Hotel Park Avenue - Montreal

The staff were genuinely friendly. The location is good for the price. A bus nearly out front takes you to a metro stop or you can walk 7 minutes to another metro stop. A nice large park is very near, as is a rental bike rack and a bus that goes up Mt. Royal. Communal kitchen and in-room fridge are handy. There is a computer in the reception room that's free for guests to use. TV didn't have a remote, but are you really going to Montreal to watch TV?

Great helpfull staff, rooms are small and dirty the hotel does not justify the price, though the location of the hotel is good

Stayed here with some college friends for 2 nights. Cheep taxi and bus into downtown. Worked out great. Neat rooms but pretty bare. No issue if all you're doing is sleeping or showering. If you're going to the city to just have a good time and need a cheep, clean, safe place to stay, this is a great place. Staff also very helpful.

went for a trip with a couple of guys, front desk was very helpful and the location is great with a nice billiards hall below the hotel and a liquor store right next to it, also there are multiple strip clubs and bars on the street. not a bad walk from downtown and there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. over it was a great stay and we had a blast in the location of the hotel.

The hotel, for what my friends and i paid, was exactly what we expected... since we dont have a lot of money to spend on hotel expense we werent looking for anything glamourous, just convenient location and not a dump. The Hotel Parc Avenue was relatively clean, not vaccuumed though, but good for what we needed. there is a full kitchen on the second floor that is useful for warming up food in the microwave, or grabbing a glass for drinks. the bathroom was super small with a small shower, but the water pressure was amazing! parking was a problem, but if you just park right outside the hotel, nothing will happen to your car if you park it over the weekend. over all, i would recommend this hotel to college kids, who just need a place to stay while they party in Montreal, and arent looking for anything fancy. ...the review that mentioned the receptionist with his pants down in front of the tv was soo true...

I didn't really expect much of the hotel as it was really cheap and only had a one star rating. However, the service was great, the receptionists were extremely helpful--definitely added to the experience of visiting Montreal. The location is perfect if you have a car. It's right next to the Mont Royal, which has great views, and a really short drive to the center of downtown and the best cultural ethnic food... though a little too far to walk. There is also a fully stocked kitchen for everyone to use and the staff is very personable and eager to help. Definitely worth the stay!

first of all the women receiptionist not helpful and not accomodating.the building itself need renovation,hallways and badroom are leaking.the room smells. carpet are not vacum,over all the worse hotel i have been.can't be recomende4d at.

I booked this hotel because we were looking for the cheapest one for only one night. It had gotten one bad review and only one star, so I was a little apprehensive about booking it. I decided to anyway and I'm very pleased with the results. The man at the front desk was one of the nicest people I have ever encountered! He gave us a map of the city and suggestions on what to see and do. It was clean and cute and they did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. Highly recommended.

Don't stay here!! This was a dirty under maintained hotel.

Somewhat rundown compared to pictures, and I've never had such an oddly shaped shower (trapezoidal, with a very narrow end and an only slightly wider opposite end). Could not put both elbows out without hitting one wall or another in shower. Reserved a no-smoking room, one was "not available" upon arrival. Only good thing: room was quiet and towards the back, away from busy arterial street.

The other reviews made it sound ok, but it was sub-standard. Keep looking around, there are many nice places in Montreal.
