Für kurze Rückfahrten ins Hotel also weniger geeignet.

The hotel was clean and attractive. Unfortunately the location is something to be desired. It is on the island of Murano which is an expensive water bus ride away from Venice. The water buses stop running from most stops on Venice to Murano at around 9pm, which means you must somehow get to the Fondamente nuove stop in order to get back to the hotel at all. Also, there is no 24 hour reception. The doors to the hotel lock at midnight, and they provide you with a gigantic key to open the front door. Unfortunately our key didn't work, so make sure you double check that yours does. We tried unsuccessfully for nearly 30 minutes until we broke down into tears and by knocking loudly on the door were able to wake up an unfortunate woman on the second floor who let us in. This hotel is not for young people, or those people who wish to stay out past 10pm at night.

Bewertet von Julie aus Chicago am Jun 4, 2009
Staying on Murano was great. It was not crowded, especially after people visiting from Venice went back for the day. That being said, much did close when the last boat left for Venice. The hotel itself is really cute, but could use some improvements. The deck sitting areas really were not cleaned or kept up when we were there. The breakfast is really basic, but enough if you go to the grocery, which is close, to get fruit. Our room was a basic room, but we were in the attic, and would not be good for anyone who was tall, as the room was very short. The bathroom was out in the hall, which I knew beforehand, but it was really small, and very hot. Also, there was a huge wet mark that continued to grow and smell like mildew as we stayed, it was disgusting! When we went to check out, there was no one at the front desk, so we had to leave our keys in the room.

The hotel was beautiful in a nice tucked away neighborhood. It was a fair walk to the public boat system and the shower tended to leak into the room. Mostly a comfortable stay. Our room was small and "cozy", but the people were friendly. Remember that many european hotels have much smaller rooms and bathrooms than what a traveler from the USA may be accustomed to. The hotel was very nice. It was however, very hard to find. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was gigantic. We were put in another area away from the original hotel that they own, so our bathroom was bigger than our friends was. The only drawback was we didn't have a phone in our room so we couldn't communicate with our friends who were in the other part of the hotel. The breakfast is not very good at all.

This hotel is suitable if you want a comfortable, quiet base for sightseeing. There are no facilities in the hotel other than your own adequate room. It suits me to get away from the hustle and bustle of Venice and return to the peace and quiet of Murano. Unfortunately there is very little open in the evenings in February so we were without an evening meal on the night that we didn't eat in Venice. The vaporetto and the alilaguna (airport water bus) are just a short walk away. The staff are very helpful and friendly, breakfast is a very basic continental self service on the roof terrace.

Lovely hotel, 4 boat stops away from Venice. The rooms are very small by American standards. The bathrooms are shower only with minimal space for mobility. Decor is classic with European flair. The room has a small television with Italian-only channels; a mini bar and handmade glass chandeliers. The breakfast is composed of small pastries, cereal coffee and juice. I was particularly fond of their cappuccino machine. Lots of fun and great flavor. The neighborhood has lots of shops to learn and shop for Murano glass products

This hotel was the least expensive on our 5-city tour of Italy, but it was the most worth the money! It is a charming little hotel on the island of Murano (just a short vaporetto ride to Venice proper). The street is very quite and it is very close to several glass factories and the Murano glass museum (do go if you have the chance - it's fascinating!). The breakfast is a typical continental, but they do have machines where you can make an espresso, cappuccino and hot chocolate (the hot chocolate was very good) which was different from all the other hotels we stayed in. We were charmed by the beauty of our room (even if the shower was fairly small) and loved the added touch of Murano glass chandeliers all over the hotel. We would definitely stay here again if we were ever in Venice again.

The Locanda Conterie is great for the money, however the room did have a mildew smell. Also the bathroom is not for a large individual. The hotel is located on Murano, which is not Venice proper. For those like myself that know Venice this is not a problem. For those new to Venice it is out of the way. The vaparetto and the Grand Canal of Murano was a short ten minute walk and the Airport red boat makes Museo the first stop.

If you're going to Venice to see the Murano glass and chill in the hotel all day this hotel is perfect. If you plan to go to Venizia island and see San Marco Basilica everyday, not the best hotel. It took 45min and sometimes an hour by water bus to get to and from the city centre. The boat water ride was ridiculously long. And the boats stop at 20:00 some places and 23:00 others. Just decide what you're going to Venice for, relaxation or sightseeing. If its sightseeing you might want to pick a different hotel... The continental breakfast was pretty good packaged croissants, toast, and cereal.

Our room was totally unacceptable. It was the size of a closet in the attic. I'm sure that the rest of the hotel is better, however they were not accomodating to us as to offering us another room. It was on the third floor with no elevator so we had to lug our luggage up all of these stairs, then stay in a room with no window. Not recommended for people who are clostrophobic.

We chose this hotel because it offered a cost effective base for a couple of nights in Venice. The hotel is in good condition and Murano is a beautiful Island with very nice welcoming people. There were a couple of issues with our room which did let our stay down 1. the air conditioning was leaking for the whole stay and made the room smell very damp. I reported it to the reception only to be told that the smell was 'wine' with the implication I had spilt wine on the floor! A towel was put down to soak up the water however this was inadequate and by the second night we ended up having to put cups downs to collect all the water. 2. the hairdryer didn't work. We paid for a superior room, which I have to say did not meet with my expectations. I'm sure for a cost effective solution this is a great hotel - but I think next time I will spend a little more money and stay somewhere else.

This was the first time we'd visited Venice in high summer, and we were so thankful for the efficient air-conditioning in our hotel room that we could retreat to when it all got too much. The room was in a separate annexe a short walk from the hotel, well decorated in typical venetian style with a Muranese chandelier, and a lovely spacious modern ensuite bathroom. The main hotel was well provided with a terrace area and an air-conditioned breakfast room, the staff were always helpful, the continental breakfast was adequate if not exciting. Murano was much less crowded than Venice too, and quieter. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return there ourselves.

The directions given to arrive were not sufficient. The room was very small and the bed was not at all comfortable. My wife and I have minor allergies, but never in our lives have we had them act up as much as we did here! We both have issues with mold and we both had rather severe allergic reactions to the room, could be because it is covered with fabric, dusty and small. The island of Murano is a pretty nice place, however, once again they do not give you sufficient information about boats to get to and from the hotel. The breakfast was very poor and not nearly the quality I would expect for the price I paid. Very unfortunate, because we had very high expectations.

Everything about this hotel was outstanding except for the location (if spending a lot of time in Venice). The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very nice inside and has 3 outside courtyards. It's in Murano, just off the mainland of Venice. It was hard to find places to eat, drink, etc in Murano after 3p-5p. They do not have glass blowing on the weekend!! The water taxis are difficult to figure out at first and can be expensive so factor that in prior to booking. A 24hr pass was about 21 euros each. Compared to Venice hotels it was still a great value.

The details in the location was that it could be seen from the vaportta stop. Yes it was able to be seen by air only, it was located in some back streets. The room was dark and due to the material finished walls had a strange smell which did improve with the window fully open. If in high season with the air conditioning runing I think it would be a real problem, either damp is behind the material or water from bathroom did not escape. Shower had to be held while showering, toilet seat needed to be replaced due to none cleaning. Morning self service breakfast consisted of inside seating of nine very cramped seating. Breakfast was ok if you got there early, as milk and table seating ran out before 8 am. Smoking area was avilable with extra tables but not laid out. Tables in smoking area was under cover but exposed to the elements on one side and during the rain cold wind expreinced during our stay not to be endured by the faint harted. As Murano is quite this time of the year all but two places after eight to by a drink the hotel offer a cheap bottle of wine five times the shop price available. Overhaul the place was full but I feel mainly due to internet booking with like us people expecting a three star but only experiencing a one star visit. Not again.
