Laietana Palace - Barcelona

Das Hotel liegt an der Seite der Altstadt die man so gut zu Fuss erreichen kann - leider an einer der Hauptstrassen. Die Zimmer zur Strasse (ich hatte eins im 1. Stock) sind demenstprechend laut, wirklich laut! Das Zimmer war okay, wobei schon leicht ramponiert aber sauber. Bad war sauber und recht modern. Die ganze Einrichtung des Hotels war mit Sicherheit mal sehr chic, allerdings sind die Tage etwas vorüber und es fehlt am gewissen Charme das ein Hotel ausmacht. Das Personal glänzte nicht gerade mit Höflichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit und kam ziemlich gestresst und unorganisert rüber - allerdings hat man im Normalfall auch nicht zuviel mit ihnen zu tun.

The hotel was adequate, staff were friendly and helpful. However I expected more from a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was over priced. Bathroom was good, room was acceptable but not 4 star.If I were staying one night on business it would be fine, but would not recommend as a holiday stay.

The hotel is right next to a metro station, and is at the center of the Gothic Quarter. It is easy walking distance to Cathedral, Las Ramblas, many museums, ports, beaches, and shopping area.

I booked this hotel for a night while we were waiting to board our cruise ship the next day. The staff at check-in was completely honest with the fact that they only had one room with a double bed left and that it was "quite small" and offered us a larger room with two twin beds. We declined and took the "quite small" room anyway. The room itself was laughable, about a foot on each side of the bed, with a bathroom almost as large. However, we didn't stay in our room much so it didn't matter. The location of the hotel is excellent, within walking distance to anything you might want to visit in this part of Barcelona and just a short taxi ride to the pier for our cruise ship. The staff was always helpful and honest with us, recommending great restaurants, giving directions, and getting a taxi for us to go to our ship. I recommend this hotel if you don't mind small, european style rooms and are just looking for a place to stay.

The hotel was nice and quaint. Services was excellent. The room left much to be desired, however. It wss in what had been an attic, so the only windows were like skylites that were at an angle. The queen sized bed took up at least 75% of the room with little space for even walking or dressing. Closets, for a stay of more than the one night we had, were virtually non-existant and would pose a problem. Also, there was no draw space in the room.

Just as advertsed on their site, well appointed lobby and room. Outstanding service.

The Laietana Palace has a wonderful location, a short distance to Santa Maria del Mar in one direction and the Cathedral, Picasso Museum in the other, close to great places to eat, and close to the metro. Its also close to Barcelonetta and the waterfront, and the great Maritime Museum if you like to walk. Via Laietana is very noisy so ask for a room in the back--ours overlooked the Roman walls. The staff was very nice and helpful. The computer in the business center was very helpful for staying in touch with home. The room was small but the bed was comfy. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but there was a good coffee house just up the street. One warning--we walked very late one night up Via Laietana, down the Ramblas, and on Carrer Ferran at about 12:30 pm or 1 pm. Prostitutes were already working the Ramblas, but there was a lot of Guardia presence. However, we had to fend off pickpockets on Carrer Ferran. Better to stay away from Gothic quarter side streets at night. Via Laietana felt very safe, as did Via Argentina and the Passeig del Born.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the lobby after arriving early from our cruise ship and return around lunch time to check into the room early. Clerk seemed anxious to accommodate our request to check in early. The room facing a busy street was not too noisy for us, but wouldn't want the windows opened while sleeping. When asked, they provided a key to the safe with a deposit and an electrical outlet converter for my battery charger. Room was spacious for european standards and well maintained. Mini bar was reasonable and handy. Would recommend to others.

Located next to Bari Gotic, one block from Metro stop Jaume I. Clean. Great service (a la concierge) from desk with local problems. Bed was very firm, and room somewhat stuffy. Noise level was low. Don't expect much "period" atmosphere. Remodeling has removed almost all vestiges of early 20th century decor.

The hotel front desk staff were rude. The location was good. No ironing facilities available. The shower drained was clogged. Hotel room was okay. The noise didn't bother me in the slightest.

Excellent ubication, central placed, metro station is meters away, as well as the port, museum, plazas and shopping. I really liked it. Vicnunez

We like to walk alot and this hotel was very well located. The metro was also just down the street. Staff was very helpful and we found the hotel to be reasonably quiet despite it being located on a major street.

Good location, friendly staff, all OK, apart from the smallest room I have ever seen! The other rooms appeared normal sized, but there was at least one on each floor that were barely big enough for a single bed, but they managed to squeeze a double in - you had to climb over the bed to get to the bathroom.

great hotel which is in a really good location for the Zoo, La Rambla etc. Staff were very nice and helpful. We arrived earlier than check in and they allowed us to leave our bags there and then took them to our room when it was ready. Room was pleasant and although it was on the road the noise was not unbearable and did not stop us getting to sleep. The only other thing was the noise/vibration from the metro (which I presume was underneath us) but this did not run through the night and again was not any real disturbance. The room was very nice and they even checked if we wanted a double bed or two singles on arrival. I would definately go back if I returned to barcelona.

this hotel was great for the money. the AC worked really well, we had a large room, great shower, centrally located, staff was really really nice and very helpful. it was a clean hotel with crisp white linens and a 10-15 walk to everywhere. the lobby had free internet access and there was a Starbucks 3 blocks away. the famous Farmer's Market was 3 blocks away and we ate at the market every day for breakfast and lunch. low marks on: the hotel was on a very busy main street and it was kind of noisy. however, we were 3 blocks away from the Ramblas so we didn't have that kind of "tourist" noise- it was "street/car" noise. i thought it was a great hotel for the money. i am a little sensitive about noise while i am trying to sleep but my 22 year old niece loved the hotel and the street noise didn't bother her at all. i think i would've preferred a hotel down a small alley but then again, it's a cobblestone city and it's difficult to get to those hotels via taxi. this hotel was easy getting in and easy getting out. i would cringe at those people dragging their suitcases down the narrow cobblestone alley streets.

Hotel staff was very professional, yet friendly and helpful. Hotel is located on a main street, but it is not noisy and within walking distance of the Ramblas and the harbor. It also has a business center with Internet access which allows you to check e-mail and flight schedules. Good value!

Laietana Palace was amazing. The front desk attendants were extremely helpful. We would ask them for information and they would do anything to find out for us. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was in a perfect location- close walk to the beach, Las Ramblas, and the train station. I most definitely recommend Laietana Palace!

Great location....very helpful staff...was surprised that breakfast was not included. Other than that, it was great!R

The hotel staff was pleasant, the room was clean (although very small) and the location was AWESOME. However, we did not have water for two of the five days we were there, and we were not offered any rebate for that. Unfortunately, not being able to take a hot shower after travelling for more than 12 hours really put a damper on our trip. But overall, the hotel was nice.

The location of the Hotel was great very loacl to all the things you would want to see and to the Metro and Buses to all locations. Unfortunately the rooms were relatively small, which is OK. The main problem was the temperature. There was airconditioning but this had little or no effect and the tempratue was far too high. If you opened the windows the traffic noise was far too great.

Service was good; The staff spoke English, which was very helpful for us. Every question and need was addressed promptly and with courteous attention. The front desk even took care of the mailing of our postcards; very nice! The location along Via Laietana is very convenient if you plan to tour the Barri Gotic of Barcelona; and it's just a block away from the nearest Metro station. But we had a first floor room which was quite nosy, even with the windows shut tight. Our advice: make sure to request a room above the fourth floor. That way the traffic won't be so much of a distraction. Otherwise, the service and cleanliness were quite to our satisfaction.

Nemt og ligetil hotel, med perfekt beliggenhed i forhold til både den gamle bydel og metro. Super for den der vil snuppe en café-morgenmad og hurtigt afsted til dagens aktiviteter, og for den der vil nyde byens aften-tilbud og de mange tapas-steder.

Hotellet ligger centralt, lige mellem Barri Gotic og Ribera og man kan nå havnen på 5 minutter og stranden på 15 minutters gang. Værelset var fint, ikke prangende, men der er hvad der skal være, og selv om det lå på 1. sal, generede trafikken ikke det fjerneste, når vinduet var lukket. Personalet var flinke - vi skulle først flyve sent om aftenen og fik lov at efterlade kufferterne i receptionen. Gratis - hurtigt - internet.

J'ai demandé une chambre calme à mon arrivée et on m'a donné une chambre 601 près de la machinerie ascenseur avec fenêtre impossible à ouvrir et chaleur intenable en plein mois de Mars. Très déçu aucun confort d'un 4* tout juste 3*, chambre topr peitte, bruit....

Hotellet er handicapvenligt, hvilket jeg havde brug for (bruger kørestol). Receptionen var meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Rengøring og værelsesservice var ikke i top.

Laietana Pallace Hotel är prydligt, rent och frächt. Personalen var mkt hjälpsam, professionell och trevlig. Läget är mkt bra; nära från Placa de Catalunya där bussar från flygplatsen anländer och max 10 minuters promenad till Estcio Franca (tågstationen varifrån man åker till Frankrike som vi gjorde). Vi promenerade till det mesta även om det finns tunnelbanestation precis vid hotellet. Det enda som vi inte tyckte var bra var att AC:n på rummet inte var särskilt effektiv.

Hotell med mkt bra läge i dom gotiska kvarteren, nära till både hamn och centrum. Tunnelbana utan för dörren. Fick dom känslan av att dom böt ned mitt rum när jag bara vad en trots att jag bokat dubbelrum. Mitt rum var pyttelitet, men med god standard.

Helt greit hotell midt i sentrum. Kort vei til havnen, stranden og handlegater og shopping rett utenfor

Mye bråk fra både barn (natt 1) og ungdommer som festet (natt 2). Veldig lytt. Vindu mot "sjakten" forsterket støyen.

la première chambre qu'on m'a donné était minuscule et donnait sur une cour intérieur lugubre, après demande j'ai obtenu sans difficulté une autre sur l'avenue un peu bruynate mais mieux sans comparaison !

L'hôtel est très bien situé. facile d'accès en voiture et un parking en face. Petit déjeuner très complet.

Très bien situé à coté du metro. L'eau de la douche n'était pas stable (passait du chaud au froid sans interruption). Un seul oreiller par personne.

Hôtel super bien placé, en plein centre, on a tout fait à pied, ce qui est appréciable pour un week-end long, juste à côté des rues piétonnes pleines de resto & de bars. Propreté de la chambre parfaite, pas très grande mais confortable, et à 20 min de l'aéroport en taxi. J'y retournerai sans problème, bonne adresse hôtelière à Barcelone.
