Auf unserer USA Rundreise haben wir leider in vielen teilweise abgewohnten Hotel oder Motels gewohnt. Es sollte immer möglichst günstig sein. Dieses Hotel war jedoch eine angenehme Abwechslung und der absolute Spitzenreiter im Verhälnis Preis-Leistung. Schöner Pool im Innenhof, großes sauberes Zimmer, schönes Badezimmer, alles sauber. Verkehrsgünstig gelegen, eigener Parkplatz, und wirklich günstiger Preis. Continental Breakfast wie überall: Kaffe, Toast, Marmelade. Plus: Waffelstation.

Zimmer grosszuegig und sauber Poolumgebung sehr schoen mit Palmen Fruehstueck ok schnelle Verkehrsverbindung ueber nahe 405 alles in allem preis Leistung ok

Das Zimmer war riesig, ein für amerikanische Verhältnisse ordentliches kontinentales Frühstück (frische Waffeln, Eier, Bagels, Orangensaft etc.), freier Internetzugang in der Lobby, Kaffeekocher und sogar Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen im Zimmer, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten bei Ralph's oder Vons in Gehnähe, Restaurants eher mau, gute Anschlüsse an mehrere Autobahnen (I-405, I-5, I-118), die in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen sind. Freundliches Hotelpersonal, sehr großer Swimmingpool (leider wars im Dezember doch etwas zu kalt dafür).

The room did not have hot showers ! That is the only reason you go to a hotel - sleep and shower - I was very disappointed ! I had to wait for 15 minutes, and had to pressure the receptionist to give us another room to shower - both the days ! It was such an inconveniece !

It's a good hotel, I stayed there 2 nights and I felt really good, the internet connection is not quit satisfactory, in rest I recommend this nice and quiet hotel.

I expected something pretty run down for the price I paid but it wasn't. The room was big, laid out very well, this place had a great pool & courtyard and each room had their own outdoor patio/balcony w/ chairs!!! Aside from the fact that the beds were as hard as the floor and the lobby (not the room) smelled like cat pee...I was very impressed...seriously! When I go back to that area I have full intentions of staying there again.

I spent only one night in this hotel, it was at very good locations and also had a very nice pool. Cant say much about the breakfast as we were late getting up. But overall i personally liked the hotel, considering the price you Pay. Only one which could have been better was the Beds. Beds were making sound as you turn while sleeping. (maybe it was only that room) but me and my wife soo tired that we did not even noticed during our sleep. Only 15 min drive to universal studio.

Staff was nice. Breakfast was okay. Waffle iron worked good. Bed was very firm. Water pressure was painful and shower spicket is only 5'5 so if your taller than that you will have to bend down. This may have just been the room we were in but I'm not sure. Other than that hotel was good for the money. It was in a somewhat decent neighborhood.

Clean grounds, comfortable room, large pool. Hotel is different than photo's show, but room's have nice balcony or patio.

the beds were hard and it smelt like mold when you enter the hotel. the rooms were decent. the bathroom was very clean which was a plus. no stains in the rugs and the bed lines were clean. the continental breakfast was not much but the waffle maker made it bearable. not a great neighborhood but the price is right if you are trying to save a buck! did not go in the pool but it looked very clean.

I have stayed at the Guesthouse Inn numerous times. The A/C is poorly placed as in most hotels, but does a decent job once given time to cool down the room. I usually move the curtains out of the way, crank A/C to max cold and go out to lunch or dinner(BearPit BBQ or El Presidente). The pool is large, clean and nice. The motel is centrally located with easy freeway access. The only problem I ever had was with an old A/C unit in one of the rooms, being difficult to operate(missing knobs and labels). I will continue to stay there and recognize the Guesthouse for what it is, an affordable, clean room.

need improvement

It met our needs - a spacious room in the San Fernando Valley at a good value. Hotel staff was helpful. We felt safe and the hotel was adequate - but definately in need of a face lift. The grounds around the pool were nice. If you don't need too much from your hotel, this is fine and a good value. But, the hallways and lobby are not very inviting and could be a turnoff to guests.

We really enjoyed stay at this hotel, they have really good breakfast, nice pool, close to everywhere, we were satisfied with services at this hotel, clean room, we would recommend this hotel.

I booked 2 rooms for myself and friends. Booked one night, stayed 3. Huge balcony in every room. Gigantic pool. Breakfast in the morning was ok. There were some maintenance issues, but for the price can't expect everything to be perfect. If not for the shady neighborhood I would stay there on regular basis.

The hotel has wifi capability, but if you're in a smoking room, you may have to take your laptop to the lobby to check your mail. Wifi coverage in the rooms is spotty at best, but the beds are very comfortable.

As per reviews we read before deciding on this hotel, the bed was hard; it also had a very noisy plastic rustling sound at every movement. The pool was nice but there is a serious leak in the water system outdoors, with 2 inch deep puddles and a lot of algae and moss growing where it shouldn't. The biggest disappointment was the grounds - "6 acres of gardens" is a blatant lie. The garden and hotel cover about 2 acre2; the rest is asphalt parking lots, and it abuts the 118 freeway.

When I drove to my assigned room, there were cops standing outside of it, and the room next door. There were people sitting on the ground, I think they were being interrogated or something. My motel door was wide open, and it looked like one giant crime scene. I immediately asked for a different room. They had no king bed rooms left, so they downgraded me to a queen, with no reimbursement offer. The room was okay, but the shower drain was clogged. After my ankle-deep shower, I asked the maintainence man if he could unclog it. He did (or so I thought), but the next day it was just as clogged. When I asked for a different room just to take a shower in, they complied, but the drain was just as clogged as my original one was. To top it off, they cut off my hot water in the middle of showering. Defenetely and inconvinience, and very unsanitary.

Guest House has nice oversized clean rooms with large balconies and a clean pool. They have a good continental breakfast, but it ends at 9am, so you need to be up early! The neighborhood isn't the greatest, but there is a nice little inexpensive italian place next store and you are also close to the 405 and 118 freeways. I stay here quite frequently when in town for work and I highly recommend this hotel for the money. My suggestion is to request a room facing the pool, as the main road out front can get loud at times.

As a tourist I chose the hotel from the internet description of accommodation and location. Hotel was great but I was very surprised at the location, busy road, down market. It wouldn't be my choice again simply because of location.

Unfortunately, it was a dump and there was no A/C. In June, it gets very hot in this area and A/C is a must have.

The place is close to Universal Studios. Overall the hotel is okay if your watching your budget.

Place has lots of potential, but the grounds have been let go...they are run down and it could be such a nice place. The room was very spacious, very clean. We had a very large deck that overlooks the pool and rundown landscaping. The sliding glass door out to the deck got stuck on its very old track. Had to have someone from maintenace come to free it and he had to call for backup. The place doesn't live up to its potential.

Do not stay here, it smells funny, no one speaks english and they are rude!

We loved this hotel. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the location was great. It was only 15 minutes away from Magic Mountain. I want to plan another trip to Southern California just so we can stay here again.

For the price, it was a pretty good deal, although I had not realized how FAR it really was from Los Angeles proper. Room was fairly spacious and comfortable but the beds were very creaky and the bathroom floor and tub looked old with peeling paint on the bottom of the door. The shower had tons of water pressure, but hey, I thought we were supposed to be conserving in California. Enjoyed the breakfast with the make your own waffle set-up; they also had cold hard boiled eggs and cereals but it would've been nice if they offered some kind of fruit like oranges or bananas. The large pool and surrounding area was very pretty but no jacuzzi ...oh well. Again, I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on doing typical tourist things around Los Angeles, as the drive was too far.

Bed very uncomfortable couldn't sleep all night. Cheap price is about all this place can provide. Breakfast buffet is okay. Beautiful pool area.

(1)Our coffee pot had dirty water in it and there is no telling how long it had been there becuase when I moved it to wash it myself, I found 8 dead nats under it. (ugh) (2) Found a crusty dead bug stuck in the carpet (3) The room had a very stale odor along with the lobby which I believe they permit smoking? (4) Water drained out of tub very slowly (5) Linen was very old and rough

Hotel decor a little faded in places, breakfast adequate, swimming pool a big plus.Handy for the freeways! Overall though, good value for money.

We booked Guesthouse Inn as we were going to go to Magic Mountain(the hotel location is perfect for that).The Inn itself is very nice and clean.They have beautiful inside garden with a pool.And if you get a room on the first floor you have 2 doors in your room-one is from the corridor and the other one-sliding door/window.I got a room w/kingsize bed on the 2nd floor facing the street.Towards the night I heard weird sound coming out from the corner of the room.My boyfriend told me it must have been a cricket INSIDE the room.I went to the front desk to tell them about it.The guy at the front desk looked at me as I was somewhat crazy and asked maybe it was wind outside (as if I didn't know how wind sounds like). but still he sent a security guy to SPRAY the room.Ok...after the room was stunk up the noise stopped for 10 minutes but then...started over.I went to the front desk again.The clerk told me he could give us another room...but with a queen bed.Neither did he show even little concern nor appologized for the inconvinience. He acted like he did huge "favor" to me by placing me in the room which I believe was of a lower rate. He made me feel like it was my fault that they had insects in their rooms.The room we got was on the first floor facing the garden which was nice.We were completely satisfied with the rest of our stay.

Curtains did not fully covered large patio size sliding door and alot of light came into the room especially the security light.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Great Cost!

good value

Hotel was good and was great for price we paid. Location is very good with Del taco across the street and also 7-11. Room and breakfast was also good.

Hated the water pressure of the shower. It felt to rough too much. Also hated how slow the water drained from the tub. Other than that I was good. Loved the breakfast. It was cool to be able to make waffles for my daughter.

When i reserved the hotel...i was alittle "iffy" or nervous about it. When we arrived, the lobby looked nice and recently updated. The staff was freindly. When we got our room it was very spacious...it wasnt tiny like some of the hotels we have stayed at. There was plenty of room. The bathroom could use alittle work though...it wasnt horrible...just alittle out of date. It think i read in another review that "the beds were probably the cheapest the hotel could get" and that is true. The mattreses were not top of the line...But still not horrible. We mostly got this hotel because it was cheap and it had a continetal breakfast (which saved our family of 4 roughly $40-$50 for breakfast). The breakfast was again nothing amazing, but it was perfect for our little family. They had bagles, danishes, muffins, cold cerial, waffles (you made them yourself), milk, Orange juice, and apple juice, and coffee. Again nothing amazing, but not bad. The kids went to check out the pool and it isnt heated, so the people staying in the winter dont plan on going swimming. Our room had a patio/porch facing the courtyard that consisted of the pool and greenery which was very nice. We were going to six flags magic mountain and this was a great location it was about 15-20 min from the park wich was great. It was a great deal, we will probably stay there again.

Over all the hotel wasn't horrible... cable tv had lots of channels, room was spacious, but that's where the good points end. The bathroom was dirty. The maids need to shave to toilet from time to time. The bed was the worst...If you sat on the edge it would pop up like a see saw. If you wanted to sit up against the headboard and watch tv you would nearly fall to the floor below. Great for a playground ... horrible for a nights sleep.

I would stay here again!

This hotel was nice! I loved the view from my window of the trees and the pool. Everything inside was working and clean. My only complaint is that as soon as you walk in, there is a strong toilet smell. It doesn't smell like someone was in there for an hour per say, it just smells like toilet water. They should use some pine sol for that. Also, the people at the front desk should be a little more knowledgable. I called them for simple directions and they struggled. But everything else was great, they had a nice night guard too...
