Stratford Hotel, a C-Two Hotel - San Francisco

Preis Leistung exellent, Hotel zwar nicht in neuestem Zustand aber sauber und freundliche Atmosphäre kombiniert mit bester City Lage. Fazit absolut empfehlenswert....

Die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr sehr klein. Öffnet man die Tür, steht man praktisch mit einem Fuß im Bett. Stolperfallen, falls man Koffer dabei hat. Wir hatten einen "wunderschönen" Ausblick auf eine Steinmauer des angrenzenden Gebäudes, wodurch das Zimmer auch tagsüber sehr sehr dunkel war. Das Badezimmer war an sich ganz süß und sauber, allerdings wurden die schmutzigen Handtücher wieder gefaltet und aufgehängt, statt sie zu wechseln. Die kostenlosen Pflegemittel waren hochwertig und rochen gut! :) Auch das Frühstück wurde vorzeitig weggeräumt und die Frühstücksfrau sehr unfreundlich. Das Empfangspersonal war hingegen sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem war trotz der oben genannten Einschränkungen die Lage exzellent.

Zimmer sind recht klein und hellhoerig Frühstück einfach, aber ok Hotel liegt central und direkt an einer Cablecar Station Für nen Kurzurlaub zu empfehlen

Hotel ist sauber und für die zentrale Lage dennoch ruhig. Frühstück ist für amerikanische Verhältnisse o.k. Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht, bei Problemen weiterzuhelfen.

Zentral gelegen, Straßenlärm, für einen Kurztrip in Ordnung

Hotel liegt genau im Zentrum von SFO! Super Lage für shopping, essen etc. die Metrostation und the famous cable car sind auch in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zimmer auf Hinterseite gelegen wählen, somit ist man vom Lärm von der Strasse gut abgeschirmt. Zimmer sind sehr klein aber zwecksmässig gut eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Nachts und vorallem morgens ziemlich laut, da das Haus sehr hellhörig ist (man hört die Leute nach Hause kommen und am Morgen aufstehen). Frühstück ist sehr "basic", könnte reichhaltiger sein. Ansonsten ein super Hotel, dass ich gerne weiterempfehle.

Die Zimmer sind relativ klein, aber sehr sauber und ganz gut eingerichtet. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Strasse hin. Deshalb war es auch ein wenig laut,da die Cable Cars die Endhaltestelle vor der Tür haben. Aber die Aussicht war perfekt und für ein Hotel mitten in der Stadt ausgezeichnet.Sehr viele Shops und Essensgelegenheiten direkt vor der Tür. Sehr freundliches und bemühtes Personal.

Für drei Tage San Francisco war dieses Hotel die ideale Ausgangsbasis. Sehr schnell mit der BART vom Flughafen zu erreichen liegt es einfach ideal in der Mitte des Einkaufswunderlands und mit der Cable Car vor der Tür. Die Zimmer mögen, wie einige Kommentare erwähnten, mitunter klein sein, aber wir fanden unseres ausreichend, mit großem Bad, sehr ruhig (nach hinten) und erfrischend geschmackvoll und mit schönen Farben eingerichtet -- nicht so kitschig-plüschig wie die meisten anderen (amerikanischen) Boutique-Hotels oder die Ketten mit Ihren austauschbaren Pressspanmöbeln. Das Frühstück ist etwas für Süßmäuler, aber vollkommen okay. Und guten Kaffee und Leckereien gibt es nun wirklich an jeder Ecke (Bäckerei Boudin im Macy's z.B.) Wir würden in jedem Fall noch einmal dort übernachten!

The hotel is located in the centre, only 2min walk downhill to Powell Trolley station. The staff is very helpful at anytime. Breakfast are inlcuded and it is a PLUS for a 2* hotel. I would personnaly consider this hotel as a 3* for the price of a 2*, looking at different standards of a 2*. If you need to go on the internet, be aware that you can only access with your credit card (it is safe but not very helpful if you want to pay cash). WIFI is not Free. If you are keen on a modern and very cosy hotel, i woudn't recomment this hotel. If you want a safe central located hotel that is not too expensive, I would definitely recommend the Startford.

Ideal location. Very central. Other than cable cars trundling up Powell St., very quiet. Staff at reception very helpful when I asked for directions. Suggested best ticket to purchase to give three days unlimited travel on excellent transport system. Doesn't include BART Good selection for continental breakfast, included in price. Over all, very satisfied.

Ideal choice of hotel - within easy access of BART, Union Square, China Town and all major stores / restaurants. Staff friendly and helpfull, rooms clean and comfortable

it isn't Hilton, but then again, the price is very acceptable, the rooms clean and nice, and outside the hoteldoor you have a choice of every kind of food and stores, that you can imagine. A fast jumb and you are heading against Chinatown, the North Side or Fishermans Wharf on the famous cabel-cars. Only two things: The breakfast and the elevator. But you can always use the stairs, it is healthier, some say - and have your breakfast in the Bellini across the street. You can afford it, if you stay at Stratford.

Don't expect a huge room, but go confident you'll be in a great location sleeping in a clean room. The service was also good!

The hotel room was priced reasonably for it's location. The room I stayed in was clean but very small. If I had been there longer than one night I would have upgarded to a bigger room.

We needed this hotel to stay in for a training my wife had the next day. The room was nice and looked like it had been remodeled. However, it was very very small. I'm not sure I liked that the sink was outside of the bathroom and right next to the bed. In addition, the location of the hotel is right in the heart of union square. This is great on one end because you have shops, stores and restaurants within walking distance, but it is a very crowded and noisy area. Their website listed parking on site, yet there is no parking. You need to pay $25 to have your car parked valet or you can risk parking it outside but need to move it at 2am for some reason. The hotel only has one elevator and this is a very popular hotel amongst foreigners, so the elevator was always jam packed with people that had huge backpacks and sleeping bags. All in all, if you don't have a car and need a hotel to stay in for one night, this place is good for that, but I wouldn't reccomend it for someone who has a car and is staying there for an extended vacation.

Can't beat the price and location of this little gem.

I thought for the price this place would be a bit scruffy but it was actually very nice in a great central location and with breakfast thrown in. I didn't notice it being particuarly noisy although we were at the back.

We will be returning to the Hotel Stratford when we come back to SF. The location is ideal, close to BART, Muni, cable cars, street cars. Vibrant neighborhood, shopping and restaurants galore. Our single room was cozy, the decor was nice - we appreciated the vintage feel quite a bit. Staff was friendly. helpful, always smiling and knowledgeable about the ciy. "Breakfast" left something to be desired, but wouldn't hold that against them. We got a discount on the room when we reserved, but would gladly pay full price on next visits.

Excellent location for those who want to be where the "action " is in downtown SF...close to public transportation, shopping, restaurants, etc. The room was small but clean and cozy, the continental breakfast adequate. The only downside for me personally was having to pay for wifi! All other boutique hotels in the same area have FREE wireless! I would suggest to the hotel management that this item would only be a plus for them if they instituted it. I was only there for one night, so customers viewing this review should be aware of that.

Considering this is in the heart of San Francisco, I stayed in Strattford Hotel which is in the beginning of Cable Car and one step to Union Square. Thousands of things are around! I have seen a lot beside my condensed meeting program. Perfect choice.

The hotel is nice, front desk people are polite, very clean room, basic breakfast but enought for someone like me. My only complain is that the guests are very noisy and you can hear the conversations and even more... I went to a scientific meeting at the convention center, the hotel is four blocks from the convention center. I will stay in the same hotel my next meeting in San FRancisco for sure.

If you like not sleeping, it is a great hotel. A lot going on near Union Square! Even bands on the corner, until 11:00 pm. I was cranky due to a 4:00 a.m. wake up.

If you're looking for a hotel in the heart of San Francisco, this is it. Everything you need is close by. Or just hop on any number of transportation options to get you to your destination. The BART and cable cars are only two blocks away. True, the rooms are small, but I was here to see San Francisco. If you're looking for a safe place to stay, and use it as a starting spot, this is the hotel.

If you want a hotel with good rates and in the heart of the city, this is the place. I was looking for somewhere that I could use as jumping point to see the sights and sounds of San Francisco. Found it! The rooms are nice and comfortable. i felt safe here. It's a great place to stay, and I would stay here again.

The room was overpriced, because it was exceptionally TINY. I have never seen such a small room, and I've been to European hotels that are small! I was upgraded so that was nice and the location was on top of Union Square. I was excited that they had a breakfast, but I was slightly disappointed in the selection. If you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in the room, then this is the perfect hotel for you!

I wasn't very familiar with San Francisco before my trip. All I knew was that it was expensive, so when I saw that the hotel was located at Union Square and then I saw the price, I figured it probably wasn't a great location. I was wrong. Union Square is packed with things to do and though it's kind of far from Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars run right past the hotel. If you walk up the hill one block you can jump on and ride right down to the water. I really enjoyed my stay.

This hotel has some good and some bad points. Good Location - Union Square is great Room - Small but clean Price - Not so Good Reading light - Many rooms do not have a reading light next to the bed. ok for TV but not to read at night. Elevator - only 1 and slow Temperature - No A/C thus an open window is necessary with the noise and SF lights.

The room cost was just pocket change compared to the value. The place is a little boutique hotel in the heart of union square right on Powell Street where the trollies run. Everything is right there and all the transport is accessible! The ride from the airport was also really easy as the BART stops literally 2 blocks away from the hotel. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS WONDERFUL FRIENDLY AND CLEAN HOTEL!!

Perfect location, steps from Union Square. The rooms are pretty small but comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. One complaint - don't get a room by the elevator! The walls are thin and we woke up at 8am to people walking in and out.

Clean room, great location, breakfast included. The rooms are tiny and I had a view of another brick wall. If view and space are not an issue, you'll be happy.

The Stratford is located in a great location for shopping and playing tourist. The room was small, but clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a simple yet kind of hip place at a reasonable price, the Stratford is for you.

I love the location of Stratford Hotel. We did not spend too much time on waiting for the cable car since we picked a good time to be there. The cable car was just several blocks down to Powell St. It is a little weird to have a bathroom sink in the room but not in the bathroom. Anyway, I will come back to this hotel again.

I booked this hotel for the price/location. It was an overnight in SF with my mom and daughter. Very good for a quick stay...NOT good for longer. We were put in room 402 and it was facing the Powell street side...VERY noisy despite the double windows...no A/C, just a fan...kind of stuffy. Very close to shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly...I would go again, but not for a weekend...just an overnight.

It's definately a good location. Trolley car right in front of hotel. Good for shopping. But there's no hot water when a morning I stayed. Front desk are nice. But not so helpful. Room is VERY small. I have no space to open my two luggages. it's hot too. No wireless. I will come back again if price is lower than 100.

The hotel is perfectly located for a visit to the city. Situated right on the cable car line and within walking distance of the BART & MUNI station. Shops, theatres & restaurants on the doorstep and Chinatown and the bay not too far away. The rooms were clean & comfortable and breakfast adequate. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but that was the only gripe. Our room was small but didnt expect anything else from a city centre hotel. Would definitely recommend.

They had friendly hosts working there. The beds were a little small. The only bad part was when it came to check-out; it took them an hour to get my car back form the valet.

The hotel personnel were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has charm and is convenient for tourists. The most incovenient things were the slow elevator, ice machine only on one floor, and no drinks machine in hotel.
