Chicago O'Hare Garden Hotel - Chicago

Die Lage fuenf geh Minuten von der BLUE Line entfernt ist sehr praktisch, da der Flughafen nur 2 Haltestellen entfernt ist, aber auch die Innenstadt in ca. 30min erreicht werden kann. Leider war das Hotel selbst eher schlecht. Laut beschreibung sollte ein Fruehstueck inklusive sein, jedoch gab es lediglich einen Tisch in der Lobby mit einem Teller Mini Donuts und Kaffee. Das wars. Auch das Personal konnte uns in keinster Weise helfen eine Druckmöglichkeit für die OnlineErworbenen CubsTickets zu finden.

Positiv: Das Hotel war nahe der U-Bahn gelegen, mit der man ca. 1/2 Stunde ins Zentrum braucht. Außerdem spricht der Preis für sich Negativ: Frühstück besteht nur aus Donuts und Kaffee. Weiters lässt die allgemeine Hotel-Sauberkeit ein bisschen zu wünschen übrig - das Zimmer ist aber sauber.

Wir waren im diesem Hotel, weil wir am nächsten Morgen früh am Flughafen sein mussten. Andere Gründe in dieses Hotel zu gehen gäbe es für mich nicht. Dafür war es aber in Ordnung. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gepflegt.

Das Hotel ist in einer ziemlich abgelegenen Ecke von Chicago, die Fahrt in die Stadt dementsprechend lang (ein Auto ist ein Muss). Die Zimmer sind sauber, haben aber die besten Zeiten schon hinter sich. Das Personal ist durchgehend sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist für die "continental breakfast Variante" sehr gut. Dühstück im angrenzenden Restaurant aufgebaut ist, kann man sich bei Bedarf aber auch ein leckeres amerikanisches Frühstück à la carte bestellen.

Alles roch nach diesem starken Reiniger, als ich wieder zu Hause war habe ich erst gemerkt, wie ich und alle meine Sachen den Geruch angenommen haben. Wir haben dieses Hotel als billige Gelegenheit Chicago kennenzulernen gebucht. Aber es ist einfach zu weit weg von downtown, die lange U bahn fahrt ist entnervend. Der Service war allerdings gut. Die Dusche schaltete regelmäßig ganz plötzlich auf kochendheiß, was auch sehr nervig war. Ich würde nicht wieder dorthin gehen.

This hotel was not worth it. Their website says that they renovated in 2007. What did they renovate? Hotel room was a mess. Bed was made up sloppy. Pillows were garbage. Bath/Shower was nasty. Huge wet spot in the floor from who knows what. Non-smoking room smelled like a cigar room. Wouldn't recommend.

This hotel should not be open , the health dept should close this hotel. never never stay at this hotel! your life could be in jepordy!! I want a refund , I was bitten 8 times by bed bugs!!!!

This Hotel was nice for the price. But as my grandmother always said "you get what you pay for". The pool had no water in it, the resterant was closed down and the free breakfast was wet donuts and burnt coffee.

If you need a place to sleep than it does the trick but don't have very high expectations...also make sure everything works in the room before you settle in. I discovered in the middle of the night the air conditioner did not work and the room became uncomfortably warm. Like I said, the place has issues!

Reminded me of a youth hostile on my initial entry. The Staff were friendly. The rooms were clean the hotel showed its age in places. Very convienent to Ohare, the Blue Line and of course the freeways. (How are you not close to freeways?)

This is more of a motel than a hotel. It's a bit ran down, but just fine to stay for a few days not far from the airport. The staff were courteous, shuttle service was ok, albeit not as regular as with the larger hotels. But then, this is not Hilton, or even Hollyday Inn. Wireless internet doesn't reach all the rooms, but works fine in the lobby. Basically, it's a good deal for the price.

Checked out this hotel with their web site- wow - nothing like advertised it was less than 0 stars and my business associate is reporting it to the dept of health for violations and health concerns-

This is a hotel that is down on its heels. But the location, right off the Kennedy Expressway, and the price makes it a cheap stay. Breakfast consist of donuts and coffee but Mac's Diner is located one gas station away from the corner of Higgins and Cumberland. Excellent place for 'diner food'.

Horrible hotel. My room had not been cleaned. I got in the shower, looked up, and the old tenants towels were still hanging over the shower rod. They'd made the bed, yet I pulled it back to find hair covering it. The sheets literally had holes in them and were so thin they were transparent. The floors hadn't been vacuumed with dust and dirt covering it...enough that you could actually see it and run your shoe along it to pick it up!! There was broken glass in the hallway that was never picked up during our stay. Near the ice machine, soda had spilled and had been there long enough that it had collected dust, dirt and bugs. It was never cleaned while we were there. The trash in the common area was overflowing with three trash bags stacked on top of the basket. The paint was peeling, the refrigerator's didn't shut, the glasses in the room weren't fresh, my shampoo was half gone. They "continental" breakfast were donuts that hadn't unthawed yet. The women at the front desk stared at me through the front door for five minutes smoking a cigarette before I actually went outside in my pajamas to ask for a new room. At the end of our stay I asked for managment and there was no one to speak to. I asked for a comment card and they didn't have any. I asked for a number for corporate and they told me to look it up.

The hotel is frankly run down and in need of repair and updates. It took three rooms to finally get one that did not have a smoke odor or other type of odor. Beds very spongy and somewhat uncomfortable. Wireless only available in lobby - very inconvenient. Maid service is inconsistent. I had stayed there before because of proximity to O'Hare and business partner, so figured I would try it again due to cheap rate. However, I will pay more next time to stay at nicer hotels that are just down the road.

The room was really cheap. I had read the reviews and prepared myself. I brought my own towels and washed up because I didn't want to use their towels or shower. It was worth the money.

Other years, I varied from one hotel to another, trying to find the best one. I have found it with this one. Since I go to Chicago every August to attend a show at the Stephen Convention Center, this is the place I will be staying every year. Customer service was friendly and helpful and room service was great. There are restaurants nearby within walking distance and less than 15 minutes from O'Hare airport. I highly recommend this place if you're thinking about coming here.

Hallways showed wallpaper scuffed and torn, room carpet dirty and torn, odor in room.

When I make de reservations, I think that hotel rooms it'll be small but not and them twoo quen size beds in each room ,and the people in the loby was polite and game good atention.

The service was horrible, we were given the wrong room, when trying to open the room the man inside growled at us. Everything was dirty and messy. The bathtub did not have a plug in it. Stains on the carpet and walls. We checked in for two hours and had to check out and find a hotel last minute (quite expensive switch to find one that was open). and of course our money was not refunded.

Okay, this hotel was not nearly as bad as most everyone elses' reviews say it is. That being said, it isn't a super hotel either. It's just a small hotel, very conveniently located to the airport and the Chicago blue-line (for those wishing to head into the downtown area and live it up a little during their stay). The beds were perfectly comfortable, there were no bed bugs as has been said, the showers were very clean. The only criticisms I can come up with is yes, the shower pressure is a little spotty and they were skimpy on the toiletry supplies in the bathroom but apart from that it's about what you'd expect from a hotel of this price. It's nothing special, but nothing horrible either.

The hotel needs to clean up rooms after the previous occupant has left. My bath tub was very dirty and there were several items left in the room by the previous occupant. The only place that is really clean is the lobby. In other rooms there are stains everywhere on the carpet. I do not mind an old carpet put I think it can be cleaned appropriately.

Inexpensive hotel close to train station. Good room for the price!

The hotel appears that it was once very well maintained, but now it seems as if it's just being allowed to slowly deteriorate. If you are a bunch of guys who aren't picky and looking for a cheap place close to the city, this place is for you, all else try one of the well known chains.

This hotel was chosen by me for the convenience factor ONLY.....and im glad thats where my expectations ended !!. The hotel is run down and needs major...MAJOR overhauling. If your looking to just stay overnight for a very cheap price, its ok Anything else just spend a bit more and stay at the Marriot or so ....you will thank yourself later. The hotel smells, of some sort of disinfectant , the ac filter was caked with dust and didnt work, however they attended to it right away. The wall paper is peeling allover which makes you wonder whats hiding behind it. The bathtub was sticky with red stains at the drain. There are no stationaries, none whatsoever. However the service was prompt and that was the only consolling factor apart from the very cheap price. Overall if your single and need a night to sleep and get out early the next day this hotel is ok anything esle...please look elsewhere.

Considering how expensive other hotels in the area are -- this one will meet your needs for a good price. The metro is convenient and the airport is near by.

Everyone was very friendly at the front desk and very helpful. The shuttle service was also wonderful. Keep up the good work! I would stay here again in the future!

I have stayed at the Garden Hotel twice and the quality has really gone down hill. The hotel needs to be cleaned from ceiling to carpets. Paint in hallways and rooms is chipping (and left on the carpet). The carpets are brown and black from use. The price is good but stay somewhere else if you want a clean, comfortable room.

Took 1 hour to get picked up at ORD. The rooms have been upgraded but the hallways and the rest of the hotel needs upgraded. No water in pool and the restaurant was closed.

If you just need a cheap place to sleep that is close to the airport and the train then this is OK. Pool not filled in July?? Internet only worked in lobby. 'Free breakfast' = bad coffee and hostess donuts--nothing for children. Restaurant closed. So it's a good deal if you just need a place to sleep where they don't charge you to park your car, but if you need amenities look elsewhere.

the overnight staff was rude and the amenities need to be updated there is some that are no longer offered. the room wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been there was stuff in the drawers from previous people, a mess under the bed, and the blanket had burns on it. over all it's pretty much comparable to a cheap motel with a decent location.

The hotel is in poor condition, there is no microwave or refrigerator in any rooms Orin the hotel at all! There is not even a coffee pot on the room, what hotel doesn't have that in a room? Wifi only works in lobby......seriously that's pathetic! Breakfast in lobby is coffee and donuts...woohoo! If you a very cheap hotel with absolutely no ammenities than this is for you.

THE front desk is not good and the environment inside the hotel is depressing. The breakfast is horrible. The only good thing is that it's close to the airport and has shuttle to the terminals.
