Best Western Carriage Inn - Sherman Oaks

Wir (2 Erwachsene + 1 Kind) waren im August 2009 für 2 Nächte in dem Hotel und es war alles rund um ok. Das Hotel liegt recht zentral (wenn man ein Auto hat- was man braucht in LA) und war sauber. In der Nähe gibt es eine Mall inc. Kino. Jogging auf der anderen Seite des Highway war möglich und der Pool war nett bei der Hitze. Das Hotel ist für eine paar Nächte sehr zu empfehlen.

Dieses Motel koennen wir nur empfehlen. Unser Zimmer war gross und geraeumig, angenhem ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Es fehlten weder Kaffeemaschine, Kuehlschrank und Mikrowelle, noch Fernseher und Weckradio. Ebenso gefreut haben wir uns ueber den Zimmersafe. Das Badezimmer war sehr sauber und es gab jede Menge weiche Handtuecher. Der Service war ausgesprochen gut. Ein Beispiel Unsere Kaffeemaschine war defekt. Bereits Zwei Minuten nach unserem Anruf erschien ein Mitarbeiter kontrollierte das Geraet und tauschte es aus. Ebenso guenstig ist die Lage des Hotels. Sehr verkehrsguenstig und trotzdem nicht uebermaessig laut.

Clean, comfortable, well lit, good parking hotel. No ice in the ice machine and lack of towels in the room, but room service brought the towels immediately upon contacting them. Overall, really enjoyed our stay and will probably stay there again when in the area.

This is a good hotel. Nice people -- clean and quiet (even though near freeway). Very, very convenient. You need to go to Ventura Blvd for breakfast (Denny's isn't good). Otherwise, great staff and great choice!

The Best Western Carriage Inn was easy to get to from the freeway turnoff. The staff was courteous and attentive. The room was very clean. The setup nicely done. The door frames had many coats of paint and some pealing. That is my only negative observation. I would stay here again.

I will stay here again next visit, very quiet and the nicest staff we had on our 10 day vacation in the LA California area. Recemend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay. Close to freeway also.

It's a large hotel and the street noise is contained if you keep the windows closed. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. I enjoyed my stay.

None of the vending machines worked, the air conditioning was weak and couldn't really keep up with the outside heat. Early in the morning a leaf-blower was out and about making sure no one slept in too long. Other than that, it was great.

The hotel was safe, convenient, and spotless, would highly recommend.

Hotel was very nice moderate hotel room. This is not a resort style hotel, so go in with basic room expectations and you will be very satisfied. Good room for the money overall, very clean. Bed had some dips so mattress could use replacing. But would recommend and use the hotel again, especially if you have busy plans and just looking for a good clean place to sleep.

This hotel was way beyond my expectations. The hotel and grounds were absolutely spotless, staff was very nice and professional and a real good deal on hotels.com. I was there because our son moved to Sherman Oaks,so we stayed there about 10 days and we were very pleased. I would definitely go back there the next time we visit our son. Good value for what you pay - clean room, decent location, basic amenities. Would stay again.

Kudos to all the staff. They could teach a course on customer service! From the maintenance workers to the manager, they made my short stay a great one! And the staff at the Denny's on the property were wonderful as well. The next time business takes me to that area, this hotel will be my choice.

Everything was great! Easy access to all locations. Only difficulty was parking, but it is LA and parking is always difficult.

We intended to stay one night; however, we stayed 3 instead.

Front desk service was excellent, rooms and property were extremely clean and well maintained.. great customer service from staff...good stay.

Room was clean. Walls are thin, could hear next door guests talking. Luckily they had the decency to be quiet after certain hours. Friendly staff. Convenient location.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The room was attractive. When we returned later at night though, parking was scarce.

We needed a place to sleep between events that weekend. We had a nice room, few frills, but clean and comfy. Nice bed. The only problem was that we couldn't figure out how to turn on the refrigerator. We didn't call down for help because we were rushing out the door, so we can't blame them if it didn't work. All in all, a nice stay.

The hotel met our needs for visiting Universal Studios and the surrounding area. The room was clean/comfortable and convenient to the areas our family wanted to visit.

The hotel was very clean. No problems, no noise. It was a good experience. Pool and Spa were very clean. I liked the location of the hotel right off the freeway. Gas station across the street and Dennis restaurant in the hotel. The hotel was close to universal studios ( 10 min away approx ). and 35 min away from Long Beach. I definitely recommend this hotel.

We have stayed there before. Anyone would be satisfied with it. The value was good and we stayed in the newer "tower" section which is very nice. It is very convenient to the freeway. It was a little larger than we are used to.

We only stayed briefly one night on the way from Arizona to San Francisco, but we did take a walk around the parking area to stretch our legs and the room and grounds seemed well maintained, lots of lighting and enclosed on three sides, people walking about on the way to pool/spa, restaurant, etc. Seemed very safe. The room itself was quite large and we liked the air conditioner placement such that it does not blow directly on you at night. Our room was not too far from the street but we did not hear any street noise. The back of the property is actually closest to the freeway, so not sure about freeway noise for those rooms.

This particular inn is better than I expected expecially for the price. The hotel discount I got was a pretty good deal..The only negative comment I have was that the elevator is old and slow. It needs to be updated.

This was an excellent hotel. We stayed for 5 nights. The grounds were well kept, the rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and professional. The Hotels.com rate made this an extremely good deal and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

the only thing I didn't like was no continental breakfast (which really isn't a big deal because the price for the hotel was awesome). The main thing was that our room was positioned halfway from the main road and halfway from the freeway so I would be waken up at night constantly by speeding motorcycles or trucks etc. I also think that the window and door weren't sealed ( there was a half inch gap in the window) and that added to it.

for the money paid it is very good hotel, located right off the freeway.

Price I paid was expensive for what I consder to be a very weak three star rating. 1960's motel facility with clean but smaller rooms. Hotel staff was great...couldn't be nicer or do more. I'm used to more value for the price I paid....but hotels are expensive in Santa Barbara. Given how expensive things are in SB...it could have been worse.

This hotel was fine for a quick LA weekend getaway. The flooring seemed a little old but the bed was actually extremely comfortable and I never heard any neighbors.

It was very clean and overall a nice place to stay. The pool and hot tub were a nice extra. It was very convenient for all of our needs and we would stay there again in a second!

This is a great place to stay in the Sherman Oaks area although it is right next to the freeway if you need to get to other parts of L.A. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were extremely clean. The only negative was that the room service was from the Denney's next door, and one evening when I dialed the room service number, no one answered. Overall, though, a good experience.

This hotel and location met our needs for one night. Flew into LAX and wanted a place to spend the night traveling North. Didn't want to be right next to the airport and wanted to move out of the 405 morning traffic so selected this location in Sherman Oaks. Our accomodations were fine. Middle aged facility right next to the freeway. Could potentially be noisy if your room faced the freeway--ours didn't. Comfortable bed, okay bathroom, very clean. Good for a 12 hour stop-over.

Price great, location very close to Universal and Hollywood and not to far from Six Flags, comfy. I was happy with our stay.

Room wasn't too bad. Ample space and the mini-fridge was a surprise. Biggest complaint was the horrendous parking lot. Extremely small, no room to manuever, plus the spaces were puny. That may just be a California thing, though.
