Parc St. Charles - New Orleans

Bedarf dringend einer Sanierung der Zimmer, vor allem einer Entsorgung der überaus verschmutzten Teppiche.

I was a little ify about this hotel after reading the reviews but I was very suprised when we arrived. It's in a classic New Orleans style which if you haven't been here before hotels have narrow hallways and bend every which way. The room was very large compared to the other two places I have stayed. The room was very clean and the shower actually had water pressure! It was perfect for us because we were traveling with our new puppy who needed to go out frequently and there is a park right next to the hotel. PERFECT! Bourbon street is about a 5-10 minute walk. I really loved staying here.

I was so disappointed in this hotel that I am also contacting the manager for this location. The hotel and the room was dirty, when I tried to get additional pillows and blankets I was told there were none left. The vallet service kept my car outside the front of the hotel for two hours before taking it the the garage. My husbands car sat outside for at least three hours before it was taken to the garage. I asked for a new hairdryer because the one in the room broke, it took 45 minutes and several reminders for it to arrive. The shower in my room was difficult to use because it was broken. The hotel is being completely redone and this was not stated on the website. I am very disappointed. I could go on and on, but I think you have my point.

Lighting in the room was too dim for reading or working. AC noise was excessive. Restaurant was not "in business." Valet parking was very good, but cost more than one-third what I paid for the room.

We got in late and were worried about being able to check in. We got in no problem. Fyi Parking is around the building which for weekend was fine, but everything seemed to be metered parking. The place definately not your cookie cutter hotel. It was beautiful. No in-house restaurant, (it is being renovated) but it is about 2 blocks from everything. We enjoyed it!

Over all, I was more than pleased with the Parc St Charles -. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Going through the bar togettothe elevators reminded me of boutique hotels in NYC - in a quirky good way.

Some of the staff is not professional they have nasty attitudes. Not all of the staff is like this just some of them.

I loved this place and will be back. However, the only problem was the lady at the front desk at check in. She was unwilling to help people at check in, i.e. someone didn't know who he booked with, and she told him to wait until all other customers had checked in before she would look for his name. We asked if the valet parking was covered and safe, and she said 'I guess' with a slight attitude. She was pretty worthless, and obviously wasn't there for her customer service skills. Other than that, I would totally recommend it.

Room was nice.But toilet leaked and refilled a lot, could not turn off over head light on bed,had to unplug it.Shower did not get hot.No remote control for the TV. No extra pillows for bed.

The hotel staff was very nice. The room wasn't grand but it was a nice room. The hotel looks like they were doing some renovations and the pool was a joke. Great location did't have a problem getting to places. Would stay there again for the money.

Tired property, but a great value with a good location. Don't expect much. Remember to call for your car from the valet at least an hour before you need it. The restaurant is currently (summer 2009) vacant.

You can do alot worst. I was a littel nervous, but you get what you pay for. The hotel is not a flea bag, but you can do alot better. If you only want to come in to New Orleans and experience the Night life - I would say stay here. If you are coming with your girlfriend or wife - spend a few extra dollars for a better hotel. This is the kind of place a single man would stay or a group of friends who want a cheap place to crash, but want some level of comfort. On scale from 1-10 the hotel is a 6.

In a great location but in need of some updating and TLC!

Celing of room leaked all night, were not allowed to move to another room, bathroom shower had a hose that came down from the floor about dripping black water. bed was ok, right down town with no parking anywhere, valet cost 30 bucks

Two blocks from French Quarter adjacent to Bourbon Street, 5 minute walk to convention center/waterfront/aquarium = GREAT LOCATION! About $100 less than the hotels my colleagues stayed at. Sheets, pillows, and bed were okay, few amenities (including no breakfast and the restaurant is closed, but worth the savings to buy breakfast at Starbucks). Cons were that the toilet ran constantly, TV from neighboring room can be heard through the walls, and the shower was difficult to figure out how to use and then the spray was uncomfortable.

Small hotel great location..Front desk staff very friendly and helpful... Resturant Closed ( looked like it might not re open) Room decor dated but clean/Bathroom clean Lobby did smell of smoke due to proximity of bar just adjacent to check in area.

For the price, the room is great! Very clean and well kept. Only downsize was walking through the bar to get to the elevator and the blanket had a cigarette burn from the previous person who tried to hide it.

Just a ten minute walk (if that far) from the French Quarter and a great bargain. This is a no-frills business traveler's hotel, but the rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet (sometimes hard to find in New Orleans) and the price is right. Also convenient to the museum/warehouse district. The rooms make a great resting place in a busy city.

I was very surprised to find this hotel was clean, and roomy, and the staff were very nice. I had read reviews saying various negative things about it, but only found one thing wrong...and that was how long some other visitors were. For some reason, there were 2 rooms close to ours, that were very loud late into the evening. Other than that, it was great. It is within walking distance of Canal and Borboun.

There is not much of a lobby in this hotel. As soon as you walk in the door you smell smoke. Reason being is the bar seems to be part of the lobby (even though they have a door to separate it) I did not expect that experience considering the hotel is located in a busy and upscale area of the city. Hotel defiantly needs a complete make over. It has a lot of potential, but not sure if they really care. The guest service personnel was extremely slow and non appreciative of me or other customers. Overall, it is not even close to the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, but with a little effort this could be a great hotel.

When I got in my room it looked somebody was already staying there. There were dirty cups and open soda cans. All the towels were dirty and one bed wasn't even made up. It was really horrible.

Check in was 4:00 pm I got there early figuring they would see me waiting in their terribly small lobby, sat there for 2 hours until 4:00 pm watch guest-after-guest check in before 4:00 pm kept asking about my room they kept say a few more minutes. I got the key for my room about 45 minutes after 4:00 pm. Elevator was very slow - had to go 3 floors up and back down to get ice and I was close. Its a good walk to the french quarter and kind of isolated at night

This hotel was in a convenient location and away from the crowds. Trolley car just outside the front door was a plus. The room was clean and comfortable.

Nice and clean room, good for the price. Only downside was that guests have to walk through a smoky bar to get to the elevator/stairwell.

We valid parked our car at the hotel and we were walking down the street and we saw our car driving by, that was the only thing, we went back to the hotel and they said they had mixed up the tags but they adjusted it now, but other than that the people were very nice, I would stay again but the only thing I would probably think twice about valid parking!

Our stay at Parc St. Charles was a pleasant. We were comfortable. The elevator was a little slow and there was renovation going on. But overall it was great.

Our room was okay, but some of the others in our party had dirty, sticky carpet, and generally their room was unclean and uncomfortable.

The hotel is well located and was not expensive... for that same reason, it was PACKED and there was only one person working at the front desk - or anywhere, really. He was nice, but it was just impossible to get good service. Even though we requested a non-smoking room online, we were stuck on a smelly nasty and dark smoking room. We had tried to call earlier to make sure we had a good room, but the same one person that works at the front desk answers all phones from guests and public. They moved us to a non-smoking room the next day and that helped, but it was still a frustrating experience. By the way, the hotel is going through renovation, so even though it was supposed to include breakfast, there was no restaurant service available.

Pleasant, clean room excepet for trolley car- but be aware all you smokers -- we never received the ashtray we asked for upon check-in.

This hotel was on the cheap side and a good stay. It was close to the French Quater and in a fairly safe area. The carpets were a little wet-maybe still from Katrina I don't know. Some of the carpets in the hall way looked slightly damaged but nothign overly disguesting or annoying. We weren't really there a lot and it was great for when we were. The only complaints is the maid service woke us up early a couple of times and the maid servic also threw away a souvenier cup of mine but not my boyfriend's. Besides that I really enjoyed the stay and would definetly stay here again. The price for the room is good.

The room was great but the bathroom was not. The first night the toilet overflowed and it took 2 days to get it completely cleaned up. There is no sign in the bathroom telling you the shower has a special way of working you need to see that notice at the front desk by asking. Location is great, right on St Charles trolley line is very convient and only 4 blcs from Canal street trolley as well. Neighborhood felt safe. To get to the elevator for the room we had to pass through the "smoking" bar the first 2 days since the other elevator was not working. The restaurant was closed and there was no continental breakfast but a great coffee shop just around the corner.

the location was great for the particular weekend of mardi gras that i was there, parade at our door. i have stayed here before and it is ok for the price and location. some of the desk staff were nice and helpful and some were not. we had very limited hot water but i didn't have time to complain about it so i don't know what they wouild or could have done about it. it is close to the cosino and casino parking. i would stay again but there are definitely better hotels in new orleans.

Even though it was Mardi Gras, there was no real excuse for the utter lack of cleanliness exibited by this hotel. After the first day of compaining that we did not get clean towels, it went down from there. The next two days the room did not get cleaned at all, let alone get clean towels. We were even promised at one point that the housekeeping supervisor was on the way up, but she never showed after two calls. In fact, she snuck out for the day before we gave up and went to the desk looking for her. The location of this hotel was right on the parade route and easy walk to everything we wanted to see or do. Someone needs to buy this property and gut it. Start over and this could be one of the best old hotels on the strip.

Really nice looking room and location. The parade goes right by your window and it's close to wherever you want to go. They'll even hold your bags while you check out and go to the parades. The only bad moment we had was when we checked in, the toilet was clogged and we had no towels. They came and fixed the issue and the remainder of the stay was smooth.

The hotle's location was actually very convenient to bourbon street, the only problem was that it is right on the parade route; which doesn't seem like a problem until one is trying to park. There is NO parking at the Hotel, even though it claims there is, and one needs to park in a lot around the parade, which costs an average of $20 for every 12 hours. Once parked, then one has to find a way to actually cross the parade route to reach the hotel, which is difficult when weighed down by luggage and can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to do, depending on the parade. The hotel was adequate for the price and i have no objections on it necessarily, but the parking situation was a nightmare.

The Parc St Charles Hotel was a nice hotel for the price I paided. It was a little older than I expected, but overall my two day stay was well worth the price. The hotel is conveniently located in walking distance to most of the major attractions along the Riverwalk and French Quarters. This was a hughe plus since parking in the New Orlean area is a hot comodotity. The Hotel's valet service parked my car upon arrival and would bring it up for use as needed, which wasn't necesary until check for me since everything I wanted to do and see was just blocks from the hotel.

The hotel was better than I expected after reading some other comments. We are going to stay there again in the summer when we go back to New Orleans with our 20 yr old & 18 yr old. The employees were pleasant & helpful. Wish they had breakfast though.

We have stayed in the Parc St. Charles twice and have enjoyed our stay both times! The location is excellent- 4 blocks from Bourbon, 6 or so from both the superdome and Harrah's/ Riverwalk. There is a quaint square park adjacent to the hotel as well! The staff at the hotel was both helpful and friendly and the facilities were always clean. Before I booked the hotel, I noticed many posts concerning lack of hot water. We never had a problem with hot water. I think the faucet is confusing and those who didn't get hot water simply could not figure out the shower faucet. Overall great experience!
