The Kendall Hotel - Cambridge

Boston hat mir weniger gut gefallen, aber das lag wahrscheinlich auch daran, das unsere Reise über die Feiertage ging. Dafür hätte man ewig viel Zeit in diesem süßen, schnuggeligen Hotel verbringen können. Besonders gefallen hat mir die ausgefallen, spielerische aber doch sehr harmonische Dekoration und Innen-Architektur. Allein das Frühstückspersonl war etwas unfreundlich.

Gute Lage, Direkter Metro Anschluss, Saubere Zimmer, nette Atmosphäre

Telefontarif am Telefon weicht vom Tarif in der Hotelmappe (im Zimmer) um Faktor 2 ab ($1 / §2 pro Einheit). Lt Anmeldeformular vor Ort, werden $35, im Zimmerpreis enthalten, für WLAN und Internet (1 Rechner imHotel) sowie für Zugang zum benachbarten Fitnessstudio erhoben. Lt Anmeldeformular sei Studionutzung dann frei; lt Hotelzimmermappe kostet es $12. Besagtes Studio macht aber Samstags bereits um 17h zu (ich kam um 15h an) und hat Sonntags ganz zu. Daher konnte ich nichts überprüfen.

besonders angenehm empfand ich das im Preis inbegriffene, prima Frühstück. Leider gab es das am Wochenende erst ab 8.

This hotel is one of the best ones I ever stay. The staff was super friendly, there was free breakfast (very complete) with free parking (although small some reviewers have exagerated -- I was able to park my 2007 Honda CR-V with no problems). The rooms are very nice, clean and the decor is faboulous. The Red Line subway is literally next door and it takes to Boston in 5 minutes. The hotel is also in a very nice area right next door to MIT.

This hotel was great loved the old fire house them the staff were excellent they took pride in their work and were very friendly and helpful. We liked it so much we made reservations for next month. Parking underground was limited and tight no over size vehicles will fit.

The location was very easy to get to by T. Meeting at MIT was right across the street. Breakfast with hot items of scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast included with room rate was excellent value. The room on the top floor has low ceiling but was otherwise in good conditions.

Smallish rooms but breakfast included and FREE parking make this a pretty good deal.

I would recommend this hotel to ANYONE. I have stayed here before and it was lovely. The service is amazing and the staff is always friendly. Not to mention that the breakfast is always delicious. Going to Boston? Stay here!

I like the convenience of the location in general. Easy access to many stores and eating places. Staff were very nice. Room was clean. It's a home-like hotel.

parking is limited and getting into the basement garage takes skills. If you drive a large car, van, suv don't attempt to park there. My care almost got scratch trying to get back up the ramp. The rest of my stay I used the garage across the street at $23 dollars a night.

I was traveling alone with my daughter looking at colleges. We both felt well cared for and right at home. The breakfast was wonderful. The proximity to the T was wonderful, we never had to get a taxi or rent a car. It was the perfect place for us.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night recently for a quick getaway. We went to blueman group the night before and decided it would be nice not to have to go home after (I live about 45 mintues outside of Boston). The thing I liked most about it was its location, literally 2 seconds off of the Kendall Tstop, which is very convienent. There's a legal seafoods and starbucks across the street, and au bon pan is down the street, along with quiznos and 7-11. I know my way around Boston, and while this isn't right on Tremont St. or in Harvard Square, I liked it better because it is a small hotel in a very quiet area, even though it might be a little louder when school is in session since its right in the middle of MIT. The breakfast was pretty good considering it was free. Fruit salad, decent bacon, crappy eggs and coffee, etc.It was better than typical free breakfasts I've seen before. We're planning on coming back to the Kendall for New Years, so how bad can it be right?

If you're looking for something out of the ordinary this is the place. It combines the latest technology and awesome antique type furnishings. I stayed with a group of girls for a weekend and we all loved the hotel. And we all slept great too. The beds are wicked comfy.

The hotel is clean and the rooms are large and well appointed. It is located next to a "T" stop so it is convenient to most of the city. A full breakfast buffet is included in the price.

Beautiful, charming hotel. Had room 210 I think and loved every piece of furniture/decorations. Great free breakfast each morning. Rooftop terrace had a wine hour some evenings. Helpful front desk staff. Comfy bed. Loved all the collections/Americana/fireman/dalmatian/patriotic decorations. My husband and I vacationed and saw all the sites of Boston (and Cambridge like Harvard) for 7 days and loved the location of The Kendall. Walk a few steps to the Kendall stop on the metro line. Get the Charlie Ticket 7 day unlimited metro pass - use the Kendall stop on the red line to go right into Boston.

The Kendall is a great choice for business at MIT and is right next to the T so the rest of the Boston area is accessible. Breakfast and free wireless, a social hour in the evening plus the little restaurant and bar make it a delightful place to stay.

Unique hotel with history and modern convienence blended nicely. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, not a typical hotel breakfast buffet, though staff struggled to keep up with demand as hotel was full due to a wedding party. Staff was very helpful, hotel condition was supurb. Parking lot beneath hotel was tight and small, but hotel was one block from T which was helpful. Nice surrounding area, next to MIT.

Old building with charm, but also in very up-to-date shape. Staff was very helpful. Right next to T-stop. Parking below is very convenient, though space in it is tight. Hotel was good about allowing us to park there the rest of the day after checking out. Ideally could have more than one elevator, but we never had to wait too long.

Great hotel, adorable and the restaurant was fantastic. Loved the free parking, did not expect it to be free. Would absolutely stay there again.

Comfortable, great breakfast, helpful recommendations, friendly staff

We stayed at the Kendall for our 20th anniversary. The staff was wonderful, the food great. We were going to be upgraded to a suite, but there was a mix up - the hotel manager put us in a suite for a future stay and comped our dinner. Above and beyond the call -

staff was friendly and helpful. we where just two minute walk to the T red line. the complimentary full breakfast was great.the red line took us directly to park street stop in boston commons, no traffic or parking problems to worry about. and getting to the hotel and leaving the area was thousand times better than trying to drive into the city of boston.

Very nice hotel for the price. Hot breakfest included. Wonderful place to stay and nice to be able to support an independent and Historic hotel. Great location!! Will definitely stay there again.

Friendly staff, great service, amazingly comfortable bed, good neighborhood, clean, very convenient to subway, lovely decor with a bit of a twist. The early morning coffee, available in the lobby before the morning breakfast service, is better than that served with the meal. We stayed four nights and have no complaints. Highly recommended.

We were very impressed with the decor and the cleanliness of the hotel. The history of the hotel was also very interesting. It is one block from the Red Line or close enough to the bridge over the Charles River that we walked to Boston. It has great location. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the staff could not have been more hospitable. We will definately plan to stay there again.

Great hotel, excellent service & location; restaurant small but first class. Ask for a room in the old fire house--they're not like any other hotel you've stayed in. Parking available but a bit tight.

The hotel is across the street from a red line T station - very easy to get to from the airport. The room was clean and very comfortable, and the included breakfast was quite good.

love the americana decor of this hotel. desk help was fantastic as well as room cleanliness and comfort. only wish is ice bin on each floor not just on first.

I really enjoyed the hotel and it's historic 'feel.' The staff were kind and my only complaint was a handicap accessible shower that leaked water onto the bathroom floor. Other than that, the room was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. It was a great location right at the Kendall T stop in Cambridge and very convenient.

Have stayed at the Kendall a couple of times and once for an extended stay. Always feel right at home as soon as I get into my room. The historic building makes staying here an "off-the-beaten-path" experience. Also means that some rooms are small, but always comfortable. Staff is great. In-hotel restaurant is great. Complimentary breakfast is one of the best I've had in US. Can't beat the location right next to subway stop.

Called hotel prior to arrival. Needed a place to park our car for our day trip into Boston and was to arrive way prior to check in. They were so great, they allowed us to park in the basement parking garage for the day, while we saw the sights. When we checked into the room, we were very pleased with the room, was so fun and cheerful. The breakfast buffet, is the best I have ever had that is included in the price of the room. Yummy!

From check-in to check-out this place was better than a home away from home. It was luxurious without being stuffy, the staff was helpful without being overbearing. The decor is unique and the whole experience gives one a feeling of being "on the inside" of something sophisticated. I will definitely be staying at the Kendall again.
