The only good thing is that has free WIFI. Breakfast was horrible, noisy room, and very small, towels were in bad condition

I was not able to check into this hotel the first night of my trip because the entrance was locked and no one was at the desk. Yes, that's right, they lock the door after 11 pm, which is fine if you have a key with the keycode to get in, but as I had not checked in yet there was no way for me to get into the hotel and out of the rain at the time. Furthermore, even when the door is locked, there is supposed to be someone at the desk to buzz clients in, but no one was there. I had to go to a nearby hotel to use a phone to call the front desk, and still no one answered. I ended up having to pay out of pocket for a room at a different hotel the first night, and to top it all off, the next day when I went in to check in at Hotel Le Saint Malo, I was met with unsatisfactory service. Instead of listening to my complaint about the previous night, the concierge proceeded to argue with me that someone was in fact at the desk the night before (even though another customer had the same complaint). I have not received any compensation for the trouble I had to put up with at this hotel. And the walls are paper thin, so don't expect a full nights sleep if you are a light sleeper because any noise in the hallway is sure to wake you up.

OK Hotel, small room but very convenient, cheap, and clean. Good VALUE for the money.

If you are heading up for a fun weekend this hotel was perfect. Great service, kind staff, and perfect location. Would recommend to anyone.

Nice location, clean but small room. Very nice people running the place. Only minutes from the Bell Center and other nightlife attractions. A bit expensive for the size and the fact that the parking cost $5 more than in any other city of its size that I've stayed in were negatives. I could see the parking being that expensive if the room wasn't; but all-in-all a great place that I'll more than likely stay in again on my next trip to Montreal.

This was not a bad hotel at all. For the price, it wast too bad. The room was kind of small and it got really hot in our room. Its in a great location if you're going up there to party because its right off of St. Catherines St. which is where all the bars and shops are located. The hotel staff was very friendly and they have their own parking garage so you don't have to worry about parking. But they do charge you per night for parking and I didn't find that out til we got there. Overall I had a really great experience at this hotel.

I strongly recommend Americans not to visit Montreal and this hotel. Canada is the sickest place I have ever been.

Don't look too close at the need for vacuuming and overall cleanliness and you will sleep o.k. in your economical accomodations. The good news is that our friends did not find the bed bugs until we were leaving.

Room was dirty and in poor repair. Hotel located in a seedy part of town.

With Hotel St. Malo being right on St. Catherine street you're within walking distance of everything adjacent to St. Catherine street, which if you're a tourist is all you'll need! Teeny, tiny hotel with tiny rooms, but it was clean and truthfully, the price and location make it an excellent choice!

satisfied my need for the two nights in Montreal. Great if you just need a cheap clean place in a great location for getting around downtown. I'd stay there again under the same circumstances.

The staff were really friendly and accomodating. The place was clean. Although, our room was very small, but worth the money. My only real problem was that we could hear everything outside our room (people coming in and out of the hotel, phone ringing, people talking, ...etc,). I would go back to this place again, because of the price and how accomodating staff were.

Même si l'hotel est bien situe, on peut deplorer que la chambre soit minuscule, sans climatisation et tres bruyante. La salle de bains n'est pas tres propre et on nous a fait payer 10 dollars pour une place de parking dehors qui etait un emplacement pour les poubelles!!!

Hôtel bien situé. Bon accueil.
