Airotel Parthenon - Athen

Sehr netter Empfang und guter Service an der Reception. Die Zimmer sind sauber und nett eingerichtet. Allerdings etwas ringhörig. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und nicht selbstverständlich für griechische Hotels. Sehr zentral gelegen gleich bei der Akropolis und der Plaka und doch ruhig. Wir würden sofort wieder hingehen.

This hotel was the best one we stayed at throughout our European trip, and it also happened to be the cheapest. The hotel staff was very helpful with finding locations, and explanations about the cultural norms and expectations in Athens. The room was decent, but the TV was really small, but then again we weren't there to watch TV. This hotel also has free WiFi, with no conditions, they just give you the password and that's priceless when you want to find out information about the area and look up history on some of the sites you are about to see. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed in the hotel for one night before flying home from Athens.The staff are kind & gave us good advice about how much taxis should cost from the Port, best way to get to the airport etc. The hotel is on a side street near the Acropolis and near to shops, restaurants, cafés & the metro.

From this hotel, you can walk to the New Parthenon Museum and the entrance to the Acropolis in 5 minutes. The surrounding neighborhood has many tavernas and shops - in summer it is very festive. The Metro and bus stops are convenient to the hotel. The hotel staff are very helpful and efficient. The rooms are furnished sparely but are quite large and have everything you need to be comfortable. Best thing is the free wireless high speed internet. The breakfast is ample.

Great hotel for the money. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. The location is fabulous. The hotel is a block from the Acropolis Metro station, the Plaka area, and the entrance to the Acropolis. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free wifi was a nice--especially when traveling with 2 teenagers!

If you want to be literally within 5 minutes of the Acropolis then stay at this hotel. However, keep in mind that this hotel does not offer great thrills and it has the essentials. Clean and ok but not outstanding.

Austere lobby and rooms, but clean and more than adequate. Can't beat location. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is good. Unless you're looking for luxuries and oversized room, this is a good choice.

Airotel Parthenon was an excellent location for my husband and I to explore the Plaka area of Athens and the ancient sites including the Acropolis. It was less than a block away from the metro, and the size of the bathroom was a pleasant surprise.

My husband and I just came back from a three weeks vacation in Europe. It's my first trip to Europe. We stayed in Venice, Florence, Rome, and Athens. We spent two nights at the Airotel Parthenon before flying back to the States. Good location, and a safe neighborhood. It's only a few blocks away from The Acropolis. The only complaint about this hotel, is that the mattress is uncomfortable. It's very hard. This hotel in general, is very simple and plain. However, the service is excellent and the facility is clean. It comes with full American breakfast, scambled eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, toast etc. We're glad to have stayed at this hotel, but next time we will stay at a different hotel that has a more comfortable mattress.

This location was fabulous... two blocks from new museum and four blocks from Acropolis. The staff was very helpful. The bathroom was small but sufficient. The triple is a little tight, but clean. The best tip I can give is if you take the X95 bus from the airport, cheapest (1 euro) it drops you in the town center, you can grab a cab there. Do not pay more than 5-7 euros (including tip) for the cab because hotel is within walking distance. Its just hard to find upon arrival.

Fantastic location in Plaka - close to the Acropolis and other sites of interest, plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Hotel a little bit dated in terms of decor but very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money considering the location.

The location of the Airotel Parthenon is ideal for tourism: easy to access from the airport (X95 bus to Syntagma Square, then subway to Acropolis), and just 5 minutes' walk from the Acropolis. As for the hotel itself: the room was fine, the wireless internet was free, the (included) buffet breakfast was plentiful, and the staff was very helpful.

The best choice for our stay in Athens. Very close to attractions and activities. Staff attentive.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. Its a great price and it is located right in the center of everything.

Great value & location - the service was exceptional - staff was consistant in anticipating our needs - even before we knew them. Will recommend to our friends & family.

The Airotel Parthenon is a good but basic hotel in an excellent location for exploring Athens. It is less than five minutes' walk from the entrance to the Acropolis and within easy reach of most of the other attractions. The rooms are comfortable and ours had a small balcony. All members of the reception stafff were smiling and helpful as were those in the restaurant at breakfast time although, for some reason, they never clear any dirty plates from your table until you have left. Breakfast was good and featured (to our amazement) proper Douwe Egberts coffee. It would have benefitted from fresh rather than tinned fruit. All in all, the hotel suited our requirements very well.

The location cannot be beat. The front desk staff were very nice and accomidating. I could not have been more pleased. It was a great place to stay, near the major sites.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while on a business trip in Athens. The location is superb - with very easy access on foot to the Akropolis, beautiful old cobbled streets and a great selection of restaurants. The metro station is just around the corner. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to both holiday and business people.

Love the hotels and the staff. Location was a big hit

The location can't be beat -- walk out the door and half a block away you'll find all the tavernas and shops of the Plaka. The Acropolis is a short walk away as well. The breakfast is great -- eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, fruit, cold cuts, cereal, breads and wonderful baked goods, plus excellent coffee ... guaranteed to satisfy! The staff is very helpful and friendly, the rooms (although small by American standards) are clean and comfortable, and the location (two blocks from the Metro) is ideal. Highly recommended!

This place has a great location, really close to good restaurants and the sights. The hotel is basic for it's rating but fine. Rooms were sparse but clean. It's pretty quiet too. Breakfast buffet was good and service excellent. Great value for money.

Excellent location in the heart of tourist area in Athens, but the room was tiny and needs freshening. The bathroom leaked from the room above ours and we had to move rooms

From the greeting and assistance on the first step into the hotel to the final assistance with bags as we left the hotel in a taxi, service was exceptional. By European standards, our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The provided breakfast was bountiful and delicious. And the location could not have been better for anyone wishing to explore on foot--just about half a block to the entrance to the Plaka and view of the Acropolis. Being outside the Plaka made for a quiet evening of rest which we needed after our long flight from the states. Service personnel all spoke English and were very helpful with directions, answering questions, and anticipating our needs.

This hotel has a fantastically convenient location. Literally a hundred yards from the Acropolis, several other "must see" atttractions, a Metro stop, and hundreds of shops and restaurants. The hotel also offers internet access for a fee, though the connection is very slow. The rooms are basic but kept clean. The included breakfast was very convenient and satisfying. All in all, I would recommend to anyone staying in Athens.

The beds were rock like, as is pretty much typical for all but the highest end European hotels. That issue aside, the Parthenon is an excellent choice if you want to stay in a mid-range hotel. The place was clean, the room was actually large by European standards, the hotel is around the corner from the Akropoli metro station and the new Acropolis museum, and only 2 blocks from the Plaka and all its restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was more than adequate, although not stellar. We'd stay there again.

Loved the location! Comfortable, clean room. Very nice full breakfast! Staff was Great! We could walk and take the metro everywhere. Plaka for dinner was one block away. Made for a great vacation stop!

The hotel was in a great location. Near all the major sites. The Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Acropolis all with in shouting distance. Hotel is tucked away in an alley, with shops and resturants right out on the main road. Hotel is about 1/3 mile from hotel. We did not have but 1 and 1/2 days in Athens. So can not get into much more detail. We were however treated well and for the short time we had in Athens, we were in the right hotel for what we wanted to see. Great Hotel.

After many travels abroad, my daughter and I felt this hotel was excellent. The staff was exceptional in answering questions in a friendly manner. The location is tops--you can walk to almost any important site or use the metro just a block away. We walked to the Parthenon, Syntagma Square, etc. The breakfast buffet has a great choice. The bar also has a sandwich menu. For our early AM departure, the desk arranged for a taxi and offered an early breakfast.

Having never been to Athens before we did some research on the net. Many of the hotels we looked at in our price bracket, had good reviews for the hotel, but masny said they felt unsafe walking back at night. The hotel Parthenon ticked all the boxes. The taxi driver had difficulty finding the hotel, as you have to drive through a pedestrianised area to get to it, but the location is superb. Its only a 5 min walk to the Acropolis, 5 mins to temple of Zeus, and less than a minute to the pedestrian area with bars and resteraunts. There are also excellent restaurants on the street that runs parralell to Makri st. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, if a little basic. It would certainly be my first choice if i ever need to stay in Athens again.

Nice clean rooms. Good value. great location. Nice shops and restaurants nearby. Very close to the new Acropolis Museum - currently available for free limited viewing from 10:00 - 18:00. I'd go back!

It was a very nice hotel, excellent location, and the hotel staff was very helpful. My friends and I would stay there again.

Excellent access to Plaka and Acropolis, also Temple of Zeus. Close to Metro.

The hotel was great for a 2 day stay to get a quick look at the tremendous historic sights in the area. It was very convenient to all the major sights, within easy walking distance. The neighborhood is old, but not seedy or problematic. Sidewalk cafes are only a block away. All the staff were very helpful and communicate in English very well. The morning breakfast (included) was a very good buffet.

This was the second hotel we stayed at in Athens and all I can say is that I wish it had been the only hotel we had stayed at in Athens. It was quite, clean and had an excellent location; literally within a 3 minute walk to the acroplis or plaka. The hotel provided superior customer service and the accomodations were outstanding, especilaly when compared with similar hotels in Europe. I would enthusiastically reccommend this hotel to anyone and would go back in a heart-beat! 100% enjoyable experience in every way.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night coming off of a cruise and enjoyed it. The rooms are a bit threadbare but they are clean. Beds were also not the most comfortable but I cannot imagine a better location. It is on a very quiet street just off the Plaka and around the corner from the Acroplis Metro station. The staff was very helpful, spoke great English and could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The lobby is very impressive so you expect that of the rooms but that is not the case. There was a hot breakfast with lots of choices. For the money this is a great deal.
