Hotel ist in einem gutem Zustand aber Service Personal wie z.B. der Concierge sind nicht immer aufzufinden und nicht sehr hilfreich. Ausserdem ist der Fitnessraum fast ueberall im Hotel falsch ausgeschildert. In einem Aufzug steht er sei im 23. Stock in der Eingangshalle steht 25. Stock er ist aber im 4. Stock. Das Zimmer war klein aber sehr schoen mit grossem Flachbildschirm Fernseher

Das Hotel war sehr schön, central in Chigago. Leider war das Zimmer bei Ankunft, halb fünf abends, noch nicht fertig und es gab keine Parkplätze, um das Auto kostenlos auszupacken. Das Parkhaus nebenan ist "mit großem Abstand" das teuerste in ganz Chicago: zwanzig Dollar für dreißig min. WAHNSINN!!!

Hotel was in a great location and nice inside. Room was quite cramped with 2 double beds and very little drawer space or hanging room for clothes. Very expensive to park car and car was returned to us with scratches on the roof.

The price is great for a "LUXURY" hotel on Michigan Ave. I was close to all the luxury high-end shops/boutiques, restaurants, nightlife, and other great Chicago sites. The rooms were rather small but VERY clean. Front desk was slow and I was charged a valet fee even though I didn't have a car. When asked to have the charged removed and copy of updated balance... Front desk personnel said, "Well, we don't give out updated bills." WHAT?? For a 4 start hotel, customer service is not their main priority.

Great location right on the magnificent mile/shopping as promised. However, the bar and food was extremely expensive (overpriced we thought). Also, to rent a movie cost the same amount as if you were to buy one in the store. It was a great stay because it was downtown, but, they are not over accommodating for the guests on our opinion. The hotel was well kept and looked beautiful and the rooms were clean. I was bummed there was no bath tub and only a standing shower.

The room was the size of a shoe box . All the rooms I have booked with hotels.com have all been small. The room was a little dirty I saw someone elses hair on the bathroom floor. GROSS. I didn't complain though it was my husbands birthday so I didn't want to ruin it. Would I stay there again ?? I think so!

This was the perfect hotel for a trip to Chicago, clean, comfortable and an excellent price. It was close to all the shops, near the Hancock tower and navy pier and situated in a great area. Hotel was also close to a lot of good restaurants.

The location was great, the rooms were very clean but the elevators were awful! We actually had to run down 6 floors in order to make the wedding were going to on time - we waited for more than 15 mins for the elevator. Everytime we left or came back, it was a minimum of 5 mins, more like 10 for an elevator. If you stay there, make sure you allow extra time.

We found this hotel on hotels.com for a spur-of-the moment trip to Chicago. We found a place on the Magnificent Mile for a very good rate, so we decided to go for it. Normally we can't afford a decent hotel within the city, but I guess we got lucky. Probably the most difficult thing about this hotel is getting there, since it is in the middle of a very busy street, and the entrance to the hotel is actually on a one-way side street. Once you hand off your keys to the valet, though, it gets much better. The staff was very helpful. After some slight mishaps with our luggage, we were treated to breakfast the next morning. The room was very clean and well-kept. Perhaps a bit small, but in the city, that's to be expected. The only real problem I had with the place was the parking. It's kind of expensive to keep your car there for the night, and when you are requesting your car back for any reason (checking out, going to the aquarium, etc), be ready to wait about twenty minutes for it to pull up to the hotel. Luckily, you are in walking range of some really great restaurants and shopping. They totally revamped the hotel, and although from the outside it looks like something from the 1920's, the interior is very swank and modern. All in all, I would come again, and I recommend this hotel as long as you're not traveling with young kids.

We have stayed here several times now for weekend get-a-ways from the north side. The rooms are always clean and the beds are sooo comfortable. The price is great for a luxury hotel on Michigan Ave. We take public transportation to the hotel so we never take our car. The only dowside is the hotel bar. However, there are so many bars ans restaurants within walking distance or a short cab ride it really does not make a difference. Will always go back for an escape from everyday life.

This was the second time I stayed at the Allerton. This time I was very disappointed by the room. I did not realize I had reserved a "petite" room. I reserved a room with a queen bed but that was all that fit in the room. I could not even open the the closet door because the bed was up against it. The full length mirror was on the inside of the closet so you literally had to squeeze into the closet to see yourself. The bathroom was small (no place to put your toiletries) but clean. Several times I wacked my legs against the bed and the bench that was right inside the door. When the bellman brought the luggage he didn't even know what to do with it - two people in the room is TOO many. I attempted to talk to the front desk and they did not offer any options to upgrade and when I told them I was unsatisfied and would be stating so on hotels.com - he shugged and said there was nothing he could do. All that said, the location is great.

If it's only for one person it's fine. the room is really small and it kind of seems like they spent all of their money on the entrance and lobby, and not enough on the rooms. Also, there was no coffee pot which was a big bummer to me.

I stayed at the Allerton because I like staying at old hotels with some history. Sometimes older buildings show some wear and tear (which is to be expected), but not this place. I was honestly surprised by how clean and well maintained everything was. All new furnishings, etc. I believe the entire hotel was redone about a year ago. Kudos to the contractor. Top notch. Obviously the location is great, but I know my way around Chicago enough that it wasn't a big factor in my stay. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend.

We had a small but lovely room. We made use of the free wireless internet in the hotel lobby. The hotel is in a fantastic location. Overall the Allerton was a great experience.

Hotel is in a great location on North Michigan. We walked to many shops around and a red line station within walking distance. The customer service was fantastic. Our reservation included complimentary continental breakfast. The hotel has a restaurant where the breakfast was served. A little confusing figuring out those details, but food was great. The room a bit small, but we were expecting that. The morning we checked out, the restaurant was 30 minutes late opening...we waited 20 minutes for it to open. Only complaint we have...and we got a free upgraded breakfast for our wait.

The building is historic and beautiful, but I was less than pleased with the night-time crew at the Allerton. When we checked in the reception area was empty, yet the two people working the night shift barely acknowledged our presence when we arrived at the desk. On another occassion, my boyfriend and I were bringing a bottle of wine up to our room and asked the gentleman working the front desk if he had a wine opener. Without even bothering to search he said they did not, even though a lounge bar sits only feet away from reception! Reluctantly he said that he would look and send someone up if they found one. When someone did arrive, to our amazement he brought a plastic Allerton Hotel-branded corkscrew--we could only laugh because obviously the hotel had boxes and boxes of these, but for some reason the man who helped us at the reception acted as if there were no wine openers available! Overall, we were very disappointed with the service from the night-time crew-- any assistance was always dispensed with a sense of reluctance. This was especially puzzling to us since the daytime crew was ever-cheerful and courteous. I recommend that whoever manages this hotel re-train or re-think the staff working at night. Their attitude was very off-putting, especially since the Allerton is not exactly a budget hotel, and almost made us regret our decision to stay there. Another strike against the Allerton was that they did not replace our toiletries once during our four-night stay, even when we were down to drops in the soap and shampoo bottles. Finally, there were no dressers in our room. My boyfriend let me store my clothes in his shallow-drawered nightstand and was forced to keep his clothes in his suitcase. I don't want to give the impression that all was negative however...The rooms were very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. I want to recommend the hotel because of its historic value, but unfortunately my best advice to travelers would be to search out other hot

The room we thought we were getting was very small. It was definitly not for two people to stay comfortably. We also reserved a two bed - room and received a one full size bed. The desk clerk was very firm and blunt with her comment that we would not be able to change to another room even though our reservation was not for one full size bed that we barely had room to sleep in. Over priced.

My wife shopped while I attended a meeting at Northwestern. This location was perfect. Close to dinning and public parking. The room was small, which made walking around the foot of the bed difficult; but was clean and atractive. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Allerton for three nights. Each night, we were able to hear every time a neighboring room's toilet flushed. We put our room service tray in the hall at around 9 am one morning and it was still there at 5pm that evening. Oh, and we're still waiting to have charges taken off our credit card that should not be there. That is always fun too. It is a convenient hotel to some major sights and sounds. It's not in the league of the hotels it is priced against.

Friendly staff, clean room, and very close to all that we were doing in Chicago. For those that need to have appointments at Northwestern hospital, it is only a block away and only a block from Michigan Ave. Wish the bathroom had a counter to put toiletries on though. Otherwise very comfortable and roomy.

Great location, very comfortable bed. Room service was very late one morning so had to cancel order; was on time the next morning, but its quite expensive so maybe its better that way! Stayed at the hotel while taking the Illinois Bar Examination and it was a perfect place--quiet, desk in the room, easy check in/out.

When I arrived at 7 pm and after a long flight, no room size ( KINGSIZE) that I already paid for was available . So I only had the choice to wait or take standard room. They promised a refund of 35 USD per day. I still wait for this refund ? Poor service !

The hotel was in the perfect location. Walking distance to everything we needed. The room was clean and the A.C. was wonderful. Very impressed with valet. We were able to keep our car there even after we checked out of the hotel.
