We didn't expect this 2 star hotel is like 3 star or up hotel, but when we found there is no air-con, no fan in our room, we asked the staff in reception, his answer: we are only 2 star hotel, so no air-con and no fan can be borrowed. As we supposed to stay here for 3 nights and Paris is still very hot during the period, we didn't think we can stay here for even a night. Plus, the room was so small that after we placed our bagges on ground, we almost had no space to walk. Yes, we tried other 2 star hotels in Paris before, but this one did make us very disappointed and we checked out soon after we had find another hotel nearby & checked out immediately. No even wanted to stay for a night.

This hotel was just fine... Positioned well as it's just a few blocks from Gard du Nord metro station (with a line to the airport). Lots of restaurants in the area. Be aware that there are a lot of "gypsies" who hang outside the metro station just be aware of that. In general I didn't feel unsafe in the area. The staff were extremely nice and always present (slept downstairs at night in hotel). The room was small and not air conditioned, so just be aware of the weather when you go here. All in all it was fine!

room was small, looked delapidated, nothing like the pictures. check in was suppose to be 1:00, room wasn't ready till 1:30. WORST OF ALL, I asked for a taxi to the Gare de L'est because it was raining outside. Guy at the desk said he couldn't get one, that it was too close. I walked 15 minutes in the pouring rain and caught a bad cold. NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED LIKE THIS!

On the plus side the hotel was very conveniently located near the Gare du Nord and the Metro. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The (included in the room price) breakfast was a plus. When they ran out of croissants, someone was immediately despatched to the Bakery next door to buy more. On the minus side, the elevator was too small to accommodate our luggage, so we had to carry it up to our fourth floor room. The room was tiny, no tea or coffee available, and the bedsprings could be felt through the mattress. The TV light could not be switched off and shone in our faces all night. We eventually draped a towel over it. Our towels were not replaced during our 3 day stay.

We choose this hotel because it was close to the Eurostar rail station. We passed two adult shops walking to the hotel and once there were not impressed. The man was nice enough, but the room smelled of urine and looked like something out of a bad summer camp cabin. Needless to say, we walked away from our expense of the night and actually went back to London!

The hotel was what you would expect from a 2 star hotel.. The front desk staff were very friendly and the room was just okay.. The bathroom was small and the shower pressure was weak. I was showing my daughter Paris for the first time and with very little money we booked this hotel thru this site. Considering the price this hotel deserves another star - apparently under new ownership, they bent over backwards to treat us like family. We paid in advance and they were ready for us - we checked in they gave us our key and greeted us everytime we came in or out. Its only a block from the Gare Du Nord which gets you anywhere in Paris via the Metro or internationally by train. They have internet for their guests and a cute little restaurant and will go out and get you whatever you want if they dont have it. We love this little hotel and will come back whenever we can.

The Hotel de Maubeuge, Gare du Nord has to be about the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We asked for a family quadrupedal, but they gave us a double room and pretended not to understand when we asked to pay the double room price instead of the quadrupedal. The "view" of the Eiffel tower is technically if you hang off the balcony and look down the street you can view the very top of it. The bathroom smelled like molding cheese, which the staff tried to remedy by leaving the bathroom door open and open all the windows, which would have been a good plan, maybe, if it hadn't been raining all day. For the first two days we were there they didn't change the sheets they just dressed the bed with the dirty sheets and when we finally checked out early to go to a better hotel, they demanded that we pay the tax on the room and wouldn't give us a refund for the rest of the days we would not be staying. This was our honeymoon and they ruined the first days of it. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason, there are plenty of other hotels in the area.

This hotel is in a very convenient location, a few 100 metres from the Gare du Nord station. We booked two triple rooms - both were small and basic but clean and airy. If you have a choice, don't choose a room on the 6th flloor - the room we had on this floor was very small and stuffy and the lifft goes no further than the 5th floor. The other room on the fifth floor however was fine; it had air conditioning and comfortable beds. I would use this hotel again (but not the 6th floor rooms!)

Location, Location, Location! Great location, close to the Gard Du Nord (Paris Nord)train station. From this station there's access to all the Paris subway lines and also all the international train lines. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The bathroom is small but hey, I'm only visiting so I don't care. As long as I could shower etc I was fine. Shower curtain in the bathroom needs to be longer because water from the shower splashes out to the bathroom floor. Nice room decor with Flat screen TV (everything on the TV was in French that kinda sucked). No A/C but the temperature in Mid-July when I was there was relatively comfortable so I didn't feel like I was in an oven...I even had to use the blankets at night. The front desk staff was pleasant and very accomodating, catering to all of my requests quickly. Nice hotel for the price and that location is very very hard to beat!

The hotel could not have been better placed transport-wise, with the Gare du Nord (SNCF and Métro) a 2-minute walk, and a bus stop 10 yards down the street. The room was small (and the en-suite ludicrously tiny!) but as a place to sleep it was absolutely fine. Montmartre is only 10 minutes away on foot, and the Opéra Garnier (and big department stores) 20 minutes.

Hotel staff was polite and spoke English, a rarity in France. Elevator could accommodate only one guest and his/her luggage. Room was smallest I have ever seen; there was just enough space to stand between the bed and the bathroom. Shower was stand-in, and the bathroom was small but comfortable in that it had hot and cold water. TV was up on a bracket and all shows were in French. Staff saved us money by suggesting local buses to take us to Eiffel Tower and Arch de Triomphe, great shawarma restaurant near the Gare du Nord railway station, and a walk to the Sacre Coeur! Note: English breakfast is a rarity, and accept the French breakfast in the breakfast room for 9 euros with a smile!! Hotel safely kept our luggage in its hold until we returned in the evening to catch our train to Madrid!

I stayed here one night. I really needed a hotel close to both Gare du Nord and Gare D'Est. This hotel definitely fit that bill and I was able to walk easily to both. The room was very quiet and I was able to sleep well. However, I would never stay here for any longer than one night. It was a very cramped room in a hotel with very outdated and garish decor. There are better options for a similar price in the area. However if you're just looking for a stop over point between trains for a night, as I was, this may work for you.

Would thouroughly recommend this hotel. Prices are extremely reasonable and the location is fantastic - literally a minute from the Gare du Nord. Which also means most buses and metro's are on hand too! Staff were lovely, so helpful and spoke impeccible English. I spoke French to them but they always responded in English (my French obviuosly isn't as good as I thought it was!!) Overall, a fab little place. Was being done up when we were there, so I am anticipating an increase in the prices?

Well, lets starts out on a good note... the hotel was extremely close to the Gare de Nord station which made access to all the site extremely easy. It was all of a 5 min was to the station. Also, all the brasserie in the area were open 24 hours. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the front desk was manned 24 hours. On the bad side....it seems that when we went to check in the reservation didn't carry over to the hotel and the lady had to manually write us in in the manual ledger. That being, I requested a room with 2 twin beds and we were only able to get a room with a double. The room was small, extremely small. I've seen dorm rooms that were bigger. The bathroom was also small. It had all the amenities (sink, toilet, shower) but was cramped. The shower was no more than a 2 foot square. You could barely bend over to soap your legs. Because the bathroom was so small everytime you showered the entire floor of the bathroom got wet. Other than that, it was a pretty good trip overall. I just wish the hotel room was bigger.

This is a ** hotel with no pretentions of being more. Room was small but adequate and clean but sparse, staff were helpful, breakfast provided at extra cost. It was great as a base to sight-see all day, close to trains, cafes. Felt we were in a neighborhod. Could be noisy in the hot summer as the road can be loud, you may want to close the window and there is no a/c. No coffee/tea making facilities. You get what you pay for!

The hotel is located just around the corner from Gare du Nord making it a good place to stay if you have a train the next morning - particulary to CDG aeroport. It is small - as most Paris hotels are, the room was crowded but clean. It had a WC with a decent shower, however there wasn't any air conditioning. This could be a problem as it is very noisy outside and it would be impossible to leave the window open if you were on the street side. The desk clerk was extremely helpful.

They threw an extra twin bed into a room with a double, so we could barely walk - and heaven forbid we need to pass by each other. We took our 9-year-old nephew to Paris. I (female) had to make him go into the bathroom or the hall when I needed to change clothes, due to the bathroom being to small. But it was clean and the staff was helpful. Okay for the price and proximity to the Gare du Nord. Walkable to the Sacre Coeur.
