Extended Stay America Chicago - O'Hare - Des Plaines

We had booked double non smoking room but the lady at the counter said non smoking room was not available!! I showed her the print from hotels.com and she said, hotels.com don't confirm with us while giving you a confirmation. This was a shock.. She tried to convince to accept the smoking room but I denied since we had our six weeks infant with us. Finally, she agreed to give us 2 separate non smoking rooms and promised not to charge for that extra room. The hotel stay started on this bad note :-( Overall, the stay was okay. Hotel is very close to I-90 and 294. Also, very close to the airport if you are planning to spend a night before your air-travel.

Shuttle driver was more interested in his girlfriend than the guests. Room was out-dated, beds were hard and uncomfortable, towels extremely small. Neighborhood is not the greatest so don't walk around after dark. Very noisy neighborhood. Desk clerks don't speak very good English.

I was very please with my stay....although there was a little problem with the commode running alot everything else was very satisfying...the staff all were very friendly, polite and helpful. The gym however was not within walking distance like we were told.

My boyfriend and I stayed here when we came to Chicago for a concert. We didn't have a car, so we had to walk everywhere. It is close to restaurants and a Target, which is very nice. However, when walking, we had to cross in front of some shady looking apartments (3 blocks) at night, though we had no problems. The room was very clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. It has a good size fridge, sink, and stove, which could come in handy. There was no pool, which was a bummer. The hotel also offers a shuttle to the airport and complimentary vouchers for taxi service back from the airport. The only downfalls were no pool, room could stand to be updated just a tad, and the nighttime front desk clerk didn't speak English very well at all (daytime clerk was extrememly nice and helpful though!) Overall, not bad at all for the price and rating!

We stayed at the Extended Stay America which is right next door to the Extended Stay Deluxe (thank god!) We asked for a couple of extra pillows for our room and I had to go downstairs to get them myself. Not that I'm lazy, but I'm used to someone bringing those things to me when I'm in a hotel. We had forgotten our corkscrew and the front desk didn't have one. Thank god the Extended Stay Deluxe had one! Of course, when I asked the front desk of our hotel for one, it seems that they would have given me that information right away. Instead, I tried all kinds of things to try and remove the cork without using a corkscrew. I finally had to give up and I called down to the front desk and asked about whether they thought Deluxe had one and she said, "Yeah, they do." Why she didn't tell me that when I first asked her about a corkscrew is beyond me. Other than that we had a good stay.

Everything is ok, but i asked for non-smoking room, but they have one with smoking and just labeled it as non-smoking. Thats really cheating which made my stay miserable and it made all other facilities as useless one

clean, quiet, good layout. liked the little kitchen. if i was staying for more than a day or two, the kitchen supplies would have been too sparse, but i'd definitely stay there again.

This was a great value for the money. It would have been nice to stay closer to downtown but that wasn't feasible on our budget so we opted to stay close to O'Hare to save some money. We got daily transit passes and rode the Blue Line downtown everyday- it was so easy to take the hotel shuttle (free!) to the airport, hop on the Blue Line and be downtown in about 45 minutes. The room was clean, but nothing special; the bed was very firm but I slept soundly every night since I was wore out from walking around Chicago! As long as you don't mind the trip to downtown (we used the time to plan where to go and how to get there using trains and buses) this hotel is a great choice!

The hotel was very clean. We did not particularly like the blanket given though (it was itchy). The kitchen was outstanding; plates and silverware were provided. It was very spacious. Parking was so available that we got a spot which we could see our vehicle from our room. Our destination was the Rosemont Convention Center, which is claimed to be about 2.5 miles from the hotel, yet it was a bit less than 4.5 miles away. Nevertheless, the location was great; it is near some really good restaurants.

I was working in downtown Chicago. The hotel is only 7 minutes to the train station ($5.00 parking + $2.25 train-one way).Takes 40 minutes to downtown, no need to drive. Within a block and half of the hotel there is a plaza, "Rosemont Plaza" with 10 restaurants and a few stores. Very convenient location. Service and employees were great. Highly recommend it.

I like the kitchen and the utensils they provided. It could have been great if they offer free breakfast too!

Not enough amenities in the room - but ok for one nite

Pleasantly surprised, what kind of a room could you get for such a great price so close to O’Hare. Rooms were clean and quiet. Great deal!

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful and polite. My room was small but comfy and i felt very safe. I just felt a little isolated. I will stay there again.

Great room for the money. Had a kitchenette area and everything seemed pretty clean. I would stay there again. It was located close to the Arena. That's why we were going.

It was definitely 'get what you pay for.' Bare ammenities, no shampoo- but u do get soap. There was a small kitchen area which is nice to have. The air conditioning unit seemed too small for the size room... it froze during the middle of the night and the room wasn't even that cold. Weather was pretty decent, but would hate to have that happen in the middle of the summer. Overall, good value. Pretty clean, nice staff.

While the hotel was relatively inexpensive and very close to the airport, the hard as a rock bed and lumpy pillows made for a terrible night's sleep.

Even though we only stayed one night, we were happy to see a mini kitchen in the room, especially enjoyed having the comfort of a refrige(we like to have bottled water on hand to drink.) The beds were comfortable and the room was very quiet which we were surprised seeing it is so close to O'Hare airport. We did not even hear any noises from the hallway or adjoining rooms. The only thing that the room lacked was a 'hair dyer'.

The hotel was good deal for the money. Ameneties are very limited but I was not expecting a 5 star experience.

Staff unfriendly. Requested early checkin one clerk said I could check in in 30 minutes another said I could not checkin early. Only housekeeping staff at front desk for check out until 7:00 a.m. Bathtub slipery with soap scum. Reserved non-smoking. Room smelled like smoke.

Pretty bare-bones hotel. Double room had 1 cup for water, 2 coffee mugs. No shampoo, no extra roll of TP, no extra blanket for the bed. Not even cream or sugar for coffee. But the hotel is located across a busy street from a very nice park with lake, and many restaurants are a short walk away (no sidewalks part of the way).

Very clean, great room, walking distance to Allstate Arena and good resteraunts. No services that you get in a place like Mariott but good value for your dollar. Would recommend.

I was at this place earlier this year. I stayed a second time, and it has become a pig stye! The dishes were dirty. There was aconstant sewer smell, and the water pressure for the showers and toilets were set to very low. Not to mention the wireless internet that cost $5, was as slow as dial-up! This place used to be nice! What the hell happened!

staff could use some customer service and communication skills improvement. hotel was average and relatively ok. the toaster was broken, microwave was dirty, and the dishes were sketchy. no dish soap was available, I am not certain when they were washed or by whom.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity's to the airport. The room smelled a bit funny but overall it was a decent place considering how little it cost.

nice hotel..but just a long L train ride to the loop

The front desk person claimed they never received confirmation of my reservation from hotels.com. It took 30 minutes to straighten out. She was less than helpful. (I had to call the hotels.com help line myself and ask them to fax the information needed to the hotel). I suspect this is an Extended Stay America problem because she told me the same thing happened twice earlier in the week with two other travel websites. The price was great for the location, but an airport hotel with no wake up calls?

I was out of town to see the WWE at the AllState Arena and this hotel was a convient location. It was in walking distance of resturants, shopping, and the arena. On a personal note the hotel staff were wonderful. One of the ladies was more than willing to take a picture of me. Then to make matters even better, I was rushing the morning that I checked out and I accidently left my rings at the hotel. I called Eric and told him about it. He sent someone to check my room and was able to locate them. The hotel then shipped the rings back to me and I got them today. This is a excellent hotel and I would recommend it to my friends and family. Plus when I come to Chicago again, I will defiantly be staying here.

Dirty!

I booked just one night at this hotel for it's proximity to O'Hare airport. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was friendly. The room was nice and clean. The bed was a little firm for my liking - but otherwise a good little setup. I would love to have seen a shuttle to the airport!!! Overall, great value for the price!

When we checked in, our non-smoking room smelled like smoke. The receptionist gladly gave us a different room and apologized for the smoke. It was nicer than expected and I would definitely go back.
