Zimmer: Möbel abgewohnt, Betten sauber und bequem. Obwohl wir ein Nichtraucherzimmer hatten, roch es nach altem Rauch und undefinierbaren. Da die Fenster nicht zu öffnen waren, konnten wir uns nur durch die Klimaanlage ein wenig Luftaustausch verschaffen, was aber nicht reichte. Der Service war sehr freundlich und das Hotel in guter Lage mit naher U-Bahnanbindung.

Zimmer zweckmässig eingerichtet. rel. gross für London. Leider war das Zimmer nicht sauber. wurde aber sofort nach Reklamation gereinigt. Sehr gutes Asiatisches Restaurant im Hotel.

Für ein 4 Sterne Hotel mehr erwartet! Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Die Ausstattung des Zimmers war alt und abgenutzt. Die Kaffemaschine aus der Beschreibung war ein Wasserkocher mit Pulverkaffee. Pluspunkt ist die zentralle Lage und die Nähe zur U-Bahn.

von außen sieht das Hotel wirklich alt aus. Wenn man dann aber die wirklich edle Lobby kommt, wird man deutlich optimistischer, was den Aufenthalt angeht. Die Zimmer waren sehr schön. Auf suberkeit wurde von den Servicekräftenh nicht so geachtet. Wir hatten schon von Beginn an einen komischen roten Fleck im Bett und der war auch bei Abreise noch. Die Lage des Hotels ist abgesehen davon, dass eine Ubahnlienie direkt daran vorbeiführt sehr gut. Imk edlen Kennsington, 50 Meter von der Ubahnstation und Einkaufsstraße ( Kennsington High Street) entfernt.

Freundlicher Empfang, gute Bar, etwas laute Musik in der Bar, ansonsten alles ok

the copthorne is a great bargain for the price...i stayed previously at a B& B for nearly the same price n it sucked. i have stayed at the Copthorne earlier and it was fantastic then too and now, it made my holiday ideal...excellent service!!! very central!!! will always stay there...

Perfectly OK hotel. The only thing I missed was the bathrobe and slippers.

The Copthorne Tara is a short walk from the High Street Kensington subway station. The main street in the neighborhood is filled with shops during the day, but apart from that much of the immediate neighborhood is heavily residential and rather dull at night. The bathroom seemed a bit old but was quite serviceable. The room itself was lovely -- a good-size bed, and plenty of room to maneuver. The Internet service downstairs, while a little expensive, was not unreasonable. The only problem we had was that we failed to receive one of our three requested wake-up calls. This place is a great bargain, but be prepared to venture far if you want to head out for a late-night drink.

It was my first time visiting london and this hotel definitely made it easy to enjoy it. Location was in the upscale kensington area and close to the tubes. The hotel was a great price and would recommend to others. I wouldn't mind staying here again on a repeat visit. London is awesome.

The place looked pretty nice from the description, photos, and reviews, but I know how much of a crapshoot it can be to find a good hotel in London (especially by the standards of someone from the U.S.). I mainly picked this hotel based on its location in the posh and convenient South Kensington, and didn't care much whether the hotel or room would be nice. Honestly, everything was great from start to finish. The staff were friendly, let us check in early, and held our bags after we checked out so we could run around town a bit before heading to the airport. The room was spotless, and the beds, while only twin size, were very comfortable. There were a number of dining and drinking options right in the hotel, which would accommodate any traveler (sit-down meal, cafe food on the go, etc.). It also conveniently had a money exchange and an ATM in the lobby. It was only a few minutes walk to the tube station and buses that could get you pretty much anywhere in central London. I will stay here again!

Though I had heard that the hotel rooms in London are small, we were satisfied with the size of the room at this hotel.The location is very convenient as it is very close to the tube, the breakfast though expensive was good.

I was all over Europe this summer, and this was the final hotel in which I stayed. It was by far the nicest, best location, and roomiest (the bedroom was quite large considering how small european hotels tend to be). Right near the tube, grocery stores, Boots, etc. Air conditioning, clean bathroom, tv, etc.

The Copthorne Tara is a very large full-service hotel just a block off of Kensington High Street and the Kensington High Street Underground Station. The rooms were clean and good-sized for British hotels and the staff was helpful and friendly. There were many restaurants within a two block walk and lots of shops as well. The area around the hotel is a nice neighborhood in which to stroll. It is both safe and attractive. I would definitely stay there again if I were to return to London.

Convenient to Hyde Park and Royal College of Art (15 minute walk). Hard to find from the Underground - Had to take a taxi the first night, but a nice neighborhood.

We stayed in the hotel during a sightseeing trip to London. It's very convenient to the circle line tube and was a great base for exploring London. We only slept and showered in the hotel so can't really comment on the services. The room was spotless, though old and a little dated. It was very stuffy at night in the room.

I was very pleased with the hotel. It was clean, the staff was very helpful and the location was perfect.

everything about this hotel was great - but the room was old inside and only average. great location - lobby and service.

Excellent location, the tuve, cafes, shopping and restaurants were about 3 blocks away. Weather was really rainy-its London-so the hotel room was humid but dried out fast. Water pressure in the shower was great. The hotel is frequented by Singapore Airlines crew-which is always the sign of good hotel.Staff was friendly food in the restaurant(s) was good but portions were small. I booked the hotel when the dollar was at its 2009 high against the pound so it was an excellent deal!

The Copthorpe Tara was excellent value for money. Our room was bright and comfortable and above average size for a London hotel. After this visit it has become our first choice hotel in London.

I enjoyed my stay at this nice hotel. I especially loved the complimentary breakfast/drinks. The staff was very polite and they even let me check on as soon as I arrived (1130am and can't thank you enough for that). Will book again when I return in the fall.

My wife and I were very pleased with the quality of the hotel, based on the low room rate we paid. The location was great, with easy access to the subway system. The room was very large by most European standards, the hotel facilities (Internet, restaurants) were good, and the staff was accommodating. The only shortcomings were intermittent noises from the cooling system--even when it was off--a mattress which could have been a bit more comfortable, and a shower head that lacked a delay mechanism to prevent getting one's hair wet when the water was shifted from the tub to the shower. Overall, I would recommend the Tara hotel to fellow guests.

I recommend this hotel for several reasons. first, It location is very good. It is adjacent to Kensington hing street tube station. second, there are not many travelers over there even vacation season. most of hotel workers have a good manner. If you are considering book a hotel, book right now. :)

Could not fault anything about the hotel. Had a nice meal in the restaurant. Found the location to be very convenient and pleasant.

has no pool, was supposed to free for guests to be using pool at the hilton south kensington , copthorne tara hotel staff told us it would be pounds ten per day very noisy rooms facing the back of the hotel due to underground passing by,

Great location. Just few minutes walk from the Tube. Walking distance from Hyde Park. Just great to be able to walk out of your hotel and experience London. Bar was great. Could sit outside as it was great weather. Drinks were ok prices. Food was nice. Rooms were a bit outdated, but clean. Overall a great stay!

We stayed at the Copthorne Tara Hotel our trip was to visit Wimbledon the hotel was brilliant good location for the underground and direct tube to Wimbledon. We really enjoyed our stay and would definetly return to this hotel . July 2nd 2009

I stayed here because I got a reasonably good price for a club room on one of the top floors. I was in London to watch tennis at Wimbledon. I was very pleased with the room. I guess I lucked out and got a room on the opposite side from the train station. But I suspect train noise would not have been a problem in any case because I was on the 12th floor. A few of the Wimbledon players stayed at this hotel, although, I'm sure, none of the top-ranked names. The Internet in the room was nice. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. When I didn't have the right kind of electrical adapter to plug my three-prong American laptop into the British electrical outlet, the girl at the desk knew exactly how to solve the problem. There were several good restaurants in the neighborhood and the High Street Kensington tube station was about a 5 minute walk away. There is a McDonald's not far, which opens at 5 a.m. and gave me a cheap early breakfast so I could get to the Wimbledon grounds early. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again if I could get the price.

The room was good. The location was close to underground (tube). The only issue we had was the maid for the first 2 nights - didn't replace the 2nd set of towels and replaced the liquid body soap with shampoo. We had to ask for the 2nd set of towels on the 3rd night. The fourth night we were there (on Saturday), they had a different maid and did everything correctly. All in all, we do recommend the hotel even with the maid issue.

Nice hotel, clean, nice restaurants and bar. The cafe is great for snack or breakfast/lunch to go. The subway is just a few blocks away. Not close to Heathrow, expensive cab ride! Overall though I would recommend this hotel.

We found the hotel very good,well located for public transport and all staff extremely helpful. Only downside,we thought breakfast was poor and overpriced. However we would use again.

This is a very nice hotel just off Kensington High Street and the High Street Kensington underground location. It is a very convenient location just two stops on the underground from paddington. We went to see Sister Act in the pallidium which was easy to get to by underground. The downside to this hotel is that at the back is High Street Kensington tube station with trains coming and going all the time but this did not cause us too much problems and we had a good nights sleep. The staff were very nice and professional and the hotel seemed really busy. I would recommend this hotel for a weekend stay as me and my partner really enjoyed it.

The hotel was everything we needed for a one night stay after the Theatre. Having experienced other Hotels charging the same price this was a palace in comparison. We could not fault it and if a similar price is available for future trips will certainly re-book.

Walking distance from Kensington High Street and tube station. A comfirtable and clean room, not too small. The wi-fi worked well and was less overpriced than in most hotels. Taxis always available. I would stay again, especially at this price.

We stayed in a non-smoking standard double room on the 7th floor. It was spacious although the bathroom was on the small side. General decor was good but needed a little updating. Room was very clean. Breakfast was not included but the hotel gave us discount vouchers which reduced the price from £16.00 to £10.00 per person. We had pre-theatre set menu @ £10.00 each for two courses in the Buggis oriental restaurant. Service was excellent and the food very good. Also got 20% off the drinks bill. Reception staff very courteous and helpful. Overall very good value for money and would stay at the Tara Copthorne again.

We've just come back from the Chelsea Flower show. Despite this being a four star hotel, this is apparent in the dining and common areas, but not in the rooms which are in need of a refurb. We made 2 phone calls, which would have cost £10 on our mobile, but were charged £250 for them. More than 2 nights stay there. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow, the last night we had to wait 3/4 hour for a glass of water. The food is lovely though. Restaurant is understaffed and the phone charges are extortionate, a real rip off at almost £5 per minute.

Price was excellent for what it was, a small but comfortable room. Nothing special but no complaints at all. Bathroom and room were clean and in good condition. Very impressed for the price.

Large hotel, comfortable yet averagly decorated room. Noce location. Overall worth a stay but nothing spectacular.

I have stayed in Copthorne Tara twice before and this time I thought it was looking a little worse for wear. They also skimped on towels and toileteries!. To my mind NOT a 4**** star hotel.!

I’ve stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions, and would go back again. The hotel is in a good location and has an adequate fitness room, excellent amenities in the lobby and a helpful staff. The pub is lively and there a couple of good restaurants nearby. Ambient noise from outside can be bothersome, but always quiets down by the time I go to bed. I’ve stayed at more expensive hotels in London that can’t offer all of these things, which is why I come back.

Copthorn Tara is a good value in a good location. 1 block from Underground. Very clean upscale neighborhood. Rooms are room, clean and updated. First night room M17 was a disaster. Broken shower and sink, and dirty, but they moved us into a good room that was adequate, but should have comped the first night due to poor room conditions.

This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. I stayed for honeymoon and staff was incredible. They upgraded my room and anytime I need something they were there with a good attitude. Really good location and neighborhood. Without any doubt, I will stay in this hotel again. I recommended to anybody traveling to London and the price is unbeatable.

In short we had a most enjoyable stay. The hotel was excellent and the location was ideal with easy access to the underground and buses. I am sure we will stay there again.
