gute Lage im Zentrum, besonders wenn man mit dem Zug kommt (eigener Eingang von der Bahnhofshalle, der allerdings nicht gleich zu finden ist - nahe Tim Hortons); Zimmer sehr schön, Badezimmer ebenso

Selbst wenn der Streik der Mitarbeiter nicht in diese Bewertung einfließen würde, könnte ich dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen. Die Zimmer waren ungepflegt bis unhygienisch und der Geruch auf den Fluren ließ darauf schließen, das das letzte Mal in den 80er Jahren gelüftet wurde. Dank des Streiks war es nicht möglich den Fitnessraum und den Pool in Augenschein zu nehmen. Ein Frühstück wurde auch nicht angeboten.

Very good location and in amazing quality. Proximity to train station and metro was very convenient. Ability to borrow bicycles was useful, especially with close proximity to BIXI rack.

The rooms were small and had no charm. It seemed like a big convention hotel. The one thing that makes this a good place to stay is that it is connected to the underground city...which Montreal is known for...shopping,restaurants, train station, Metro ...so in winter, it would be really easy to get around almost the entire city and do things without going outside and freezing. Make sure you ask for a room facing north if you are on a low floor.

This is a four star hotel with a setting and staff to match. Our view from the 16th floor was not the best, but the elevator ride up there was impressive. We ate in one of the three in-house restaurants. Each time it was very good. Julio, our waiter for two of those meals, was the most pleasant, intelligent, and considerate person you could encounter. The granddaughters, of course, enjoyed the pool.

In an expensive city the Queen was quite reasonible. It was about 3/4 mile from the old town so walking was OK, but the hills made it long. It is easily connected to the underground city which should be discovered on the visitors first day.

Location,location, location! Near to everything, shopping, local transportation, entertainment venues, sightseeing, etc. Great staff, quality room. Didn't take in hotel dining; too many other options.

I stayed at the Queen Elizabeth on the 2nd week of August 2009. It was a great experience. I had been in Montreal before and stayed at a different 4 star hotel; the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth outperform that hotel. I had a fantastic view of Montreal's skyline in this corner room. The hall was great, the personel was very friendly and helpful. I'll recommend this hotel to all.

This hotel is connected by elevator to the main train station. As we had to catch an early morning train, it was very convenient. It is a first-rate hotel in many ways, and the hotel restaurant is only moderately overpriced.

Nice place. Great location. Small room, kind of cramped, but good quality furniture/bedding. Had issue with the housekeeping not re-supplying coffee and newspaper one day. Nice pool facilities.

Excellent location in downtown, conveniently located on the 515 bus route, near metro centers and above the Via train station. We had a great view of the cathedral next door - beautiful! Be sure to buy a museum pass (unlimited local bus/metro travel and museum admission for 3 days) at the concierge desk. It was perfect for our stay, and we hope to return.

Fairmont Queen Elizabeth was the perfect place for our Montreal vacation. We had a wonderful view of the city, looking down at the cathedral next door. It is conveniently located on the 515 bus route and near the metro. The Via train station is just below, making our next visit to Quebec City very convenient. The underground and downtown area is within walking distance, full of shops and cafés. My only suggestion for improvement is that it would be nice if maps were available at the concierge desk, and if they made known that museum passes (3 days of museum visits and unlimited public transport) are available for purchase there. We would definitely stay again.

The Queen Elizabeth hotel was an excellent choice for us, as it was located centrally (downtown) near great shopping and two Metro stations. The service was overall very good, although the line to meet with the concierge was often quite long. Our room was a little on the small side: fine for us (a couple) but would have been too small if a third person were on the trip. The mattress was also extraordinarily firm, uncomfortably so for me. Neither of these factors would change my mind about staying there again, though. The location and amenities made it worth it.

We found a super deal for this hotel and are so glad we stayed at the Queen Elizabeth. For the money we spent, we got our money's worth, we would have never paid the normal rate though. It's a little bit of a hike from the Old Port and from the bus station (where we came in) but it's a pleasant walk.

Hotel was nice and they were very accomodating to let us check in at 10am rather than 4pm due to our travel schedule. Room was nice but there was a precious coffee spill that ruined all magazines and guides in room and they were not changed. Also, still was spilled coffee stains on wall. Air conditioning did not appear to function properly in room. It wasnt HOT, but it wasnt COLD either. A/C finally turned on sometime in the middle of the night. Very nice hotel with great location and price. All employees were polite and courteous.

The hotel is situated above the main train station in Montreal,so it is a great central location. Although the staff is friendly and the service is good, there is always a line at the front desk. I'm sure there are alternaatives to reduce wait time for guests. I stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City and the front desk attention was much more efficient, hardly ever anyone in line.

The location is a bit further than desirable from the hot spots & restaurants but in the summer its a nice walk. However, the mattress in the room really needs to be replaced. So please test it before accepting the room.

Nothing beats the location of this hotel...steps from the subway, bank, food court (just like grand central in manhattan)..the concierge was knowledgeable and helpful. The in house Beaver Club was good too…our only disappointment was the bed, which could have been much better given the star rating of the hotel.

We loved staying at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth because of its history and grandeur. It is also conveniently located just blocks away from St. Catherine Street with its shops and dining. Another fun part of the trip was walking up to Le Musee des Beaux Arts and seeing the exhibit on John Lennon and Yoko Ono, knowing they had held their famous "Bed In" just three floors above our hotel room. Definitely a great place to stay!

The hotel staff was extremely courteous! Loved having access to the upstairs lounge- that was a nice touch. Also really cool to see the John Lennon/Yoko Ono room! Location was good... walking distance to the old town as well as the bars. Was convenient having the hotel attached to the underground mall!

We booked a Gold Level room after staying at Fairmont's Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. We expected similar service, but the Gold Level at the Queen Elizabeth is two floors and not secured like it is in Ottawa. There is an added bonus of having an elevator servicing the two Gold Level floors, but that is not secured and is very slow. Most of the time it was just as quick using the regular elevators. Also, the concerige was not available during check out on the day of our departure. There was a note saying they would return promptly and for immediate service, we could call the front desk. After being on hold with the front desk for 15 minutes and waiting at the concerige desk on the Gold Level floor, we finally gave up and left. The limited contact we did have with the concerige on the Gold Level left us a little disappointed. We were there on a Saturday night and asked where we could do some shopping. He smugly laughed at us and told us that there were no shops open on Saturday nights. We later had another question and asked the concerige in the lobby and he was more than happy to help us, even as it appeared that he was leaving for the day. A little disappointed in the fact that they were not as accomodating to the gold level guests as they claim to be. Otherwise, the room was lovely. We had a king room and it was spacious enough for two people. Bathroom size was adequate. The hotel was in a nice location within walking distance of shopping, eating, and attractions; and we felt very safe walking at night. The doormen were exceedingly helpful. We would stay again, but contemplate spending the extra money for the Gold Level service which doesn't seem worth it.

On my last visit, I stayed out the city, and i was pretty bored following my bsuiness meeting. A colleague suggested I stay in the city of Montreal and recommended the Queen Elizabeth. Not only did I stay at a great hotel, but I had access to some many sites of Montreal that I missed on my previous stay. I have already determined that I will stay at The Queen Elizabeth whenever I am in the area for business.

We were disappointed with our stay. Internet access cost $14/day and was not reliable - kept losing the link - parking was $26/night valet parking was mandatory. We were not impressed with the hotel staff. Not sure if this is a product of Montreal or the hotel itself. We felt that staff tended to treat us with indignation, especially at the front desk.
