the opportunity of staying at this gorgeous facility on your next visit to the Disney area.

Walk the boardwalk to Epcot or take a boat, you can't beat the convenience. I got a good deal thru hotels.com for three nights of our trip. Tried to extend our stay but the rate was 2.5 times what I had paid, so we reluctantly moved to a different resort hotel. Room was comfortable for myself, wife, and 5 & 7 year old grandkids. We rented a car, so the valet service for 16.00 was well worth it. Beds are comfortable, room is quite, and the view from our room was great.

I can't think of anything that was not exceptional about this hotel or our stay there.

Great rooms excellent service lots of upgrades witout asking....

This was our first time to Disney and we loved the hotel! The conceirge service was wonderful and helped us make our trip to WDW extra special. The pool area was an awesome mid-day break and evenings on the weekend they had activities for the children. Coming from the airport, I wish we could have used the Disney magical express, but next to that the easiest thing to do was we had to book Mears'. Another thing I liked was the opportunity to "stock your fridge." This service was a very resonable way to grab snacks or drinks from your room. Overall the hotel is close to Epcot and Hollywood studios and only a short shuttle ride to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. Walking distance to the boardwalk and several restaurants. We would stay here again for sure!

We have stayed at a lot of hotels in the Orlando area and this was one of our favorites...good for the whole family!

I got a great deal on Disney's Dolphin Hotel from hotel's.com. While checking in I was told that I was upgraded to a Lake View room. The room had an incredible view with a view of the swan hotel, the lake and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The housekeeping was great and the rooms were comfortable. It was really easy to get to epcot by water taxi. Whenever I wanted to go to any of the other Disney parks I didn't need to wait long for a bus to arrive. The hotel has a lot of pools and there is a good view of illuminations fireworks from the bridge connecting the swan and dolphin hotels.

First of all, this is not a Disney hotel and should not be advertised as such. If you are looking for the flare of a Disney hotel complete with Mickey Mouse decor, look elsewhere. Secondly, the room was not clean when we checked in. Left over food in the refrigerator and large pieces of garbage on the floor. Third, this hotel charges $10.00 a day for self-parking and there is another $10.00 fee charged for two bottles of water, internet service and phone calls combined together. This fee is added whether you use the service/water or not. Finally, the staff was not as friendly as at a Disney hotel. I got a good price through hotels.com, but had I paid full price for this hotel stay, I would have been very disappointed.

Required a 9.00 + parking fee and another $10.00 fee for services whether we used them or not which included two bottles of water which we had to ask for. they were not given to us. These little things irked us. Who goes to a hotel that does not provide free parking?

The bathroom was filty. The floor was filthy w/ gum and other various stains. It looked like a public restroom.

I was awakened to knocking at 6 PM the day I checked in and 8 AM the day I checked out. No would could tell me why housekeeping would be trying to come into my room at 6 PM but it was definitely not expected and it disrupted the much needed rest that I needed and checked into the hotel for.

We checked in at 11:00 pm and used the bathroom at midnight, and the toilet ran all night. We didn't want a repair person in our room in the middle of the night, and it was too late to change rooms as we had unpacked all our things and we were tired. The next morning we requested another room and they accomodated us well with a better room at the same rate. Our advice is to check your room upon arriving so you can be sure it is in good order, because the hotel is getting older and some of the rooms might need a little work. The staff was nice and the hotel public areas are very nice. For the price and location it is still a very good place to stay.
