The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes - Orlando

My family stayed here for the second week of our vacation after having stayed at a disney porperty. Check in was fine we had arom on the 8th floor overlooking the car park(views were still pleasant) and part of te golf course. We had breakfast included with our stay which was adequate from this type of hotel, though the morning before we left it took a wait of 10mins before we were seated! I was told it would take under 5mins! We ate at bleu several times which was ok if not pricey for a family of 2 adults and 2 children, the bill was generally between $65-$80. We did use the pool at the Marriott which was nice for the children(it has a lazy river).The pool at the Ritz was small and could have done with more umbrellas and the pool area could have done with a clean. That said we were only by the pool a few times as the rest of the days were spent at the parks. Our room was ok with 2double beds not overly huge, beds comfy bathroom quite large though the toilet did smell of damp. Corridors neede a refurb but overall it is a lovely hotel very close to Seaworld etc but the staff are probably its best feature.

There are so many hotels to choose from in Orlando, but most of them don't fit what we want when we visit. We want a more grown up experience as we are visiting family. The attractions and being kid friendly are not important to us. We have stayed at both the JW Marriot & this year the Ritz Carlton. These hotels are perfect in comfort, service and location. The prices were a bit up from last year but still in our range. I would highly recommend both of these hotels even if you are traveling with children (they had lots of planned activities for families) There were two issues that came up that were annoying. First at the Ritz it seems as though there is only Valet parking. We asked for the self park area and were directed to a lot that is very removed from the entrance and it was difficult to figure out how to get to the entrance. After our second day we were given a parking summons. So I don't know what the deal is here. Some staff members are aware of the self park areas and others will issue you a ticket for parking there. The second area of concern was the pool. The first day we arrived and the girl behind the pool desk told us to take any chair with a white towel that didn't have someone's stuff on it. We settled in and then a pool boy came up and told us that they were reserved for someone else. We had to stand and wait for about 20 minutes before we were given chairs. They kept saying things were reserved but there was no reservation desk or list for us to sign for the next day. I think the pool guys run it like a black market operation, the more you pay the better spot you get. One guy even said we could snag an umbrella for $100.00!!! All of the chairs are always reserved because they decide on the spot who gets them. We also noticed that chairs in the best spot would sit empty for hours - I guess because people came early, paid the guys off and then went shopping. It didn't seem fair to hold the best spots when you're not even there. Other than that w

We were looking for a luxury hotel near Disney where kids and husband could go to the parks and I could take a day off at the pool and spa--and this was it! We got a great price on Hotels.com and stayed for 4 nights. It was about 10-15 minutes from Disney and was easy to access as long as you have a car. I was able to enjoy a day at the spa and it was pure luxury. I had one of the best massages and ate lunch out at the spa pool. It was a fabulous day. The food at the hotel was great--although a bit pricey. But overall, we loved the hotel, the pool, the fitness center, the spa and all of the staff was super friendly. We will definitely visit again.

Having turndown service and our room cleaned twice a day was absolutley heaven! Will definitely stay again!

The Ritz goes above and beyond to ensure ones comfort and we had our 2 year old with us and it truly was a very family friendly hotel. I did not want to leave.

This was our first time at the Ritz-Carlton. All the staff was really nice and helpful and the service was excellent. We stayed in the 14th floor club level room which went beyond our expectations. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

This was my first time ever staying at a Ritz Carlton and just like I thought it would, they exceeded my expectations. When I was at the check-in desk, they gave us bottled water and hot chocolate for my younger brother. They also had the kids check-in just for him. He loved it-it made him feel really important. I ate at the Vineyard Grill and it was delicious. Just a tip though, the sides and possibly the steaks are big enough that two people can share them. The attention to detail in this hotel is superb and it it was very clean and elegant. This is a Ritz Carlton, so you are supposed to try and dress the part which is not me all the time, but it was nice to feel "rich" for a day. Anybody looking for a romantic getaway I would definately reccommend this hotel.

The level of service was truly above and beyond throughout our 4 days on the Club Level....after a traditional bout of excessive eating both my wife and I were in dire need of something to settle our stomachs...at 4 A.M. we called the concierge for help...Tums (at $1.10 )was delivered by 4:10.....it's the little things that turn a vacation into a truly pleasurable experience.....

Great resort for adults, but a bit far away from the Orlando attractions kids like. Rent a car and don't take cabs if you plan on getting about a bit. Taxi fare to Disney is $35 each way!
