Hotel Place D'Armes - Montreal

Sehr angenehmes Hotel mit europäischem Flair. Gut das Restaurant, etwas unbefriedigend das "Continental Breakfast" im Bistro. Das Hotel gehört zu einem Verbund mit weiteren ebenfalls empfehlenswerten Häusern wie das "Vieux Port".

The staff was great. Always helpful. We actually had our car window broken by a thief over at the Biodome prior to arriving at the hotel. The hotel staff watched over the car and vacuumed all the broken safety glass from the back seat of the car. The hotel has a very European feel and it has the best location in terms of proximity to old Montreal and new Montreal. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a great stay in Montreal.

The Hotel Place D'Armes has very nice spacious rooms with nice amenities like a complimentary umbrella, free wine and cheese and bread, a luxurious bath tub and a huge glass shower. The breakfast buffet has delicious French pastries.

I had been to Montreal before but never with my family or to Old Montreal. After a bit of research I came up with Hotel Place D'Arms and thought I'd take a chance. What a great hotel: The room was in excellent condition and very clean (highly important to me and my wife) and comfortable. We got an Executive Suite and I found it to be very good value for the money. The service was very good, too. While the hotel's restaurant is lauded by many, we wanted to go out and try someplace else rather than do everything there. The Concierge's recommendations were spot-on and reflected exactly what we had requested. Lastly, the location is terrific...it's a short walk around Old Montreal to the Notre Dame cathedral, the docks, Museum of History, etc. I'm usually pretty jaded and hard to please, but Hotel Place D'Arms hit the mark and I can confidently (and highly) recommend it to others.

Hotel Place D'Armes is in a very convenient location. The hotel itself was excellent as far as cleanliness, comfort and style. Jose' our concierge was wonderful and came through with all of our requests! Recommend to all and will stay again next time we are in Montreal.

We were extremely pleased with our experience at Hotel D'Armes. The front desk staff went out of their way to give us directions or help us get tickets. The room was spacious and the location is central to everything. The breakfast and happy hour were a nice addition.

We had booked a king bed, but were given a queen bed. When I pointed this out (nicely), they fixed it but offered no apology. We requested a paper each morning, but on 2 of the 4 mornings did not receive one. Again, no apology. Otherwise, great location, nice rooms, so overall a decent value. Marco, the concierge, was very helpful for making reservations and recommendations.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The location - perfect. Half a block up from the conference center, and just a few blocks from the old town/waterfront area, but neither congested nor touristy. The room was huge, comfortable, quiet, luxurious. Breakfast (included) was super, the wine and cheese reception absolutely worth taking advantage of (and I'm a wine snob!). The only negative was service from the front desk. As others have noted, it's just not a priority. Paper delivery to room is supposed to be standard, but I had to call the first day to get it. After a blunt lie "papers not delivered to the hotel yet", a paper showed up an hour later. The next day, a paper. The last 4 days, no paper. Oh well. Television not working in exercise room, "we'll send someone right down", an hour later, no one. Oh well. Bottom line, this is a wonderful hotel, great food, super comfortable, even luxurious. Just don't expect a lot from the front desk and you'll be more than pleased.

Very friendly to English speaking visitors. Customer service seems to be a priority.

Extremely convenient location near Old Montreal and the Palais de Congres Convention Center. Surprising spacious rooms for a hotel in an older building. Staff were friendly and courteous. Excellent continental breakfast, and wine and cheese reception from 5-7 each night is also a nice touch. Definitely where we'll return for our next trip to Montreal.

Beautiful hotel in a great area - convenient to the Metro and to all of old Montreal.

The bedrooms are amazing. They have faux fireplaces, huge comfy beds, and come with complimentary wine and cheese in the evening and breakfast in the morning. My only complaint is the plumbing. The toilets in the rooms are tempermental. From not filling up with water to completely overflowing. We experienced it all. We actually had to switch rooms as result. The showers are nicely designed with a normal showerhead and a rainfall showerhead in the middle of the walk-in shower. Unfortunately there wasn't enough water pressure to make the rainfall optimum and you couldn't use both shower heads at the same time. That was disappointing.

Nice view and great location. The wine and cheese each evening was pleasant and servce was excellent.

We absolutely loved our recent stay at the Hotel Place D'Armes in Montreal. The staff was friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful, and the room was lovely. All the sights were within walking distance or easily accesible via the nearby Metro station. Moreover, the neighborhood of Vieux-Montreal (right near the river) is just steps away from the hotel and made for lovely evening walking and dining.

We loved this hotel and it's location. The side walls were brick with high ceilings and 3 floor to ceiling windows facing St. Jacques. The bathroom was spacious with a rain shower as well as the bath. One particularly pleasant experience was our rooms location to the Spa. The scent outside our door was wonderful as if we were having the experience without ever going. I might mention the noise which was only noticable on week days beginning around 6 a.m. when the trucks etc. started their work day. If you are a light sleeper this could be a problem. This could have been the location of our room. We were in building 3. In spite of that we would definitely return again and stay in this room.

This is a nice luxury hotel, in the middle of Old Montreal. You can walk to anything you want to see or visit. Staff was exceptional. The rooms are small compared to large hotel chains but they are very nice.

Staff is kind and courteous to non-French speakers. Concierge is extremely knowledgeable and helpful about Montreal dining and attractions. Superior King room was huge. Liked the morning buffet in the restaurant as well.

Staff was very helpful in setting us up for dinner and finding things to do. The hotel bar is a nice place to hang out. Included in the stay is a wine and cheese happy hour and a nice contenental breakfast and the food at the restaurant is solid. The room was nice size, clean, comfortable, had nice bathroom with a tub big enough for two. The hotel is in a charming historic building, is nicely decorated, and in good condition. Great location in the hart of Old Montreal. We were very happy wioth our stay and would certainly go again.

This hotel lived up to the postiive reviews on this site. It is in an interesting and historical building. The room was a bit small but the renovation of a bank into a hotel makes for interesting architecture. The staff was wonderful - very courteous and helpful. They had great recommendations for places to eat. We wil definitely be back.

Lighting in room is very dark so it may not be suitable for business travelers. Otherwise, you must stay here. Rooms are magnificent, bar is very upscale, restaurant on premises is outstanding.

The one and only problem with the room was that it was small. The bathroom was a good size, but the bedroom didn't have too much space and was occupied mainly by the bed.

This hotel has recently had a major makeover. It is now quite modern in design: the rooms have very modern bathrooms and we had a faux fireplace that was really neat. Our only complaint was the lighting was too low - but for a romantic getaway, that wasn't much of a problem. The bar is also quite hip in its design, but comfortable. The sertice was excellent and the concierge recommendations were spot on. Great value for the money in a wonderful location.

The location of the hotel couldn't be better! It is located right in the heart of the old city and within walking distance of downtown shopping and museum districts. We were very pleased with the accomodations and the service. The rooms are tastefully decorated and appointed with everything one could need. The continental breakfast and wine and cheese reception were quite nice as well. However, the hotel bar is a very popular spot on Thursday nights (close to 600 people) which made it somewhat difficult to get to our room via the elevator. But, the reception staff were great and moved us to a quieter section of the hotel and we were most happy.

The hotel is centrally located in the old part of Montreal near all the important sites plus it is close to the downtown core. Nearly everything a tourist would want to see is within walking distance. The hotel has been beautifully remodeled with a beautiful sharp modern look while still maintaining the original facade of the old bank building. I will stay here again during my next visit to Montreal

This Hotel is "five star" and if a "six" was available there would be no question about the award being given

We loved it...romantic, sexy, great place for a weekend getaway.

We were consistently pleased with everything about this hotel. We had afternoon complimentary wine & cheese, and a wonderful complimentary breakfast. The rooms were spacious, clean and wonderfully appointed. The location in Old Montreal gave us access to great restaurants, galleries and the public transportation. We would go back in a minute, and have already reccomended it to friends.

In the heart of Old town. The rooms and baths are sleek, hip and luxurious. Hotel staff/service is exceptional. Thursday & Sat. nights the lounge seems to be the hottest spot in town-great looking people! RainSpa within the hotel is pure heaven!

j'étais déjà venu et tout était parfait . cette fois , presque : une manifestation quelconque se préparant à l'étage de notre chambre était bruyante et monopolisait le seul ascenceur en service ; c'était le seul ennui de ce séjour "presque parfait" .

Et meget sjarmerende hotel. Gjennomført eleganse. Servicen det beste vi har opplevd. Et absolutt must å oppleve den storslåtte utsikten fra restauranten på takterassen. Den eneste innvendingen mot hotellet er maten som var ganske middelmådig.
