Hollywood heights hotel is a good location for travelling around the main attractions in L.A. city.Just a walking distance to the main street of Hoolywood.And there's the metro station,and few bus route stop. But,there's a strange smell in the hotel room as we stay in 2 different rooms. The drink machine in each floor always out of order,it's not that convenient for us. Check-in and check-out always stand in a queue as there's only 2 staff in the counter. Overall,the price is reasonable,but we think that we just wont get back to this hotel.

quite impressed with the standard of this hotel. rooms were very comfortable and very clean. only 5 mins from all the action. concierge wasn't very helpful other than that hotel was of quite a high standard!

This hotel is located very close to the hollywood bowl, so if you are going to see a concert at the bowl this is a great hotel to stay at. It is also located very close to hollywood giving this hotel double the benefits as far as location. The only thing is the hotel employee at the desk answered a question which he clearly did not know the answer to. Question: Do they have a restaurant inside the hollywood bowl? Answer: No. The correct answer is yes they do. It is expensive,but they do. Anyway, nothing that would deter me from staying there again, and the staff is very nice. They also have a nice looking pool area, and bar area (which is a great place to hangout after the concert and watch all the people walk by), a restaurant (which does not have the best selection, but is nice), so I recommend this hotel.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely pool area. Comfy towels. Good deal for the money.

It was a great hotel to stay at if you are attending the Hollywood Bowl. Great breakfast the next morning and the bartender makes really good drinks.

A really nice hotel at a good price, especially for LA.

The lobby area seems to have been updated, however the hallways looked very old fashion painted in white with burgundy carpet. It gave me a feeling of being in a very cheap motel... and a creepy feeling of being watch by someone. I got a handicapped room because they said there were no more rooms left. The room was very spacious however the a/c wasn't working properly. There was an old juice bottle gone bad inside one of the drawers. I only spent 2 nights there and somehow I woke up with a bad eye allergy.

The staff was so helpful and the hotel was near everything! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone!

Restaurant/Bar were under construction which was rather a downfall. Also, the front desk didn't have a wine cork & weren't willing to unlock the restaurant to get one for us. \

Double charged me for my last night. Im still in the process of recieveing my refund which they will not give me. Thankfully hotels.com is reimbusring me. Dont stay here.... if anything, the holiday day right next door looks sweet.

That was my turn off when I got to the place. Other than that the hotel was quaint. Nothing extraordinary.

hotel is not too shabby. just needs some updating with the furnishing in the rooms. great location i could walk to the walk of fame in 10 mins or less. universal studios is only one bus stop away if you take the MTA. i would go back and stay there again if i was in the hollywood area.

I live in LA and recently had my parents from the Midwest come to visit. I needed a place that was affordable, close to my 'hood and most importantly, would not look at or treat them with that Hollywood indifference that us long-time residents have formed a callous to. Found it! I walked in to help get the parents checked in and make sure they would not be received with any attitude. The staff (Gilbert and crew) were welcoming the moment we stepped through the door. The room my parents were set up with was in the back, facing the hill (recommended since Highland can get pretty busy) with a view of the pool. Clean, cool, quiet and Mom had her coffee maker. There was construction going on in the restaurant area but the boys started their sawing at a respectable 10am. Yes there is a parking lot that is extra $$, but the valet were kind to let me pull in and wait for folks w/o charge. Also, I did get this room with a hotels.com discount special they had running otherwise I think this room would be out of my price range so that helped. With Hollywood and Highland a couple blocks South, I highly recommend this place.

My parents stayed here when they visited me in Los Angeles. For how much we payed, I was happy with the stay. There was only one disappointment: I accidentally left my jacket in the room after we checked out and when I came back for it they said they couldn't find it. Kinda sucks cause I loved the jacket.

Hotel is nice, location in Hollywood is great-my boyfriend and I were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go to. Only downside, parking is $20/day! And restaurant is under construction. Overall stay was good. Would stay there again.

Walls are thin, especially with our room facing the busy street. Restaurant quality was very poor, with high prices, but new one being built. Hopefully it will be better. Staff service was excellent. Very willing to help with whatever we needed.

The location was great! We were able to walk to the Chinese Theatres and the mall. That was perfect. The staff was very helpful and they were always smiling

The Hollywood Heights Hotel is an older property that has recently been renovated. In fact, the restaurant is in a temporary location because the original restaurant area is undergoing construction. The staff, especially the conciege, was friendly and accommodating. We requested an additional robe because our room had only one. Although only one is generally supplied, we found an additional one when we returned after our request. The linens are very nice. Although the hotel is located on a busy street just down the hill from the Hollywood Bowl, our rear facing room was quiet. We enjoyed the location within walking distance of Hollywood Blvd., but away from its noise and distractions. Our only complaint was the size of the bathroom. It's very small with a single sink.

All and all - its a small boutique hotel - renovated and upgraded from what it originally was. Approximately 3-4 blocks up from Hollywood Blvd. and 5-6 blocks up from Sunset Blvd. Great parking arrangements, great walking arrangements, little stores across the street for eating. Friendly staff! Outstanding Bed - Serta Perfect Sleeper with Big Down Comforter. Exceeded my expectations especially for the price and location.

The hotel is quite small. Check-in was pleasant and quick. It is about 5 mins walk from Hollywood Blvd, and chinese theatre, kodak theatre etc etc which is good. We were awaken practically every morning to the sound of drilling and hammering as there was renovations going on, which was pretty annoying at times. We were not told of this at check-in. The room was quite cold most of the time we were in there. There was a heater on the wall, when we switched it on, even on the lowest setting it was quite loud, and made it quite disruptive while watching TV. The remote control would not work most of the time, which was very annoying. It worked every so often, but mainly we had to get up to the TV to change the channels. We rang the concierge desk in the morning to see could they organise a taxi for us, but we got bored after about 2 mins and no answer and hung up the phone. In the evenings the concierge was at the front desk and each time we passed asked us if there was anything he could do, just ring him! Overall, the hotel was nice, it was close to most things, I would recommend it to others.

We ran into a problem with our next door neighbors being loud and the hotel immediately accommodated us and moved us to another room which was silent. The staff was helpful, the location was perfect for us (Central Hollywood) and we had a good time.

I had a great stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was nice, comfortable and quiet. There is a restaurant and bar downstairs, as well as an outdoor pool. There were a few things I would have appreciated with my stay that weren't included in my room rate. For one, parking is ridiculous, $20/day. I felt with the price of the room, parking really should be included. Also, I felt the hotel should have provided a continental breakfast minimal. Their restaurant is only open for lunch and dinner, so you are forced to leave the hotel in the morning. Aside from these two negs, I really enjoyed my stay. My bed was comfortable. The price was in par with the surrounding hotels. And location was everything for me. A short walk to the Chinese Theater and minutes from everything downtown. FYI there is a best western right next door, and the magic castle hotel is around the corner. Both would be comparable options in my opinion.

Good quality for the money. Close to Hollywood attractions.

For the price of this room and it's location, it is definitely worth staying out. It's right down the street from Hollywood and Highland. My boyfriend and I stayed there for his birthday weekend and were even able to walk from the hotel to all the entertainment. The room was average, but it was perfect for what we needed it for. Our room faced the street so there was some traffic noise, but once we put the fan on, you couldn't hear anything outside.

For the money, great location, CLEAN, and hostpitable.

The location of the hotel was the best part of the whole experience. It's location is perfect. I was able to walk to the Kodak theater and other great Hollywood attractions. The room was a bit dingy, and needs to be updated. I think with this hotel, you are paying for the location and not the beautiful room. The staff was very friendly. Parking was not free but that's expected in Hollywood. My favorite part about this hotel would have to be that you could see the famous "Hollywood Sign"

Stayed here in Oct 08 for 5 nights. Very good hotel, reasonable rates and room was excellent. Very clean and tidy and really all you need. Restaurant and bar were ok (if perhaps a littler under used) but the best thing about the hotel was its location. Literally 2 mins walk from Hollywood & Highland shpooing centre and Hollywood Boulevard. Maybe 5 more mins to Sunset Boulevard. Also everywhere else was easily accessible from the Hollywood Metro station, which again was a maximum 5 minute walk. (Universal studios one step further on). Staff at the hotel were also very polite and everything you asked them to do was done first time everytime. I would DEFINTLY stay in this hotel if I went to Hollywood again.

My wife and I stayed here b/c it was close to a few places we were headed in H-wood. Service was solid. Rooms were clean. Nothing special from the outside, and it's like a college dorm that they spruced up with a few nouveau features, but the price was right and the location works.

Every single worker at that hotel was nice and courteous. From the guy that helped us park the guy to the people at the cage downstairs.

Stayed for 3 nights in this hotel, which is situated perfectly for first-time visitors to LA. A mere stroll from the Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre, Star-Line coach tour departure points and shops in Hollywood. Right across the road there's a Starbucks, Grocery Store and 24 hr Subway if you don't want to spend your dollars on the hotels food/breakfasts. The hotel is a very short (LA-wise!) drive to Universal studios, Griffin Park, Melrose and LA Ink on La Brae! It is also very easy to find from the freeway which is a blessing. The room was very clean, decor slightly bland and just a little hot, but that was only due to being next door to the laundry room and there's always air-con. Otherwise very comfortable and at a fantastic price, although watch out for 20 dollars a day parking charge, but then this is normal for LA. There is a cute hot-tub and bathing area outside and a small gym as well. I recommend that if you are visiting LA and departing from LAX, that you try to return home on a weekend. All in all the hotel is quite stylish and I very much recommend a stay here, particularly if you are on a budget, you will not get a better price for this standard in this location.

Hollywood Heights was nice, simple and convenient given the proximity for me to family members' homes. However, it just missed the "Upscale boutique" hotel concept it is attempting. The beds were luxurious with nice linens and pillows and there was a flat screen tv and nice amenities. However, it was somewhat stark, had no chair other than the desk chair, and clearly exhibited it's Holiday Inn origin in room and bathroom size as well as layout and HVAC. Valet parking is not necessary most of the time because valet and self-parking are in the same area. The restaurant was quite good, if somewhat pricey. If you go into it with the understanding that it was a mid-priced chain hotel prior to the retrofit, you will not be disappointed.

I was very pleased with the hotel. Very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful and always available. They arranged transportation whenever I needed it and always asked did I need anything as soon as I walked through the door. What made the service even better was that they were personable and they called me by name as if I was a longtime visitor. This was only my first time! They even took time to ask about my day. And not just the front desk, the luggage handlers, maintenance and even the kitchen staff. The food was great there as well. Room service was very quick. Not like other hotels that take hours. I was very pleased and would definitely stay there again.
