Wunderbare Unterkunft, wenn man nah an der Stadt sein möchte und trotzdem Ruhe braucht. Die Apartments des Hollywood Hills Hotel liegen mit traumhaftem Blick in den grünen Hügeln Hollywoods. Es ist ruhig, die Apartments sind sehr geräumig und man kann den Pool im schönen chinesischen Garten mitnutzen. Einziger Schwachpunkt ist die etwas abgenutzte Möblierung der Zimmer und der etwas muffige Geruch, wenn man reinkommt. Aber alles sauber, Betten in Ordnung, netter Service, Frühstück im Magic Castle am Fuße des Hügels ist inclusive.

We stayed just one night at the Hollywood Hills hotel but could have stayed a week. The location is simply the best. This hotel is part of the magic castle and we stayed in the building higher up on the hill which offered views all the way to downtown and was relatively quiet. The pool was great and is also 50 ft. or so from the outdoor bar at Yamashiro japanese restaurant, which we loved. The valet at the restaurant gave us a ride (3 minutes) to the Hollywood Bowl and then picked us up after the show. It was simply the best !! The hotel staff were also excellent.

This is a great budget hotel, within walking distance of all of the major Hollywood attractions, and the metro and several bus lines. However, it is tucked away in the hills, so there are some great views. They are basically these old apartments that have been converted into hotels (although some remain as apartments or condos). The rooms are up a bit of a winding hill from the place where you check in. It is a bit of a hike, but nothing major. The folks at the front desk are also happy to pick you up and drop you off in their van. The fact that the Magic Castle is also right there provides a nice amount of kitchiness.

Nice secluded location. Furniture in suite needs updating, holes in cushions. Bed great. Drain plug in jacuzzi tub broken.

We have stayed here 4 times in the past few years. Beautiful location, convenient, staff is awesome. The rooms we have had have been a bit dated, but clean and in good repair....UNTIL THIS TIME. Everything was wrong with this room. Peeling paint, yellowish nicotine-like brown drips on the ceiling beams, floor linoleum was peeling up in the bathroom, which contained mold spots behind the toilet, no towel bar, a rusty old heater looking thing that was full of bugs, and we had to wear shoes the entire time because the floors were filthy. The kitchenette was clean, but the front smelled like natural gas all night even though the gas stove and oven were off. There was some unknown liquidy white liquid spewed on one nightstand. The balcony felt like it would collapse soon and the handrail was full of chipped and peeling paint. So, between the mildew and natural gas smell, it was really bad. We were there for just a short business trip (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.), otherwise we would have requested a different room. The towels and linens were clean, however. Also, most of the furniture was broken or dirty. Don't stay in room 204! I don't understand how they can even rent this room out!

I love this hotel. It is within walking distance to all of the Hollywood Blvd attractions, but it feels a world away with regard to the relaxed setting and serene vibe. The pool is fabulous, and both times both times that we've have stayed here, we have requested a late check-out in order to soak up some more pool time.

Hollywood Hills -- the name reflects realities. Definitely not the norm, this place is nestled up a wooded hill with most rooms enjoying tranquilily and large windows facing over the city. Large room, good kitchenette. Nice new pool, much calmer and more comfortable than the average place. Free snacks and beverages - to be picked up upon request at the front desk. Very good 'full Continental' breakfast included, to be enjoyed around a pool. Free parking off street. Short walk up the hill to an excellent Japanese/Cal restaurant. And the value is terrific - modestly priced compared to most alternatives which offer motel-type accomodation. On the other hand, it's also unusual because many units are occupied long term; not rented to visitors. Furnishings are a bit dated. Nice staff are located at the neighboring hotel/motel 6 minute walk (3 minute drive) down the steep hill. No WiFi connection in Hollywood Hills itself; but down the hill. Very limited services available to the Hills' rooms. Overall, a special place, that we'd go back to.

The studio room and balcony was very spacious. I also liked that the hotel really sits on top of the hills so you can get a view of the surrounding neighborhood. It looks like the facility needs some renovation though because it is pretty old and I saw some patched holes and stains all over the room. The furnitures look like they have been there forever. It was nice to have a stove, microwave and refrigerator but they look like they are older than me. Overall, the staff were very gracious and accommodating. They offer the guests free mini-bar snacks/drinks however it is located at the front desk of another hotel so it was pretty inconvenient.

Our room had a HUGE balcony & a beautiful view. We could see all of Los Angeles city & at night, the city lights were amazing! The location is very close to Hollywood & Highland without being in the midst of traffic. Very pleasant stay.

The good: This hotel is located in an excellent location. It's within walking distance of the Kodak Theater, Mann's Chinese Theater, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The view is pretty good overlooking Hollywood from a modest hill in the lower Hollywood hills. The desk staff is very professional and helpful. Light continental breakfast is offered. There is a gated parking area for better security. Price is not bad considering the location. The bad: The only place to eat the breakfast is at the outdoor tables around the pool. Too bad it had rained the night before we tried it and all of the chairs were wet. There is an extra charge just to park. This is totally unneeded since you park near your room in an assigned spot. This is just another way to milk money from you. Room is really showing it's age. Carpet was dirty and desperately needs replacing. The decorative waterfall and pool leaks a little onto the sidewalk so you have to walk through a dirty puddle to get to your room. Check in is at the Magic Castle Hotel and parking is very limited. I had to park in a no parking zone to check in and out. Due to the location and price I maybe would use this hotel again if I couldn't find a good deal on another one in the area.

Suiterne med udsigt over Hollywood er af høj standart. Vær dog opmærksom på, at der ikke er room-service eller internet på rummet! Suiten skal forståes som en lejlighed med rengøring. Der findes internet i lobbyen som ligger nedenfor bakken. Hotellet kan sørge for dry-cleaning m.m.

hôtel délabré, pas propre, dans notre 'suite' la cuisinière était chaude même éteinte et sentait la gaz. Dans la salle de bain le débouche toilette (pas néttoyé) était dans le placard avec le sèche cheveux . Nous avons trouvé en rentrant un soir les toilettes avec quelqu'un qui était passé par là sans tirer la chasse (certainement le réparateur du gaz qui n'a rien fait). Seul la pscine est sympa et la vue. A éviter en plus le parking est payant 30 dollars par jour mais pas précisé (on s'est plaint de l'état et on pas payé le parking). Notre pire hôtel en 3 semaines aux USA et assez cher.
