Universal's Hard Rock Hotel - Orlando

Our stay was in early September 2009 for 9 days. Occupancy was around 35% during the week but got busier at the weekend. Booked a garden view room and we were on the 6th floor but this was due to the lwo occupancy. Hotel is modern and clean. Housekeeping was very good. Only had one small issue with the aircon in our room which was resolved without delay. Pool is nice. Would stay in this hotel again. However, please keep in mind that our stay was during low-mid season. Close proximity to Universal Studios. 10 minute walk to one of the i-Trolley stops.

Fun Fun Fun! The kids had a great time. So much to do. Great Hotel. very clean.

Great Hotel - The pool area is wicked and the bar outside too very child friendly with lots for the little ones to do. Very clean and a great location for the parks. Less than five min walk. Drinks aren't cheap but at which hotel are they!

The room was spacious enough for a family of 5 with a large bathroom and comfortable beds. The view from the room was highly praised by the kids. The pool was the highlight of our trip (other than going to Universal theme parks). And lastly, the restaurant and service was undoubtedly the best of the other 3 Universal resorts.

We loved the hotel. Great for everyone from singles to families. The pool is only 3.5 feet deep which is great for kids; they have an awesome water slide there and many activities. There's a bar at the pool for singles. This will be our choice for future Orlando stays. The only complaint we have is if you want something to drink after the restaurants close you have to go in the bar or call room service to get a coke or leave and drive to a store; which is inconvenient at midnight with kids. We will be back here next year. Very friendly atmosphere.

Everything about the Hotel was GREAT!!! Valet, Concierge, Room Service, Location, Pricing, etc... Only issue I had was with the restaurant (the kitchen). The attendant was rude and lacked people skills! We were told to wait 15 min. for a table then after arriving after 15 min, she had already called our name and that we were suppose to stay around and started asking us were we went went and what we were doing while there was at least 5 empty tables. Really did not appreciate that.

We just loved it.

I stay at the Hardrock in Orlando a few times a year.... It NEVER dissapoints! I would reccomend it to anyone who is looking to get away for a few days and have some fun!

We went with our 12 and 14 year old and really loved everything. The pool was great with the sandy beach, and the movies poolside in the evenings. The location is great, so close to Universal you can walk or take the boat. Never had to wait more than 2 or 3 min. for the boat. What I liked was if you tired of the parks you could either go to the shopping and eat at city walk or hang at the hotel, take a rest and go back to the park later. It was all so close. I thought the food was very reasonably priced. I also liked that there wasn't a ton of younger kids. It was more peaceful to sit by the pool. I really loved the "Kitchen", great food and while we were waiting for our dinner they had magicians going around to your table showing you trick, it was great! Plan on going back again in March.

My family an I love everything in this hotel. We Highly recomend it

THE CLUB FLOOR EVENING BUFFET WAS VERY LIMITED AND NOT THE SAME QUALITY OF FOOD SERVED AT OTHER HOTEL BRANDS OF A 4 STAR CLUB FLOOR BUFFET. THE ADVERTISED EVENING DESSERT WAS USUALLY JUST COOKIES (GOOD COOKIES HOWEVER) AND NOT THE TYPE OF EVENING DESSERTS THAT ARE SERVED IN THE CLUB FLOOR IN THE EVENING AT SOME 4 AND 4 1/2 STAR PROPERTIES

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. Location fantastic and the express pass for the Universal parks included in your stay is worth every penny you pay for staying at this hotel. We found the staff very friendly and efficient. Our stay was September 19-26th 2008 The parks were quiet and Citywalk was very quiet, most bars empty and no lines for restaurants. Definately will be going back. this is our 8th visit to Orlando and found this location to be one of the best for the parks, shopping and dining out (5 mins form I-drive)

Way too much money for so little!!!! Was not impressed, I have stayed at much better for less. Beds small and smell. Would not recommend!!!

convenient to parks expensive large fun design poor service- they try but it is very big and hard to pull off dirty pool area~ awesome pool loud, loud, loud music everywhere! several broken items in room several missing items in room still worth it for the location, fun for teens. Express passes=room keys= worth the price of staying on site!

The staff at the hotel was ok. They were definitely not going out of their way to accomodate us. The food and drink service poolside was extremely slow. Pool could have been warmer. The location is great and the express passes to Universal make it worth the money. Our maid service in our room was very lame.

When we arrived at 5 pm on the first day oif our stay, we were informed by the desk that our rrom would not be ready until at least 2 hours later. I responded to that by saying that I could understand a two hour delay early in the afternoon, but not after check-in time. The man at the desk called his superior and passed on my commnet. We were upgraded to a vacant suite immediately!

Had a great expierence with my stay at the Hard Rock hotel in Orlando. The staff was very helpful and the location was great for visiting the parks, water taxi service was great and everything is within walking distance... Great pool also...

We stayed at the Hard Rock for the first time for our 3 year wedding anniv. We had some room issues but was solved quickly. The Concierge Joe was AWESOME!! He made the the night really special, from the roses to the chocolate covered strawberries, bath gift basket & champaine. Made all the issues go away. Location great about 5min walk to all the attractions. We will stay again!!

we loved the location of this hotel! a short walk to everything "universal"!!. the beds were comfy, the fixtures in the room were upscale and the entire property was immaculate. we have stayed in many 4 star hotels, and this was by far one of the best! the service was incredible at the pool/bar. we are already planning our second trip :-)

Hotel is very close to CityWalk. The Beach Club Pool Bar is great. Bartenders are fantastic.

My fiancee and I went for Valentines weekend and stayed two nights at the hotel We couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was worth everything we paid and more. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend there! We are already planning a return vacation- family style. I would definitely recommend it.

The Hard Rock is a nice hotel overall. I have to give them credit, they have a Vegas like pool area which is very nice! The claim of a beach by the pool is true! It's great! The location is really nice as well. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the CityWalk area which is the perfect spot for dinner and going out to the bars. There is a WaterTaxi port right at the hotel, so if you want venture farther into Universal, it's not a problem. The room was really nice as well. It felt very comfortable and had a laid back feel which was very appropriate. The hotel could use a couple more decorations in the halls which were a little bare, but that's about it. The breakfast was great in "The Kitchen", but just a little pricey. Overall, if your going to Orlando, it's a good place to stay!

Nice place to stay closer to universal than there parking lot room keys were express passes for the rides. Hotel employees were polite and very helpful and help make my stay better. Unexpected concert in the lobby while we were there. would stay again.

I have stayed here a few times, but the hotel is not set up very well for business travelers. Also, they charge a hefty fee for parking in their lot- which was mostly empty when I was there.

A very nice hotel. Very clean, nice rooms, multiple food/dining options and relatively close to all the Disney attractions. My only complaint would be the $14.00 day for self parking.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was excellent and very accommadating. Our room was just awful, the phone did not work and it was filthy. There was burn marks all over the rugs and the backs of doors was very sticky. Had problems with the air conditioner also. There was no key to the fridge and had to wait to bring it to us. They offered to change our room, however it was midnight and we were tired, so wer declined. But, they did a wonderful thing, they are sending us a certificate for a complimentary room for another visit at no charge. They were all extremely nice.

I wanted to make a point of writing a review when I got home because I almost didn't stay with this hotel due to some of it's reviews. My husband and I really wanted to stay here, but after reading a few negative reviews about service, we were very nervous about chancing our few days together on so-so service. The service was FABULOUS!! When checking in at mid-night, front desk was great, the bell-hops were all more than helpful, valet parking as well. even when we hung out at their beautiful pool for the day, the waitress Tiffany was extremely pleasant. My husband and I were very relieved to have a perfect experience since we felt we were gambling with our choice. Can't wait to stay there again.

Got to Hotel @ 1030 am Hotel for a 4 night stay Hotel was EMPTY wouldn't allow early checkin. Then went to room after check in key didn't work, went and got new key and went into an uncleaned room. Called front desk and was moved to a new room had to ask front desk to bring me the key. 3rd day room cleaned at 430 pm. Wife asked for 100 pm checkout again hotel empty told only stay until 12 noon without additional charge

We chose the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando to celebrate an 11 year Anniversary. Much to our dismay the service was terrible - the prices were ridiculous - and the hotel was very 'blah'. There was nothing exciting about it, except for the ELIVS coustume displayed in the lobby. Not impressed - will not recommend to others.

Great hotel with plenty to do. Location, Location, you can't beat it. Room had enough space for four with a good set-up in the bathroom (two sinks). The pool was very nice but watch out in the PM, it seemed as everyone has the same idea. Express access to the parks is great but after a while you start feeling bad for those individuals that are not staying on the property and don't have a room key. I would and have already recommended many to stay. Make sure you check your charges on the property (room service / pool), they add 15-18% gratuity and if your not paying attention you could end up adding extra $$'s.

Such a great place to bring kids. Very easy access to Universal Studios, City Walk and Islands of Adventure. The atmosphere of the hotel is very upbeat, the staff was great and my 10 year old loved the pool and arcade!

Having stayed here many times over the past several years we were disappointed with the up-keep of the property. The high price is only offset by the front of the line benefit while attending the Universal theme parks. Parking is extra,too. The housekeeping service was poor, no bath mat replaced 2 days, no new coffee packet 2 days. We really used to love this place and we range in age from 80+ to preteen. I hope they regain their former style and service.

Overall, the amenities at the hotel were good. However, for a young couple without kids, it was quite frustrating. There were children running up and down the halls, making noise at all hours (which is the parents fault, but the hotel mgmt did nothing to stop it). Also, room service was knocking at the door between 7a-8a every morning. Additionally, the mattress and pillows were HORRIBLE - incredibly uncomfortable. On a positive note, the grounds were beautiful, the pool nice with lots of entertainment for both kids and adults, and the hotel was nice (except for the almost constant messes that were in the elevators).
