We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is in a great location, overlooking the sea, and looks impressive when you first get there. From our room (211), we had side view of the sea and it overlooked the pool. It was badly in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was smelly and there were ants running aong the headboard! Breakfast is expensive at 13 euros, and was an OK buffet. The breakfast waiter had a bad attitude problem too, very surly and rude. Make sure you book a car parking space, as we had to move the car one night when there was a wedding on. One of our party had a refurbished room that was lovely, hence the title of this review.

We stayed at the Husa Imperial Tarraco for one night during a recent tour of Spain. I have to say I wasnt expecting much for the price we paid but was very impressed with the quality and location of the hotel. The room was spacious and well equipped and had superb views over the roman ampitheatre and coastline. Breakfast was relaxed and had a wide choice on the buffet. Staff were friendly and helpfull too. I would definatly reccomend this hotel if you need to stay in Tarragona.

The location of the hotel was spectacular with terrific views of the beach and the roman amphitheatre. It was a short stroll to the town and the old town. The rooms were adequate and the breakfast was reasonable. The pool was closed when we got there but did open on the last day.It is tiny for a hotel of that size. The price of drinks wasextortionate (35 Euros for 6 drinks) and two of our group were pickpocketed while boarding a train in Tarragona so keep an eye on your pocket, in more ways than one!!

The location of the hotel was a nice surprise in that it was very central, 1 min walk from the nicest restaurants and bars. 10 min walk from beach. Staff were very unfriendly and generally slow to do things. Roof top terrace and swimming pool were both closed for renovation during our stay, should not be advertised if not available. Bed in room was very uncomfortable, neither of us slept well for our stay - should be higher quantity and more comfortable pillows. Bed spread too light. Balcony was nice with a good view out to sea. Balcony rail was old and rusting.

It was a last minute decision to spend one night in Tarragona. This hotel is great & this little town is beautiful, although industrial in its initial approach, this place offers a stunning little insight to ancient Roman settlements. The staff at the hotel were very helpful & very respectful.

Staff generally didn't speak English but thats fine as its Spain and you expect to have to use a little local. That said it did become a problem due to the atrocious state of the room, it was difficult to discuss this with them but in general they were not remotely fussed I gave up complaining 48 hours into 72 hour stay. Nothing worked the tattered woodchip, tiny old bed with insufficient pillows, doors that looked like someone had tried to escape the carpet had cigarette burns, I could go on and on but really lovely city but the Hotel I just want to forget. Great location the rest was disgraceful.

Good location, Ocean view. Walking distance from train station and the roman arena. Internet was expensive. Staff was decent, not great but not rude. My room was by the street and was a bit noisy.

Despite having read some poor reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor, I decided to book it for a break in February. I'm so glad I did. We'd a room with a balcony overlooking the amphitheatre and the sea. I know it wasn't summer but sitting out on the balcony in the afternoon was just perfect at this time of year. The room was fine; cleaned properly each day. Only complaint was the size of the TV (tiny) and the fact that the only channel available in English was CNN. The safe worked well though we'd to ask for a key to it from Reception (no charge). Those on Reception were helpful and pleasant. We arrived very early, around 1.00pm, and although booking in time wasn't until 4.00 we were immediately given ur room. Altogether a very enjoyable short break.

The hotel is well located overlooking the ampitheatre and a short walk to the main attractions. We did not pay the supplement for the sea view and were therefore put in a room on the first floor without a balcony, although I believe there are balconys at the back. The room was OK but, it was noisy at night other residents, rubbish being collected etc, the hotel allowed rennovations to take place from 8.00am in what sounded like the next room and from 9.00am onwards there was only luke warm water.

The view was great from the balcony - The website says the hotel is wihin walking distance. It is unless you have luggage! It is located at the top of a steep hill. we were hauling up our luggage about a quarter of a mile before turning around and hailing a cab. We asked for a non-smoking room but the room was a smoking one. The bed wasn't the best, but was par for a hotel.

We arrived on a day when the temperature was over 90 degrees F. The room they gave us was boiling hot. We turned on the air conditioner (the hotel had been billed as being "air conditioned") only to get a thin trickle of air. The desk clerk called the "technic" who came into the room, examined the mechanism and told me that this was the best they could do; that the flow of coolant to the rooms' air conditioners was minimal and that it would take a long time to cool off the room. We were told that the hotel was full, yet travelers who arrived later than us were given rooms. The desk clerk then offered us another room which he said was better; unfortunately, although the thermostat was set for 65 degrees, the room was just as hot 6 hours later, as no cool air came in at all. In the end, we settled for the original room; by midnight it could barely be slept in. We wasted three hours checking out the unaccepatable alternative room. This is not the kind of service we expect from a hotel that call itself four-star.
